- Yes, they can be messy. But using a water flosser is a great alternative (and dare we say “replacement”?!) for conventional flossing. If you’ve never used a water flosser, you’re in for a surprise. Fortunately, when it comes to how to use a water flosser, practice makes perfect.

hahahahahaha so funny!
Bruh lmao
Cleans your teeth and your body!
HAHAHA
Lol... yeah, I had the same experience...
I will be honest, when I first turned on my waterpik, I sprayed my sink, I sprayed my mirror, I sprayed my cat, I sprayed my child, and then when I tried to clean my teeth, water went everywhere! Thanks for the tips, I am now water flossing without getting everything wet! :P
Paul Farr me too 😩😂😂😂😂
Tish the first things I sprayed maaaaay have been deliberate, but when I got to my teeth and actually tried I made such a mess! 😔
🤣🤣🤣
😹

I’m inclined to believer her because this entire video I was mesmerized by her perfect teeth

Wow this really works I love it! I use it for cleaning my patio and my car.

I'm here because I flooded my house with my new water flosser.
Adele me too
Sameee! Hahha
I agree with.
I sprayed all over my bath room
😂 😂 😂
same story here, bro
I use my cordless plus Waterpik in the shower. No mess, no fuss and easy to fill up an empty reservoir by running the lower faucet.
Also works great as a weapon of defense for blinding your assailant (when placed on high). Just aim for the eyeballs. *JOKING of course*
OMG this is genius! Why didn’t I think about this?!
Great idea just don't get electrocuted
@@pawelnowak3828 CORDLESS UNITS are not connected to electric outlets unless you're recharging them. :)
@@pawelnowak3828 Cordless Units are waterproof
Cordless Waterfloss that have the resivor at the bottom are lest likely, since Cordless Water flosser with the resvoir on the back leak at the bottom because water might come out on bottom between the resvoire and the back of the water flosser.
Hey just wanted to let you know your overall demeanor made me feel so at ease! This video helped me be more confident to use the water flosser. Thanks for making it!
Thank you so much for being here! And commenting with kindness! Wishing you continued dental health!
So, the Christmas gift I got will be put to use today! Following your guidance, of course 😂😬😂
The tip should touch the gum?
I bought one today. I kept it in the bathroom and Dad comes home and goes "what the hell is this?" Plugs it in, presses the power on button and walks out with a wet shirt 🤣
😂😂😂
LMFAO 🤣
Lol😂😂
I can’t believe I had to UA-cam a tutorial for this after the mess I made 😩😩
Just got one today. The mirror, myself, the floor, my kids.. all drenched. Also, it was like a power washing car wash. Very very intense. Even on the gentle setting.
I lost it at "my kids." 😆
I can just imagine!
I’m here because I just got braces and bought a water pik… my whole bathroom mirror is wet and I was laughing because I was staring at myself trying to get it right and water.. everywhere. I had to find a UA-cam video on how to do it and found yours!! Thanks so much!
I'm currently a dental hygiene student - I have loved your videos for years. Thank you so much for what you do!
thank you so much!!!! and wishing you the best DH JOURNEY! you got this :) :) :)
@@TeethTalk Thank you so much! 😊
I just used my water flosser for the first time and yes I looked in the mirror and I obviously didn't do anything correctly because my bathroom turned into a water park hahaha. Thanks for your videos they are awesome ^^
Aw shoot yes!!! I hope this video helped! No more water parks in your bathroom!
Thank you for the information! I got a waterpik and tried it for the first time last night. I power washed the mirror, my glasses, the sink, and nearly got my kid, too. He thought it was HILARIOUS!! He was laughing for a good 10 minutes afterwards. I tried again, but used my hand to shield from spray, and had water running down my arm. I agree with everyone, there’s definitely a learning curve!
