I had a deep cleaning today. Decided to go to the dentist because I was stressed af that I probably had the periodontal disease or gingivitis but I ended up just needing a cleaning. I watch your videos everyday. They are very interesting!!!!
I’m totally gonna sound like I’m being paid to say this but, never has my mouth felt so clean. It genuinely feels like I came out of the dentist’s office.
Funnily enough, every time I go for my 6 month cleaning my dental hygienist says I have the cleanest mouth she's ever seen and she says it's especially shocking considering I'm in braces. She barely picks at my teeth, one time I asked her to actually try just to make sure she wasn't being lazy and could even feel it myself, I don't have any buildup! She still checks really quick but mostly I just go in for a polish every 6 months. Honestly really do think if you're using it every day, it is like you've just left with a fresh cleaning lol.
I followed your suggestions for a year now and I can say that my teeth have gained a lot in terms of hygiene and I also wanna say that you are a lifesaver.
I neglected my teeth for a while and the waterpik acted as a whole new experience if you’re debating getting a waterpik I would say go do it it makes cleaning your teeth so much more easier and less of a hassle a great way to break in a healthy habit I debated it and glad I purchased it it’s great and has different setting And attachments for all your needs
My initial thoughts before using it were that it would hurt. It didn't, I went from level 2 last night and this morning I have it on level 8 with no discomfort.
I am confident that they will find that rotting food (like what you have described) is the leading cause of certain diseases and cardiovascular degeneration. Get it out!
Got a water flosser for Christmas and I LOVE it. I actually enjoy using it and it’s so much easier, faster and effective, especially around my fillings
I used these when I was a kid (many year ago). Worked but non adjustable pressure, (too high). Tried again about 10 years ago. Works great, bought adjustable pressure and I use mid setting. My teeth are really tight and it was always difficult to floss, so this was good option. Also, I use the water pick (on lowest setting) to irrigate/rinse my tonsils. I have pits in tonsils that trap food. Works great for cleaning that too. We have a battery operated also. Works good if you don't run it too long.
I can't go to sleep without water flossing, and regular flossing combined. They work so well together 👍🏻 it's a real eye opener for me, since I've hated using toothpicks this is so great 😊
What I do is floss first, then I brush. When I’m done brushing, while the toothpaste is still in my mouth I use the waterflosser and run it through all the rows of my teeth - top, bottom, front, back & even behind my teeth. THEN, I brush my tongue and I switch out the waterpik piece with a tongue scraper. While the toothpaste is still on my tongue after I’m done brushing it I take the plastic tongue scraper from the waterpik and clean my tongue off like that. THEN lmao I take a metal tongue scraper and scrap any excess bacteria/germs. THEN I use listerine total care 😁😁 I have a little mirror that I check it with & I don’t ever have plaque, tartar or cavities & my gums never bleed... idk why people say it only takes a few minutes to floss?? They might not be flossing the right way then because it takes me almost 20 minutes
I have chronic joint pain (autoimmune) and I can't floss with traditional floss like I used to. The waterpik has helped me so much. I can hold it pretty easily on flare days. It beats not flossing at all on those days. I was flossing with traditional floss every day before my illness struck. It's nice to know I can still complete my self-care routine. Thanks for the video!
Starting to using a water pick was life changing for me. For the first time I sincerely feel that after using it (at least three times a day) a CSI team couldn't find out what I ate last. Like seriously NO trace of any food or plaque on my teeth. It leaves my teeth clean as could be. I have a routine of gum brushes first, then water pick, then floss, then brush and then tongue scrape and then gargle. So... I may have become OCD... but I have clean damned teeth and good breath!!!!
I appreciate you being very thorough but yet concise. Good information. God bless dental hygienists that take such good care of our teeth better that we could ever do.
I hated using the floss string. I’d often forget about it. I got a waterpik and it has helped me maintain a daily flossing habit, I like to do it because it’s easy and I feel my mouth and teeth much cleaner
How’s it going? I’ve *reversed level 5 gum pockets,* which I was told were not reversible, by getting a WaterPik (thank you internet for this advice!!) using *10 drops of grapefruit seed extract* in my WaterPik, with the *Pocket Pik tip,* for *five minutes* daily! 🦷✨
Nada Yoga Then mouth wash. Though personally I floss first, brush my teeth, and when I get the water floss I’ll use that after brushing my teeth, and then mouth wash.
