In this DCS World Simulator video I'm glad to share this preview with you guys of the mighty F15E Strike Eagle and the Sinai map.
Hope you will enjoy this strike mission.
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

So, the F-15E has limitations as far as dogfighting abilities ? Not able to stress the wings in tight, high G turns, eh ? Well, hey... It's a very accurate bomber and BVR missle truck. And it's fast with fantastic long range radar. Why dogfight what's already been eliminated. Ha ! Great mission, LongShot !

You can see the difference between someone who has interest in F-15 and others, probably struggling to understand WTF they got into their hands.
They dropped a GBU-10 on a HAS (hardened aircraft shelter). In front of the HAS, the Hind started taking off, so the WSO shifted the laser spot to the Hind. The TPOD video of that kill is amazing, and oh boy did it suck for the Hind to be hit by 1000lbs of Tritanol (Half of a 2000lbs LGB with a MK84 bomb body is explosive, rest is case). Warhead on an AAMRAM is 44lbs.

It's incredible that this "little" 2 seater jet can carry a similar load to a B-17 heavy bomber from WW2 with a 10 person crew. Really amazing when you think about it, and with the accuracy of modern drops it can probably carry out missions that would have taken a minimum of 12 B-17s. That's 1 jet and 2 men doing what 12 4 engine bombers with 120 men could do.

try do what a few bombardment groups could do, the real increase is not payload, but precision, area bombing in WW2 required hundreds of bombs dropped on an area to require a high probability of kill, this means a single bombed today, just as a GPS guided JDAM, can effectivlt accomplish what multiple flights of strategic bombers could at a time, and of course the aircraft also has the endurance to hit multiple dispret targets in all wealther conditions, and also can provide close air support, and combat air patrol, so really while replacing a few bombardment groups it also would effectivly do the same to their escorting aircraft, and seperate squadrons of attack aircraft.
@@teargass1849 Yeah I agree, it is worth mentioning though that there were far more accurate bombers in WW2, the Soviets heavily relied on precision strikes over strategic bombing, such as in low altitude and dive bombing strikes from PE-2 and the British De Havilland mosquito was also capable of quite accurate bombing with a skilled pilot. Accurate enough to hit a designated building or target zone, of course there we are talking about a substantial difference in payload size, and lacking the ability to go up against other fighters.
The f-15e is larger than the B-17 in length I think

There has been so many "whats the point of the SE" posts on Facebook lately, but i think you just did a very good job of ansvering that. What other tactical aircraft ind DCS can drop 13 bonbs on target, splash two highly cabable advesaries and still have plenty of fuel to go home?

One should ask those guys if they ever dropped a single CBU-97 or 105 in DCS. This beast can bring a grand total of 15 of those... just let that sink in for a second or two...

I like the look of the engines with the Israelis keeping the nozzle petals on, even if it did increase drag.
The turkey feathers actually reduce drag, but they found it wasn't worth the additional weight and complexity.
@@baileyparadis1815 I’ve heard different things, but yes at the end of the day it was a complexity issue. Same thing as with the F-14 and the glove vanes. The manufacturer didn’t remove them on newer models, the maintainers just sealed them shut.
Chiming in with the others that you don't have to worry about overstressing your wings unless you go absolutely crazy. There is an "available G" meter right in the HUD, and it was showing 9Gs
So glad they gave you a preview version - well done!
Rapid runway repair will have a big job on their hands!

I don't know why you're so scared of the G-limit. With tanks and everything you had left, the plane was capable of 9Gs. Yet you were scared of 2 or 3. Is there a reason for that?
It's not the tanks its because he's going 600+ knots with tanks, pulling hard is going to rip your wings off, without them you're fine

12 GPUs??? That's a B-17 load!! And it has more!!! WOW!! 1 pilot (Strike Eagle), 10 crewmen (B-17). All the F-15's bombs hit target, while it took 20-30 B-17s in a carpet bomb raid. Almost unbelievable.

In every recent video of the DCS strike eagle, the thing that always surprises me is how fast the plane seems to go, perhaps y'all are on afterburners most of the time but still, one fast plane that's for sure.
F-15 can go fast even with full load, that sets it apart from a lot of other jets. And while Strike Eagle is heavier and less aerodynamic than C Eagle because of it's hardpoints on it's body, it has more powerful engines to make up for it, so it's actually not that much slower than it's brethren.
I am out of touch these days, but the 15 may still be the fastest or one of the fastest fighters ever built. I feel sure the E is still very quick.

The hind had actually already taken off and had started moving and they just kept the laser on it, and the bomb found it’s mark, airborne target on the move. All he had was bombs and guns left.

Better tactic on lead-trail enemy group is to fox the trailer first, wait 120 sec then fox the lead. That way they both get splashed at the same time, no warning from one blowing up before the other.

Is there any specific requirements that make a module a module and not a mod? I have a somewhat basic understanding in the sense that I think a module means it's modeled to be true to real life, using declassed documents and whatnot, but not sure, since I don't play, just like watching the vids.
@Bly Guy that is my understanding of it too. I believe a mod is taking an existing airframe module and modifying it to be something else. A module is fully modeled on the real deal. Like you I've yet to play DCS but that's my understanding so far. Can't wait to get into it

You and GS should dogfight in the F-15E (pilot, WSO) against helicopters using only air to ground weapons. Call it the "not a pound for air to ground" challenge since you're technically only doing A2A combat.