You’re super sweet. I just searched on UA-cam because I just got a new water flosser and I wanted to see what to do. But honestly, I can listen to you talk about anything and be happy. Thank you ❤️
Too funny, the comments that everyones making a mess with theirs. I did the same thing. I never Owed a water pik until yesterday. The directions were vague.. I splashed my mirror In my bathroom and got water all over my vanity bc I didn’t keep m mouth closed. I did exactly what this chick said not to do. Lol I actually sprayed the plug socket by accident bc when I turned the darn thing on I wasn’t paying attention to which direction it was In and I thought you had to hold the button down continuously. Boy was I wrong! Last night I was laying in bed thinking what went wrong. I figured at that point I should’ve had my mouth closed to avoid the mess. Today I decided to watch a video on how to use it and get some tips. This is what came up. This video was useful even though I kinda figured out how to use it but she made some great points. I learned a lot from this video and a few others ones she has.
Thank you for the kind comment! I'm so happy you're using the waterpik & it definitely gets easier the more you use it!
Crazy enough, I didn't think it was going to be this hard to use a waterpik. And yes , me as well , I made a mess at the sink . I am a first-time user and I hope this video will teach me a lesson.
Totally! I hope watching this helped!!!
@Teeth Talk Girl it's my first time following your page and my first time using a water pick, how many times do we use it per week?
@@m0nsterfiend Use it as much as flossing. My waterpik warns to only use it for 5 minutes max every 2 hours.
Just discovered your channel after I got my second deep cleaning in 2 years. Committed to not going through that again by using regular floss a waterpik and brushing twice a day. Thanks so much for all the very helpful info. Had no real idea about this stuff but never want a deep cleaning again.
My daughter and I got a couple of cordless water flossers last week. It took a few days to get used to using it without making a mess. But the first two or three days, I called my flosser sessions my "pre-shower showers". Wow. Water everywhere. 😂
I know it's been said already but this video was so comforting and reassuring that the water flosser is a great tool. Seeing and hearing your demeanor towards it all was very encouraging. I can't wait to try it in the shower as mine is wireless!
I'm here because I just bought a water flosser and I am terrified to use it.
Aw! You'll do great! Just make sure you lean over the sink! Don't look at yourself in the mirror becasue it was spray everywhere!
use power 6 and make it close to your gum line.. it will bleed the first time but then it will make your gums healthier, just close your mouth i took a shower with waterpik the first time i used it lol
If you read the box where it says "easy to use" but then read the instruction booklet with basically describes 100 ways to electrocute and break it I understand. Watching the videos though makes it look safe.
@@user-ud3ot3yt4e bleed? why dsmn that's put me off I already scared I fell few weeks ago n got a chip I'm not good with dentists I'm scared to death they will bond my tooth for me but I'm a wuss so need putting to sleep or partly n I'm scared of that lol so thought these be great until u said it will bleed now n it so sure lol xx

I am a hygienist and just started using the same one you have. Three nights and I really like it. Today I am taking one to a friend who hates flossing so I thought I would watch this video to see what people are saying about how to use a water flosser. Great video.
With this video, I enjoyed learning about how to use the Waterpik! Thank you for making it.
Fun, informative, and “stimulating,” pun intended. As an old geezer, I’m more cognizant than ever to make sure I have clean, healthy teeth and gums. Recently, I purchased a Waterpik water flosser to add to my regimen. First I floss, then I use the Waterpik water flosser, then I brush, and finally, I rinse my mouth with fluoride because unhealthy gums, gingivitis, plaque, tartar, and cavities are the enemy. Stimulating the gums, such as flossing and irrigating between the teeth are part of a healthy regimen, which will keep your mouth, teeth, and gums healthy to last a lifetime.
I use the Oonni intelligent oral irrigator so thank you for your instructions! It does feel like a "power washer" at times but you are correct it feels so good!!! Thank you!!! Lynn Eyland, Halifax, Nova Scotia!
I got four veneers and my gums started bleeding after this, in spite of my brushing and flossing daily. I got a waterpik ultra WP 100 and have started using that on top of flossing, and it seems to have done the trick! No more bleeding.