I both floss AND use a water pick, I got one that was very affordable by Bestope. The model I purchased was recommended by my dentist because there were so many brands and types I needed some guidance. It has five power settings and several attachments. My only regret is that I didn't start using this years ago. Mine even has a tongue cleaner and a sinus cleaning attachment. I use my water flosser every single day and it really has changed my life. It really is the best addiction you can have, it makes your teeth, gums, and entire mouth feel so great, fresh and clean, and it's wonderful to know that you're helping your gums be their very best. This is now a life long habit for me, and it cost less than $40, is rechargeable, and completely waterproof so I can use it in the shower.
I love her personality and energy!! And she's so pretty. Just got dental implants a week ago. So my dentist is providing me one on my next visit. Can't wait to use it. It seems fun!😊
Ooh I hope your implants went well. Very exciting. Waterflossers are great for implants. I am also a big fan of piksters, but maybe you won't need them if the water flosser does such a good job.
I decided to get a water flosser after finding out I have gum disease. I have been using it for five days now. The first two days using it was quite an unpleasant experience. It was a bit painful, even on the low pressure, and made my gums bleed like crazy in a few places. The water coming out of my mouth was bright red. The third day there was no bleeding at all in most places and only slight bleeding in a few places. It also feels less and less uncomfortable every day. I never had a problem with bleeding gums when using string floss so it seems like the water flosser hits some spaces that string floss doesn't reach. I'm going to continue using string floss for best results though. I view water flossing as an addition rather than a substitute.
Watched this video 3 months ago and ordered a waterpik. I’ve been using it daily (so 3 to 7 times a week depending on the demands of motherhood). When I went to my 6 month cleaning, for the first time in my life, my dentist said, “You have really clean teeth!” I have a health condition that makes me predisposed to cavities which makes preventing them a challenge, even with good oral hygiene habits. Thanks for the help!
I have braces and no matter what I’ve done the swelling of my gums has not gone down. Just got my waterpik about a week ago and I think it’s helping a lot already.
@@lucci8509 i don't like regular flossing. i haven't seen anyone say this before but whenever i keep my mouth open for long periods of time to floss the side of my jaw starts to become so painful and almost locks into place.

This video helped me realize that there is no easy answer to whether waterpik are better than flossing. Nor is there no easy answer to whether waterpiks can replace flossing.
Had never heard of this new device before seeing your comment. Looks promising but the website still only offers pre-orders. I think it's impossible to properly judge its effectiveness until it's released on the market and rigorously tested by unbiased sources. Btw at 264$... yikes... it better be damn good, lol. I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
@@CosmicTeapot Yea it had better for THAT price! As of now I am skeptical that it could replace floss because it's just water. But it would be amazing if they actually made it happen.
Water flossing before brushing is a good idea. "Spit no rinse" after brushing helps to keep Fluoride/Calcium/Xylitol/CPC/CHX/ misc. active ingredients on your teeth after brushing and helps to remineralise your enamel.
99% of the fluoride adheres to the teeth within 1 minute of being applied anyway. that's why the dentist tells you to rinse after applying it during a cleaning. you've been going to bed with that dirty toothpaste still in your mouth? lol.
@@DiamondhandsForever Depends on the substantivity of the Fluoride applied. Gel is a waste of time, rinses are ripping you off. Varnish is by far the most scientifically effective mode of Fluoride application. I don't think "99% of the Fl will adhere" will ever be an accurate statement, as Fluoride uptake is affected by many factors. After being applied it just sits on the pellicle. And if the patient has a dry mouth it will do stuff all because you need saliva flow and calcium to improve demineralisation. I'll stick to my dirty toothpaste 😂.
@@DiamondhandsForever he is actually right . As a dental hygienist I recommend to brush and spit only and not rinse afterwards ,specially with fluoride tooth paste.
