Do all IPS have back light bleed? I got one of these monitors and it had terrible back light bleed and had to return it back. I'm thinking a TN or VA would be best if this is an ips thing. Also the angles would fade. When I move to the left. I may just get the pg258q

i am looking in buying a new monitor but i cant make up my mind between:
      1.Asus PG279Q 800$
      2.Asus VG27AQ 650$
      3.Gigabyte Aorus AD27QD 620$
      4.Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q 700$
The prices are hight in my country.
I have specifically looked into those 4 because they are g sync compatible, 144hz, ips, 1440p, but any other suggestion is welcome.
Also do you have any dead pixels, if you do is it bothering you, and when you turn on elmb the image gets darker, does that bother you?

    Hey there!
I would like to make a few questions though since I have already made an order (for this specific model):
Do you still have this monitor?
If yes : Did you try a lower refresh rate ? (144hz-60hz etc)
Did you try both HDMI / DP with lower refresh rate?
    Did you try … Linux?
With everything/anything above ,did you install the driver in asus site?
Last question: Did you get any response about this issue (from Asus)?
I know that you are not an Asus support and you are not obligated to answer any of those but asking random people online is way worse ...The reddit thread is like 3 months old and I think noone tried everything above, so I thought that asking the reviewer who mentioned it in his video would be my best shot.
Thank you, that was a nice review.
P.S The fact that rtings review has no mention in that and the photos doesn't show it in the pixel error test make it more confusing to me.

      @@pinoytechdad Hey there,its me again.This is a quick update...
Long story short,i got the (first) monitor which had some kind of issue. The monitor was making some kind of "sparking" sound if it was above 60hz.
I got a new one BUT this one has a some kind of weird problem too.
To be specific ,only in 120hz I get the following:
1)The 3rd and the 4rth pixel will be black. i.imgur.com/sne7JiA.png
2)There is a MOVING pixel moving 2-3 pixels right from the mouse pointer. The color of the pixel will be mixed with grey/black.
3)Some kind of pixel shifting happens in the first (horizontal) line. i.imgur.com/TxDBnU6.png
If I disable Adaptive Sync ,then everything is ok.
Do you have any idea what kind of problem I m facing?
      HDMI/Drivers/All disabled-Enabled.Nothing helped.
      Thx in advance.

@@Cube_Box Hey. First of all, sorry for answering after a month or so.I use this email for google play... As i said, there were a few problems with that monitor. The "sparking sound" would disappear if i plugged a headset to it.
Anyway, in short, i RMAed it and i got a new one which had shifting pixels when it was at 120hz. After a year or so, i bought Samsung G7. There is absolutely no reason to by this monitor right now. There are way better IPS monitors while being cheaper.

That monitor is great but 165hz for a 1440p is quite useless. You playing those games are showing average of 60fps. Maybe youll reach that 165 fps if you play less demanding games on low settings or even changing the resolution to 1080p which is not good for 27" cause itll be too pixelated. So for me, for a 27" 1440p its good enough to have a 60hz-75hz refresh rate to save bit more money. If you wanna achieve high fps in games better stick to 24" 1080p with high refresh rate (supported by your pc hardware ofcourse).

What? 165hz on 1440p is useless? Maybe for you it is. For the people who can run those frame rates with more demanding games, it’s amazing. For 1500 or less, you should be able to get damn close or just hit that mark. Your comment just makes no sense. This is not a low end monitor. It’s $500. If you’re willing to spend $500, I’m betting your pc costs a fair bit, or at least just more than that. This comment just doesn’t make sense. You simply don’t understand how high value this monitor is

It might be useless for some. I only have an RTX 2016 graphics card, so I won't get more than 60-100 fps. However, I would rather splash out on a great monitor now and then upgrade the graphics card at some point. As long as you have g-sync, buying a monitor with 165hz will save you money in the long run. You basically futureproof your system that way :)

    • @patamaran
      @patamaran 4 роки тому

This monitor can run in 1080p 144hz+ as well. So you play twitch style games like CSGO in 1080p, where you can get 300fps no problem with something like a 1080ti, or a 2080, or you play in 1440p at 100-120hz for more intensive games like witcher 3, BF5...etc this gives you the option to tailor your monitor to what ever type of game you want.
