Tried this for the first time today. All of my clothes and half of my bathroom are soaking wet, but my mouth *does* feel cleaner than it ever has before in my life. Overall 8/10 would recommend.
There is definitely a trick to it. We have found the best advice we can give is to place the flosser in your mouth prior to turning it on, then make sure you look down into your sink as you go; keep your mouth slightly open so water can drain into the sink.
Aw me too, glad I’m not the only one lol

Started using a water flosser recently due to gingivitis giving me problems, and it really helped clean everything out and bring the swelling down. Works wonders when paired with some good old Listerine.
Wonder if adding listerine to the reservoir instead of water would work well. Best of both worlds.
@@jaylenbrownfan2112
I would not unless you have a gingivitis problem. Using Listerine long term actually ended up making my teeth sensitive for a while, so I only use it when there’s actually a problem for it to treat. If you don’t have any issues in your mouth, brushing and flossing/water flossing should do fine.
@@jaylenbrownfan2112 Listerine here does make matters worse, as Emerald said. I special ordered a dentist/prescription level Listerine from the UK. In Europe, they don't have the restrictions and medical grade mouthwashes that actually work. I tried to use waterpik water flosser but after starting the motor of the product jets of water started spraying my mirror and walls of the bathroom. Hello Silvia- We are sorry that you are having difficulty using the product. It is important to remember that you cannot look at yourself in the mirror when you are flossing. You want to make sure that you are leaning over and are looking down into the sink. Keep your mouth partially open so that the water can flow freely out of your mouth and down into the sink. This will prevent water spray. I got this today at Costco and just did a first run. Little bit of gum bleeding which should subside with subsequent uses, I think it’s actually a sign that the gums are stronger when they don’t bleed. Anyway, I’m optimistic, it felt pretty good and seems like it would be a pleasant thing to mix in a little mouthwash in the tank. Looking forward to a nice future with this.
Hi, do you still bleed now or has it gotten better?
@@akashsindhanur9883 it must have. I had pockets which would hurt and bleed when flossing. Also, the smell of the flossing after using was not nice though I am very consistent with my teeth brushing.
When I started using the waterpik, the pocket bled a lot. After three days, it stopped bleeding and none of my gums have bled ever since.
Just make sure to not use the strongest setting. Go up to 5 which is enough. You can actually hurt your gums with this if it goes too strongly.
Also, add some xylothol in water for better results.

One of the best investments ever. Invigorating gums with water flossing increases dental health in a number of ways. I know from family experience, that if you have sensitive, bleeding gums upon brushing, this will strengthen the gums and reduce or eliminate bleeding. It also helps reduce recession dramatically. Myself and other family members have been using them for decades. My mom was prescribed dental surgery a long long time ago. Luckily someone told her about the water pik , she used it ever since and never needed the surgery. At 90 she still has her teeth and is thrilled. I could go on. I wish ALL dental professionals would loudly promote the use.
wtf all this jokes lol.... this is actually a good product.
WAC WHAT LMFAOOOO
My mom worked for a dentist and he said these don’t do as good as just regular flossing and brushing
Bullshit. It cost unreasonable/ downright extortionate amounts and is basically just a glorified bidet for your teeth- something I could do for Free with rinsing from the faucet. This will not remove plaque interproximally, nor will it effectively remove tiny particles of food and/ or plaque impacted between the teeth the same way floss or a teepee brush would. Use common sense. The amount of interproximal space needed for this kinda thing to be effective would just make this product redundant with normal oral hygiene routines I.e. flossing and brushing. Save some money and buy floss or teepee brushes. Simple.
@@insertnamehere8723 Yeah, it doesn't seem like it'll work better than actual material cleaning there (flossing).
I think they were going with the idea of a water pressure washer, but for your teeth, because water pressure washers are damn good. But in order for this thing to clean just as good as a pressure washer but for your teeth, sure the pressure is incredibly reduced, but it would still have to be strong enough pressure to clean not just food particles, but ACTUAL PLAQUE! That would cause damage to your gums.
@@dsandoval9396
It isn't strong enough, though. That's the thing, mechanically cleaning between the teeth ensures everything, even subgingivally, is cleared away. If this was remotely akin to a pressure washer it wouldn't be good for your gums and teeth in the long term, logically. There's a reason dentists use ultrasonic scales and manually get between the teeth in addition to a water jet, similar to the water floss things. At the very least you'd need to use this in addition to flossing, but that's redundant when you can floss and just rinse after. That's the bottom line here. Save money and time with this gimmick.
Such a great dental device to have. It makes your mouth and gums feel so good afterwards.

1.9 million people: interesting
I came for the comments, was not disappointed
It seemed to work great so I upgraded the motor to see what it could really do. Couldn't believe how much more I got out! Apparently I've had a gushing amount of blood just locked in my teeth after all these years.
Water floss is a must product...started using it after a recommendation from a dentist...it cleans under the gum better than normal floss
Salam Aleikum Would you recommend I get it
@@revivalist355 Wa Alakum Asalam; Yes, in my opinion, I feel way fresh and clean after using it... it is 100% better than using a regular flosser.
Everyone thinks it's a gimmick, but those use it knows how good it is
I hate string floss. It feels like it takes forever, and I constantly worry that I'm cleaning too deep and loosening my teeth. I also hate how the string gets stuck between some of my teeth and I have to resist the urge to give up and just yank it out. It just really triggers my anxiety overall, so I just stopped using it at all, and I knew that was very bad for my gums, but whenever I thought about using it, I just had no motivation. I got scared and depressed just thinking about the string floss. Eventually I knew I had to do something about it, so I looked up alternatives online and found out about water flossers. Apparently my mother has one that she doesn't even use, so I started using it instead and my teeth and gums look so much cleaner now (or at least they _look_ cleaner when I look in the mirror, so that's still a plus). It's much quicker and easier for me to use, and it's relaxing too. I'm never going back to using string floss (not like I was using it in the first place anyway).
Many people say that string floss is better and can clean places that the waterpik cannot reach, but I honestly don't really care anymore at this point. Using the water flosser is still better than not flossing at all.
Wow. Dental floss caused you a lot of mental issues!
@@swisstrader It's dental issues in general. I'm the one in the family who got all the bad teeth genes. My brother doesn't brush everyday and he hasn't gone to the dentist in 15 or so years, and his teeth are still healthy. It's so unfair.
You should floss some. They have those reach pens that make it much easier to floss. They're like toothbrushes but replaced with floss heads. I hate string floss too and never use them.
@@magamyassgotarrested3707 I had one of those but stopped using it. When I said I hate string floss, I meant any kind of wire. I don't like putting any kind of string or wire between my teeth, period.