I'm not gonna lie. I just used this thing for the first time (bridge), and it was fun as hell. I was like, what does THIS tool do? I used them all. Lol.
I’ve just water flossed for the first time and by gums bled should I be worried? It also hurt a little. I have receding gums and don’t want to keep doing it if it can make it worse….
Should I keep using string floss even if my gums are bleeding slightly or just stick with the waterpik?.By the way I love your work, short ,interesting and clear explanations.
All the dental hygienests that ive been seen by have never recommended a water flosser. I am pissed off that they never recommended it. Water flossers are a must have item if you care about your dental health.
I use my water glosser in concert with regular floss. I also irrigate by filling the reservoir with a 25% solution of Listerine. My dentist has confirmed: it has completely turned my gum problems around and my perio-pockets are diminishing in size & scope!!
The easy and more effective way to floss, the Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser features advanced technology and a compact, contemporary design. And it is the first dental water flosser in its class accepted by the American Dental Association (ADA). It cleans deep between teeth and below the gumline where traditional brushing and flossing can't reach, using a unique combination of water pressure and pulsations. ua-cam.com/video/r6Xn9kfH0hM/v-deo.html
THANK YOU SO MUCH for saying that! It's funny because that's always my phrase to everyone on set (if we're filming a parody in the office or something) I'm always shouting I LOVE YOUR ENERGY to everyone :)
I see Waterpik sells products that have a separate toothbrush and water flosser. For these devices, there are two types of toothbrushes from which to choose. One has a "sonic" head with 31,000 strokes per minute and the other has a rotating/oscillating head with 4,000 strokes per minute. *I assume the "sonic" option is better, correct?* Also, rather than two separate devices (toothbrush and water flosser), Waterpik offers a single device that is supposed to do both. The device has three settings: brush only, floss only, or brush and floss at the same time. I'm wondering if it would be better to have separate devices? Often, when trying to combine two products that work well separately, we end up with one device that does two things poorly. *Have you any feedback on how well the all-in-one product works?* I'm sorry for the long, multi-part question, but I would greatly value your expert opinion. Thank you!
It’s like my childhood dentist never telling me about a tongue scraper. I found out about that stuff when I was in my late teens. I wonder why they would leave that info out. 🤔
@@JessicaNaranjo4094 money plus instead of helping fix the teeth by giving information to get the problem fix they don't and wait to tell you how much more work is needed.
So i finally brave myself to going to the dentist. My dental hygienist reccomends me to string floss even though I have some perio pockets there past 4mm? Have I been bamboozled?
Good video. A cheaper method is to use thread and cotton. Take a piece of sewing machine thread, make a small loop, put a very small piece of cotton and tighten the loop. Hold the thread by both hands tightly and run the cotton piece between teeth. All material stuck between will be dislodged. The size of cotton ball will depend on the gap between teeth.
What i do is spit out toothpaste after brushing & then use regular floss before rinsing my mouth out with water, you can feel it's gritty but does a great job.

I have just ordered the water pik and been waiting to come, im so excited
Thanks for this video...my dentist and hygienist are all about making money...NOT providing information that will put them out of work.
I found myself just staring at your teeth for some reason
😂😂😂
my too. i was hypnotised lol
Same
This video helped me realize that there is no easy answer to whether waterpik are better than flossing. Nor is there no easy answer to whether waterpiks can replace flossing.
here's my updated video that might help more! ua-cam.com/video/yaZtNAVZ1Ao/v-deo.html
What do you think about the new Instafloss? it's supposed to remove plaque like floss. Unlike the other water flossers.
Minus the fluoride
@@DiamondhandsForever most people don't wait a minute after brushing to rinse
@@DiamondhandsForever he is actually right . As a dental hygienist I recommend to brush and spit only and not rinse afterwards ,specially with fluoride tooth paste.
Can I use the waterpik with coke
Great oral hygiene teacher 👏 👍
I'm not gonna lie. I just used this thing for the first time (bridge), and it was fun as hell. I was like, what does THIS tool do? I used them all. Lol.
You can add crowns to the list, it cleans the margins much better than string floss, makes a big difference.