Thanks, saw my hygienist this morning for a regular clean. He recommended this to try & I’ve just ordered my own so can’t wait to get started! He did mention this as a problem but you’ve set my mind at rest on a few things!
i love the waterpik. it withened my teeth, removed my acne, paid my mortgage
Will that work with off brand or only the waterpik kind??
Me too 😄
I don't know why this comment made me giggle the way it did! But yes, thanks to the waterpik my marriage has been saved!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
We just bought the model that you use. Thank you for your tutorial. You have good sense of humor. Thanks so much! You make it fun!
BEST COMMENT EVER! This makes me feel so happy. Thank you for the kind comment!
The way how you included the waterflosser cleaning the plaque was so satisfying:;) ❤❤
2:22 I'm crying!!! So me when I used mine last night. Just got braces (as an adult) so huge thanks to you!!!
David Dulansey hey! I had braces as an adult - my teeth were beautiful until my gums started receding which can happen. Keep your gums healthy - lots of vitamin c from veggies help and oil pulling can help too. Just sharing the knowledge- you might not need it- I wish someone had prepared me :)
@@lanabear2707did your gums start receding because of the braces? My gums have receded and I need braces
as a person that had lost all my teeth at a young age because of health issues have always had gum issues loved this video as just got implants top and bottom have tried interdental brushes but caused bleeding . thx for the tips very appreciated.
I was frustrated about using a waterpik but this was helpful, love how animated you are, thanks!
thank you! so happy it helped!
I wish I had seen this video before I started using my water. I had the setting so high that my gums started to sting and bleed. I would try this morning with a low setting, thank you
This took my stress away and made my first time a lot more comfortable, thanks!
Hey, really good lighting, humor, and clear narration. Really good editing too. I checked out some of your other videos, because I think your explanation are so clear!!!!
thank you so much for watching and commenting kind!
@@TeethTalkThank you for making such informative videos!! No, really!!!! I sort of stumbled on this video, and ended up in the middle, then rewound to catch more of it! Definitely subscribed after!
This is great. Thanks so much for the advice . We're tired of washing the mirrors after use,.......and accidentally spraying myself up my nostril!! Lol. Excellent advice. We recently started using an Oral B Oxyjet, maybe not as strong as yours but it seems to do a great job at it's highest setting, 5. Our teeth are good, 6 monthly dental check ups, and no cavities or fillings, thankfully!
This video is so helpful and pleasant.
I have the water pick, and your presentation pretty well covers the whole deal. Well done
I love my water flosser! It did make my gums less sensitive, but unfortunately I got out of habit of using it so I’m back at square one. Another tip: If anyone has the handheld flosser, make sure to dry it thoroughly after use. I had to buy another one after my first one molded out. Was not pleasant to throw money away, but my new flosser is much better so I’m not too upset.
Add a little hydrogen peroxide to the water, it will stay clean a lot longer.
Omg this is like one of the adds on the shopping channel where people are trying to do or open simple thinggs but ake it look 10x harder. Hilarious!! Love it. I know this is old. But still entertaining. And ive been looking into water flossing. Great video. Also help me decide between a small machine and a bigger one like this with all the dials.
Thank you for watching!!! Totally funny haha! I prefer the ones with the pressure dials - so I can choose the pressure level! Hope that helps! Stay well!
Thx. Good instructional video. Liked the Mr Rogers background music.
It’s one of those things that I know it’s a good investment, but water went everywhere! Learning to get better eveytime I use it. Thanks for the info! I was definitely doing everything completely wrong, like looking in the mirror! 😜
I just got the Bestope cordless water pik delivered today. Excited but nervous about using it. I’ve watched other UA-cam videos about how this works but your vid was easier to follow. Thx!
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you enjoy water flossing :)
I bought the waterpik, been using it for a few months and I love it. There is definitely a learning curve but patience it’s key. My dentist told me to start on a lower setting, below 5 until o got the hang of it, then increase the pressure as needed. I stopped at 6. Everyone is deferent so experimenting is recommended.
