I bought it on Saturday, got it yesterday. Still waiting for some components. Got a 2080ti, i7-9700K. I went for 1440p too, I'm willing to sacrifice some frames for a better res. 1080p on a 27, not enough imho.

@@itslegendss6407 hardware will continue evolve, but at some point you need to buy what's available. And that was 5 months ago. For me wasn't an upgrade, I didn't have anything, so I bought something I can use for the next years and I can eventually upgrade, or sell, if I get bored.

I found only ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ that one in my country. They say it has a ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) technology. I dont know if its true.

I had msi monitor, for a vá panel the colours were amazing, no blurt, but unfortunately i had some flickering using free sync 😔 worked great with my amd rig, but still something to consider before choosing it

Glen Williams of course this monitor is good but it makes absolutely no sense to buy this since u cannot even get 144 frames since the consoles are capped at 60 fps. And the consoles also do not support wqhd. And you are acting like you know the exact response time on console. You didn‘t test if it‘s actually 3.5ms. However, it seems reasonable. My point is, if you buy this monitor to play on console it is an absolute overkill and a complete waste of money
WickedAtrocity there is no information on if the ps5 is capped at 60 fps so i wouldn‘t buy the cat in the bag. However, why would they not cap the ps5 at 60 fps? The ps5 is made for the living room where people just plug it in to the tv. And tv‘s don‘t have more than 60hz anyway. So don‘t expect them to not cap it at 60 fps. Since most multiplayer games are cross platform anyways you are better off by buying a pc. Adjustable graphics settings, less lag, overall better expefience. This, of course, if you can afford a pc. However, if you think about getting such a monitor for a console and throw money in the bin, money obviously is not the problem.

Sorry but he doesn’t tell you how to enable it when it’s blacked out.
If you’re trying to use it with HDR, it’s greyed out, other than that, with display port and g sync or freesync enabled, you should be able to use it with the ELMB setting. Play with your monitor lol

Too Much Tech ya finding this out now. Runs at 2160 with hdmi and 1080 with DisplayPort. The input lag in a lot better then my big tv. Honestly it’s a great monitor so far. Not blown away but I really like it
this monitor is something else i tell ya. i'v been playing in 1080p all my life and just made the jump to 1440p and bought this same monitor and it's probably the best investment i'v made when it comes to monitors. it's out of stock everywhere online i believe but my local micro center had like 20 of them in stock lol. it's worth the $500

This is not even close to a 1ms gtg and yes youcan adjust the response time, I had this monitor for like a month also go to tft central website does a very good job reviewing monitors and testing specs. Hardware unboxed also does a fantastic job reviewing monitors on UA-cam.
The 1ms rating refers to the MPRT, which is indeed 1ms with ELMB on. The G2G is never 1ms, on any panel, including at 240hz. In order to even get close even the best monitors barely get below 3ms G2G and at max overdrive with absolutely unbearable inverse ghosting.
Curious, what were your impressions of the monitor, and why did you get rid of it? Was the strobing noticeable in-game?

I returned the monitor because the gtg response time was not to my satisfaction, response time was fairly good and colors were mehh! Never tried the ELMB sync. To summarize the monitor never amazed me.
I mainly play cs go and my TN panel is good for that, I have tried over 20 monitors from TN, VA, to ips and I was looking for a fast ips to play the pretty games and competitive games but I think I finally found it I just got the Asus xg279q it's an ips panel and it blew me away it feels and plays like a TN panel!! I'm amazed.

Design is not a problem for me... I see the monitor from the front 100% of the time, so I dont mind the back of it is outdated

Not an ROG monitor. It's a TUF monitor. It is specifically for the budget concerned...they were likely to cut something. I'm surprised it has speakers.

I am surprised you said nothing about the 2 greatest failings, (a) Out-of-the-box color calibration is horrible it's in 'vivid' mode out of the box, (b) DP 1.2 means you can either play G-Sync or HDR BUT NOT BOTH and you're limited to 120Hz VRR on HDMI. I'm not a hater I ordered one yesterday but I wish they'd fix these dumbass design mistakes ...

Bought this last week, definitely not for FPS games. It has ghosting, 5ms latency and leaves my eyes feeling weird AF. But the colors are absolutely gorgeous. Probably great for slow campaign style games but not for competitive style. Tinkered with it for 2 days and couldn’t get comfortable with it. Returned it.
USB is one of the main things the TUF monitors are missing. The point of the TUF monitors is to be a little more economical. So speakers and USB pass thru were nixed. I think $400 is a decent price for a monitor with ELMB sync...I've been waiting for ELMB sync since G sync was announced. I got this monitor recently, very worth it

I lay play on the FPS mode and I just change the brightness and contrast to what looks decent to me, refresh rate on 165 FPS, and Adaptive sync on (g sync). Sometimes I play with the strobing on for no motionblur depending on the game, sometimes I don’t if it’s late at night. When I edit photos and videos I use the SRGB mode

Although this looks nice and I'm sure it is comparable to real 1MS that you get on something like a CRT. It is still using tricks to appear like 1 MS without actually being 1MS. Also could be dangerous to people that are sensitive to strobing or prone to seizures. Nice display of Tech though.

I haven’t tried the LG, I probably would have bought that one IF it had a 165 hz option as for me, it’s a noticeable improvement over 144. And not to mention that this one is less expensive too it kinda helped make the decision for me.

While the LG 27GL850 is limited to 144hz and has better response time compared to VG27AQ, I dont really know if the 20hz would do much of a difference. I heard that asus is launching a new model vg27aql1a wich soupposly corrected some problems with the ELMB

hey man how u enable HDR on console its not allowing me to enable it even when i turn the ELMB off its still not let me turn it on, i don't care for it i just wanna make sure it works .
If you're on Xbox, you have to go into your display settings on the Xbox and turn HDR on. If you're on PS4, then idk lol.

It can go up to 144hz with HDMI. You need a DisplayPort in order to reach 165hz