I have bleeding gums but also braces and my water pik is a lifesaver
I’ve just water flossed for the first time and by gums bled should I be worried? It also hurt a little. I have receding gums and don’t want to keep doing it if it can make it worse….
OMG, I love your video!!
Should I keep using string floss even if my gums are bleeding slightly or just stick with the waterpik?.By the way I love your work, short ,interesting and clear explanations.
here's my string floss vs water floss explanation -- hope this helps: ua-cam.com/video/yaZtNAVZ1Ao/v-deo.html
@@TeethTalk Thank you.
All the dental hygienests that ive been seen by have never recommended a water flosser. I am pissed off that they never recommended it. Water flossers are a must have item if you care about your dental health.
I told my hygienist today I use a waterflosser now. She laughed and told me it wont do anything. So confused now
Ikr ! I asked two dentists and they said use normal floss instead. They never told me the reason lol
I am a dental hygienist, and I recommend water flossers every day. ❤️
Maybe it has to do with their money?
@@ginger78gingerale71 - Probably because it's no replacement for flossing.
this is the coolest thing im buying mine now and thanks for sharing!!
Thank you. You saved my life. My dentist didn't expalain or recommend nothing to me :'v
Aw! Make sure you ask at next appointment! They can offer you better advice based upon your individual case. Hope that helps!
What a lovely video so refreshing 🤗
thank you you so much for watching! and commenting kind!
Love your energy and excitement.
Edit- you deserve to be in webseries or something, if not movies.
best comment ever! thank you for this self esteem boost!!!! :)
Quick question please!
I always have tartar on the bottom of my front bottom teeth. Will water flossing help remove that?
Subscribed in first 15 seconds.
thank you for being here! :)
I love you videos 💕
thanks for watching!
I'm so positively addicted to flossing it's unreal
yesssss! floss team!

Good. Thank you for increasing awareness regarding dental health.
Thank YOU for this kind comment!!!
I just bought one last week………. I love it
I love your energy!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for saying that! It's funny because that's always my phrase to everyone on set (if we're filming a parody in the office or something) I'm always shouting I LOVE YOUR ENERGY to everyone :)
I love you... just bought a waterpic and use it twice a day!!!!!!
That makes me so happy! Sending positive vibes your way!
Going to definitely get me one of these!!!! ❤
Hey whitney I find it really hard to use the string floss , can I use water flosser instead or they must be used together
I really enjoy watching your video! So informative and such positivity
Thank you so much for the kind comment, friend!
The most useful video I have ever seen. Thanks for this!
Thank you for the kind comment!!!!!!! This makes me so happy!
My waterpik gives me anxiety, thinking it will knock out my root canal caps.
I see Waterpik sells products that have a separate toothbrush and water flosser. For these devices, there are two types of toothbrushes from which to choose. One has a "sonic" head with 31,000 strokes per minute and the other has a rotating/oscillating head with 4,000 strokes per minute. *I assume the "sonic" option is better, correct?*
Also, rather than two separate devices (toothbrush and water flosser), Waterpik offers a single device that is supposed to do both. The device has three settings: brush only, floss only, or brush and floss at the same time. I'm wondering if it would be better to have separate devices? Often, when trying to combine two products that work well separately, we end up with one device that does two things poorly. *Have you any feedback on how well the all-in-one product works?*
I'm sorry for the long, multi-part question, but I would greatly value your expert opinion. Thank you!
I started using a water pik when I got braces as a high school senior -- in the spring of 1968.
Why has my dentist never told me about water picks?!
String floss is SO IMPORTANT! And if you only have a few pockets of 4mm - that is reversible and can still go back down to 3! Floss on!
Honestly I love my water flosser but I still will string floss and manually pik each tooth with the interdental brush.
Side Note - on high power it works great for cleaning corners if shower or shower head or spa jets 😅
1:48 Beavis and butt-head moment 😂
Love the energy! Thank you
thank YOU for saying that!!! I love that phrase of loving energy ;)
I just read thru your comments and i guess my thoughts are definitely not alone. You have quite the admirers!! Where in the world are you?
What i do is spit out toothpaste after brushing & then use regular floss before rinsing my mouth out with water, you can feel it's gritty but does a great job.