I went to my Periodontal doctor to have the gun pockets measured after 3 months…..all 2s and 3s. I had a bad case of gingivitis, I had some pockets that were 8s and 9s I even lost a tooth because of it. They did a deep cleaning which was a bitch!!!! Then I started to used the Water Pick, in addition to using the in-between-the-gums little brushes, and regular flossing. You get what you put into it, I am happy that my gums are healthier, no more bleeding or pain.
I just bought a water flosser today the brand is waterpik, and so far I love it!! But I did make a mess on my first try so thank you for the tips 👍🏻
Yay! You'll totally get used to it soon with no mess!!! :)
Water pik water flosser ULTRA!!! Lol first time at 31 years old using one. Thanks for making this. I use it tonight, hope it does awesome
I purchased my waterpic in 2020. It works. My teeth is clean & healthy. Don't look in the mirror when using the pic.
It gets easier after a while! I love your videos by the way!!
yay yes! and thank you so much for watching!
I just got one on Christmas called H2Ofloss I'm gonna give it a try. Glad I checked out a video first. You sure do have some purdy teeth - Teeth Talk Girl.
Love your video, upbeat, encouraging. I have a Initio It-5106. I like it and have to work on my technique. Your video will help me do that.
Teeth talk girl, you are the best! Very easy instructions and informative video on how to get the best out of your water flosser. Kudos to you! ❤🎉
thank you for watching!
I really wish I saw this video before I bought a WaterFlosser with just one pressure setting. But also - very useful video! I wish I saw this video before I used my WaterFlosser first as well :D what a fun time that was
I can't believe how much fun that was lol. You should teach this at grammar school where everybody pretty much has all their teeth at least their permanent ones. I'm going to share you with my sister's grandchildren. When they spend the night it is such an ordeal to get them to brush their teeth. I show them the teeth that I've lost because I didn't take care of my teeth properly. I'm so old to them I don't think it really affects them. Then I go through how you need to move the plaque around your teeth and gums at least every 24 hours or it will turn into a rock. I don't know how exactly true that is but it works the best. Now I have your videos and thank you very much for that. I can't wait to see their reaction. You rock girl!!!
Thank you!! Opened up my whitening Waterpik today and my bathroom is soaked, the sink, the mirror, the wall, everywhere!!! hahah this is very helpful for my next go.
I have the waterpik WP-660UK Ultra Professional Water Flosser it's the best!!! I'd avoided the dentist for seven years, when I went in January this year I had inflamed bleeding gums. I've been using the waterpik every day now for six months and my gums are amazing now. My dentist and hygienist have both noticed a vast improvement. I still also use tepe brushes but I love love love my waterpik!
I have the actual water pik brand that I got from Walmart when I first got my braces 4 years ago. I just got them off yesterday. My water pik did me great throughout and with my glued in retainers I will continue to use it
So happy to hear that!!! Positive vibes :)
Great video and engaging production. My wife and I just purchased a WF-10 from Costco last night and you're the first video I watched (even before I read the instruction manual). You pegged it and we are gong to follow you're recommendations exactly. Nice job, keep up the great informational videos!
so so so happy to hear that! thank you for watching! happy water flossing :)
Great show and tell! Thanks for taking the time!
thank you for watching :)
Your teeth look so clean. They are an inspiration to me. My teeth are jealous. I am mesmerised. I must brush longer every day.
We love using the water flosser! Great content ❤️
SAME! I LOVE IT! Thank you for your kind comments!
Do you brush your teeth before or after?
Does it make your gums bleed cos I don't want that lol makes me cringe even very low setting?
Love your delivery. 😃
thank you for the kind comment!
I use that same Waterpik and love it
Just got one so appreciate anything I can learn about using it
I watched two other videos, read the booklet three times and sprayed enough water to clean my mirror, walls and the countertop ...and my clothes, face and hair got a wash too. All the time I'm thinking, I need to buy more towels if this is my new routine. Thanks for reminding me that with practice my trip to the laundry room will diminish. Your video was fun and honest about this process. I'm feeling ready to go at it again tomorrow. Thanks!!!

