235i and 240i use completely different engines. It's very hard to compare. 235i uses an n55 engine, 240i uses a b58. If I had to choose, m2 or m240i, I'd take the m240i, since there is alot of potential with the b58
While B58 is a newer engine but M2 has m-dct with m diff. One thing I want you to know is that the side of M240 tyre tends to get bald quicker. Google the issue.
U Don't get the full experience not putting it in sport+ imo, people think its just the traction difference but i def feel everything enhanced including the gear change timing when driving in sport+ in the m240i
Sports+ mode over sports mode is just changing traction control, the main change between normal mode and sports mode is gearbox, throttle, traction control and adapted suspension (if fitted)
Don't get me wrong the M2 is a very special car and the M240i is not considered a fully fledged M car but in terms of power performance there isn't a lot in it. The M240i is also considerably cheaper than the M2 so I guess its a balance, I would suggest you drive both before making your decision 😊. Thanks for taking the time to watch my content and leave a comment.
Bought an M240I in the USA last December. Manual with a dealer installed LSD. Found your review to be very spot on. The choice between the M2 and my car was an easy one for me. I don't track my cars, so the adjustable driving modes, the sunroof (which really "opens up" the interior visually) along with the understated body styling more than offset the small increase in performance in the M2. Room in the boot for a couple sets of clubs and (with the seat down) a long weekend's worth of luggage. If you really find you need more power (very doubtful) the B58 engine is very tunable. Thanks for you review and for putting up with my friendly ribbing. Bill V.
It's a different engine to m235i. The x35i has a N55 engine the x40i has a b58
Exactly what I came on here to comment lol... you beat me to it! 👏👏
B58 is the best!

Ah OK, thanks for clearing that up. Also, thanks for taking the time to watch my content.

Not gonna lie but I'm Slightly disappointed by this video
Appreciate the honest feedback, any parts in particular?
@@JoshKemponcars needed more actual facts about 2 cars.
Thanks, I'll make a note for next time. 😎✌️
drive both cars and make another video
Is it worth buying an M240i over an M2, if i can pay to take the limiter off? Just asking. Hopefully you can answer. Thanks

As others have said, wrong engine. You might want to get your facts straight or edit the video to correct your mistake.
Yeah I know, continuous development and learning.
The M240 does not have the same engine as the M235
My mistake
Anyone know the song playing in the beginning
Which song are you on about?
@@JoshKemponcars your into music

thumbs down, not a fan of the video. appreciate you trying but just not it man.

Just one question...have you ever driven an M2? LOL.

@@haslettworm1644 haha cheers Will! 👍 Good to know Im talking some sort of sense... 😂
William Valevich Try an M2C and then an M240i side by side. You will see there is huge difference. Obviously I chose the M2C.
10:43 he said in the video he hasn't, he mentioned it before that too.
