On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

I've always loved the F-15E. I remember as a kid we were on the farm and 2 flew over low where you could see the pilots i waved at them. One turned around and came back and waved they were so low you could see them, i believe was "C' model though but still an F-15. True story. Great video!
Same story, baling hay in Canada when a pair of 18s rolled in..

@@kentondyck2308F-15E dropped a laser guided bomb at a landed helicopter in hopes of destroying it and killing all the infantry, helicopter took off and WSO maintained the las on the helicopter, bomb connected, registering the F-15E’s first air to air kill

I've tried to replicate it with the F-16 and let me tell you, DCS does not like using A2G stuff for A2A. I got it working, but it took some effort.

If it's okay, I would really appreciate seeing a dual bandit unknown BVR match. I think both pilots changing planes and neither knowing what is coming would make for a very interesting to watch video.
Now that you have more experience in the F-14B, could we possibly see a rematch of the F-14B vs the Mirage 2k-5 in a dogfight? A video of BVR between the two would also be pretty cool to see how the tomcat holds up against MICA's. Thanks for the awesome video today!

That's why I personally think it'd be cool af to send in The Raptor slightly ahead and have him verbally feed info about bandits barring! F-15E & F-22 VS 16 North Korean MIG-29's! F-22 out front engage bandits first then from few miles behind The F-15E joins the fight in a one two punch scenario! Also using the combination of F-22's stealth and situational awareness coupled with The F-15E's Radar and sheer power!🙏👍
Your radar saw Mirages but all I saw was a trio of Croissants on their way to AMRAAM City. I hear it's a lovely place all year round. But home and auto insurance is a bit pricey due to falling aircraft debris.
It's nice to see that GS's luck with getting shot down after proclaiming he's survived a missile also extends to the enemy.

Love your videos man, I love seeing the BVR engagements, but would it be possible for you to start including a 1v1 turn fight as well? That way we get to see not only a comparison of the weapon systems and avionics, but of airframe performance as well.
In a turn fight the mirage would dominate the f15e. The strike eagle is not a good dogfighted
The F15E gets dominated in any turn fight. Just look at the video of it fighting the 16. It’s way too heavy, it just doesn’t turn.
What they said. The Strike Eagle is designed first and foremost as a bomb truck to destroy ground targets. It can dominate in BVR as we saw and will be even more dangerous once AIM-260 JATM beyond visual range missile becomes operational end of this year. Hypersonic, 2 way data link, active homing, 120+ mile range. Not sure if the F-15EX only will be getting or if the F-15E will as well.

As I recall the Isreali airforce calls the F-15 "a flying SAM site" which is what it essentially is. It helps that the airframe is ridiculously capable. I'd immagine having a real RIO would greatly amplify the bvr prowess of the F-15, is it possible to have another human acting as the RIO in dcs?
the task load for radar operations doesn't really vary much between pilot and WSO. The main thing a WSO assists with currently is paralleling tasks, like the pilot and WSO find a target on A/G radar and cue the TPOD to an area, while the WSO operates the TPOD to identify a target, the pilot can continue using the radar in full self-escort mode. Or vice versa. This will change a bit when we finally get that TERRAIN FOLLOWING RADAR, because then the pilot will be following radar cues or coupling the autopilot, and if the pilot is heads-up, the WSO can pick up the A/A radar workload and operate in full self-escort mode. The point is we basically split and double up on tasks to maximize efficiency since there's only two of us up here. IIRC WSO will usually operate bombs though as they lack the ability to give the system consent to fire anything forward facing.

@@farbenfrohesgrau4056 It cannot. F35 just need to put nose to F-15 and there is no chance F-15E's radar could see it beyond 30km. While F-35 can just locate F-15's position just by silently analyzing its radar signal.

Can you explain in detail the purpose of "double tapping" missiles? I'm new and the way I see it, the missiles either both miss or hit at the same time, and double miss or double hit both seem like waste of precious ammo.
Hi, actually in this video (sorry I don't know the time stamp) there is 1 mirage who gets hit by 1 amraam and the other one flies by. I only ever double tap a bandit if I really really need him to die, or I need to thin out a herd. Otherwise you're right..it's a waste of ammo.

How about a F-15E mission where you strike a ground target while two MiG-29s are sent to intercept and two Flankers are scrambled to assist.

Hello there! I saw a documentary that claimed the Viggen was the only aircraft that could lock an SR-71, maybe that's something to make a video of?
The Viggen was the only aircraft known to have achieved a firing solution on an SR-71 afaik. MiG-25 and -31 series aircraft could lock up the Blackbird, and have fired many missiles, none of which came that close.
The Viggen had the advantage of knowing the Sr-71 flight plans, in which the Blackbird would descend and slow down over Swedish airspace. Relatively easy at that point to obtain viable firing solution.
We sadly only have the ground attacker version of the viggen in dcs that doesn't have a air to air radar

@@chrishaug the F-35 can pretty much perform the same moves as the F-22 raptor in a dogfight. Especially the A model which is made for the airforce.
Gripen is usually on the consideration table because it is a cost effective alternative but so far not many countries have inducted it in their airforce.

it's just not implemented in this module yet. It will eventually come. The old 80s model F15Cs originally didn't have datalink I think.

I have to ask, I know that the strike eagle is the air to ground version of the f-15, but still is an f-15, how is it possible that there is such a huge difference between the C and the E variant, being the last one a fat pig that is pretty slow and has little to no dogfight capability?

The Strike Eagle weighs two extra tons empty and six-and-a-half extra loaded. Her engines were uprated a bit to deal with the extra mass, but her thrust to weight is just 1.05 compared to the 1.13 of the C-model.