@@elvisjames The Waterpik - a pressure washer for the bathroom. 😊
Thank you so much. I just used a waterpik for the first time about 20 minute ago and it was a super mess. My sink and mirror and clothing! I really felt so uncoordinated and was not sure if I was doing it right. I am not sure about the whole waterpik thing but my dentist insists on it. Your video is fantastic and really helped.
Everyone seems to have had the same water splash. Me too. I am now a pro.
Never used one before, thanks for this
I got a portable unit that is waterproof. I just use it in the shower. I definitely feel refreshed after using it. I'm supposed to have a cleaning soon, so we will see how well this product has worked for me. Thanks for the video!
thank YOU for watching! sending you positive toothy vibes for you next appointment!
First time user here, just got myself a waterpik; everything got wet; I was trying to see myself in the mirror as I floss 🤷♀️
Awesome video!! 👍👍
I start using it today , but there is a lot blood came out , is that happens to you too 🥺 am scared to use it again 💔💔
No I recently went to the dentist and got a cleaning, I’m just trying to maintain the same clean feeling
So simple, but your suggestions worked great. No more pool of water on the floor and spray all over my bathroom mirror. Thanks :)
Exactly what i was looking for!!! Thank you so much!!!
thank you for watching!
I bought a Waterpik model number WP-100 today. I used it for the first time and I love it! I was able to do the max setting at 10. I filled it up like 6 times just because it felt really good, lol.
That's awesome! Yay! I usually don't recommend to use 10, but ask your dentist/dental hygienist at next appointment what they think for you! Sending positive vibes!
Love the video! Thanks - I was so over creating a splash park every time I flossed!
thank you for watching!!!
I drained my reservoir before I even finished 3 teeth. My bathroom however just got pressure washed. 😕🤔
Thank you!!! Just bought mine 🦷
Thanks for such a informative video, i liked the idea of using flosser with different pressure setting, i have purchased Dentiden Pro C 120 Plus water flosser with 9 modes, it is amazing product and have seen improvement. thanks
Great and informative video. Thanks a lot Innuendo hygienist.
lol that's so funny I guess I can't help it!
I just got my Waterpik Aquarius. It's absolutely amazing. Loved the comedy with this video. Also, you are absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting kind! Happy water flossing!
As a little bit of an older dude, Ive learned that good dental care is more about having healthy gums vs healthy teeth. If you have gum disease, you will lose teeth and experience a lot of pain trying to fix the problem. Switched to a waterpik and basically all my gum issues went away. Use it religiously each night before bedtime and splash in a bit of listerine to kill any bacteria in the pockets of the gums. Works wonders and my mouth is about as fresh as it gets!!
My garden hose adjusts to a strong pinhole sized stream. I used it to clean my teeth a bunch of times & said MAN! Someone should invent something like this for the bathroom! Meanwhile, a brand new friggin water flosser was sitting in my garage the whole time! No clue where it came from. Mine now tho. LOVE this thing
HAHAHA!!!
Yes i love mine! Thanks for teaching us to use it correctly! I'll use it as you teached us from nowA

I recently purchased a water flosser 1st mistake
I wish I had brought one with a larger water tank.
So I don't have to keep filling it up.
2nd mistake I nearly flooded the bathroom.
Gradually learning how to use water pick
I'll get there eventually. 😊
I would highly recommend
My teeth have never looked
And felt so clean.
Great video! Thanks for posting. Any advice for aiming when you have an uneven gum line? I recently bought one per my dentist's advice to treat gum recession, and I'm having difficulty following the gum line when I can't look in the mirror...
Maybe get a portable one for the shower and use a shower mirror. I'm sure u have it figured out by now. Just commenting for future users
I bought a basic, battery-operated, hand-held WaterPik and an electric toothbrush for my birthday this year, and I'm still getting used to both. I've been using the WaterPik over my bathtub, and boy, did that visiting spider get a surprise! The first time I tried to use it over my sink, looking in the mirror, everything got drenched. It even shot up my nose. I thought to myself, "Where was this after I had nasal surgery and had to use a Neti bottle?"
Cute video. I took mine back because it was a mess but I looked in the mirror lol my dentist really wants me to use one. So after your video I’m ready to try again haha. Gonna order one now. Thank you.
Thank you for the great tips, love your channel!
thank you so much for being here :)
I just started using a water pik as advised by my dentist! Do you hold it a couple of mm away from your gum line as oppose to running it directly along the gum/teeth line? Thanks!
Did you ever figure this out? I need to know too😩
I’d love to hear the answer from anybody out there!
Also wanting the answer. I think most people are holding the tip against the gum but adjusting the pressure as the video described.
Should the tip of the flosser actually touch your gums or just hover?
I got a hand held and use it in the shower. I have a cup to refill it... very simple and no mess.... all the while, hot water running on my back, niiiiice
I love my water pick! I use it every day!! Pro tip: it doubles as a portable bidet! So I feel fresh and clean at both ends!
😂
That is hilarious! And brilliant👍
I used to have various toothaches and mouth ulcers. It won't be now. I have found that as long as the bacteria in the mouth are solved, the teeth will grow healthily, but they need daily care. Electric toothbrush + Water Flosser = Healthy Mouth.
Hey, just found your videos. Great stuff! I’m into teeth so I enjoy this stuff. I watched your video about waterpik vs floss and you mentioned floss can’t get below 2-3mm I think. Is it a good or bad idea to aim the waterpik more downward to get deeper under the gum line, especially if you have a few deeper pockets? Thanks.
I got one with the reservoir on the handle and now I'm regretting it cause it only runs for about 45 seconds. Anyway, thanks for the "don't look at yourself in the mirror" tip. That really helped. Okay, I'll be honest, I haven't tried again since I watched this video, but you gave me hope.
Very useful. Thank you!
I just bought my waterpik today and found this video because I made a mess. Lol I think my problem is I like staring at my teeth when I'm brushing and using regular floss. I am not going to give up on this though I will master the waterpik! haha Subscribed btw!
Oh how often do you clean it? I know to use a some white vinegar, and also how do you store it? I just emptied the basin dried it out. I'm worried about the inside.
And do you still use regular floss?
Anyways thanks for the video.
Hi!!! So happy you found this video!!! You WILL master it! Just really try to focus on the feeling and you can "feel" where you're aiming it while leaning over the sink and NOT looking in the mirror. I store mine emptied, as well. After I pour out the water, I run the line dry. I hope this makes sense! And, yes I still use regular floss, as well! It's my routine!!!
Teeth Talk Girl i have always thought that unwaxed floss is the only way to really get that squeaky clean sound when gliding the floss, what are your thoughts on unwaxed floss?
I believe the American Dental Association states that both waxed and un-waxed floss is good to use. It's patient preference! I like both - it just depends on the situation :)
Thanks for the tips! I made a mess and I accidentally swallowed that water!
Mental note:
Tomorrow I won't look at myself in the mirror, I'll lean over the sink and I will not swallow the dirty water full of bacteria.
Thank you, this was very helpful!
Thank YOU for watching!
My dad bought one for himself but hasn’t been using it, so I’m using and I really like
I just bought my first water flosser and made a minor mess on my sink. It seems imposaible to stop the water from dripping down the handle. I'm also worried because it's difficult to know if I'm doing it well enough to actually get the flossing done.
Next time you visit your dentist - ask them to see if they've noticed improvements. If not - request a demo from them. Sometimes it helps if they can show you on your own teeth. Good luck!
I guess I was doing it wrong rubbing the tip on my gum line. Of course you still end up doing it right because you have to lift it away. But worried doing it this way can cause damage. But the dentist acually touches gums and teeth when they use there pick. When the dentist does it . It does sting and prouduces water. I think they use something different