This model looks like it’s got the F-100 engines (I think) rather than the other engines the American Strike Eagles have (and Growling had in his video). Are there different models to choose like the Tomcat A and B?
It has the same engines as the american Strike eagle (the P&W F100-229) but the Israelis kept the so called turkey feathers on while the americans removed them for easier maintenance. That‘s why they look slightly different :)

Razbam stated not at initial early access release, but it's on the list. Strike Eagle can be fully operated from either seat, just a lot less workload when shared.

It is going to be arguably the most detailed module and it is an a2g monster and a demon in bvr

The one thing about the Viper is that right now, it has a much wider variety of weapons, targeting/jamming pods, it has a helmet mounted display (and the AIM-9X to use it with), DataLink, etc. and the Strike Eagle will have only a small selection of weapons (no GPS-guided JDAMS I believe), only the very old LANTIRN targeting pod, no helmet mounted display (and only up to the AIM-9M), and it won’t even have the DataLink functionality on release. RAZBAM said that those things, new weapons, the newer Sniper targeting pod, etc. will be added later but most likely it will take months or even years.
Another thing is that the F-15E most likely will have quite a few bugs for some time after release, like anything that gets released nowadays, and the F-16 has had a few years already to have many of its own bugs ironed out…

This is fairly silly at this point. Razbam should just release the current unfinished build to the public as it would have more eyes on the project giving more feedback. Obviously the module is early beta, but even being so, those that have pre-ordered would be more than satisfied to start using / interacting with the unfinished project in its current state.

Why can the F-16 only shoot at like 20-25 miles and the eagle can shoot at 40?
The F-16 has a much smaller nose than the F-15s so it has much less space for the radar. Because of that, the F-16 has a smaller radar that, I think, might be also lower powered. The F-15 was intentionally designed with a large nose in order to fit a very large, very powerful radar and it paid off. All of the radars fitted to F-15s were quite powerful, and even today the F-15EX could be fitted with one of the most powerful fighter-sized radars out there because of that design choice.
Small plane = small radar. Big plane = big radar. The bigger the radar the better
F-15 was build around radar. A radar that can detect the threat a lot sooner than F-16 and keep a stable track.
It can also fly higher where air is less dense and where it can reach high Mach number. That adds up to AMRAAM rocket engine impulse so missile has more initial kinetic energy.

go mach 1.3 at 30k and f16 would be able to fire at 40+ nm but locking radar is another thing

You should have jettisoned your tanks when the BVR started, or at least when you fired your first missile, to get more agile and dont have to worry about the wings. A F-15E without extra tanks can't have weaker wings than a F-15C?? Unless they pre perforated the wings like a frikking invoice......lol :D

No AI for the strike eagle, cause you don't need one, you can control all the systems yourself
There isn’t going to be an AI on release but RAZBAM said they will add their own Jester-like AI later.

What exactly is jester’s role in the F-15? He’s pretty quiet back there.
There is no Jester in the F-15E
The entire point of the Jester AI in the Tomcat is to provide a RIO because the pilot cannot use the radar by themselves. In the F-15E the pilot can do just about everything the WSO can do so there's no need for an AI. Later on there will be one added but it won't be Jester because that's owned by Heatblur. Razbam's AI will be called TALON but will come much later on

Hey Longshot - love the channel and I'm very grateful for the content you produce for us. I'm a fan.
If I may make a respectful suggestion - when relating real-world combat history in a video format, it can sometimes come across as a bit callous when laughing about something like getting JDAM'd while taking off. Whatever one thinks of an adversary nation and the men fighting for it, the guys in the other aircraft were human beings with loved ones of their own, trying to serve their country, and they lost their lives doing it. War is hell.
No disrespect is intended, and I'm sure I wouldn't be up to the challenge of making content like yours. I'm also 100% sure no disprespect was intended on your part. Anyways, just a friendly suggestion. Cheers, and thanks for the great content.

You are aware that this is a simulation and those weren’t people, just a bunch of polygons? If you were to treat every video game or a simulator that seriously, and treat every engagement as a moral dilemma, most video games wouldn’t be enjoyable at all. The whole point is that none of that is real and everything within the game/simulation is for the player to have fun with. Just wait until you learn that games like GTA, CounterStrike, or Call of Duty exist…

Second, I assumed that you’re overreacting to the moment when he laughed after he dropped the bomb in-game because it didn’t cross my mind that someone can be so hyper-sensitive to cry about his slight chuckle while telling an interesting story about the F-15E’s only air-to-air kill (Imma let you in on a secret, humans sometimes react that way when we tell or hear a story about something unexpected or ridiculous, and the story about dropping a 2,000 lbs bomb on a helicopter definitely qualifies as such)
Sorry for being so direct but you have no idea how to fly a good and effective CCIP pattern. You want to fly an offset at a decent altitude. and then turn it in. After you turn in you should be in a min 20-degree dive. During the dive your throttle is at idle and during the bombing, you are not touching the stick unless you want to die. Then you fly the egress and you need to drop flares like there is no tomorrow and never use the Afterburner.
During the fight. You have a digital fly by wire system and I believe it is a 4 channel System. So the FCS will limit you, so you cannot break your wings.
The F-15E doesn’t have fly-by-wire. It has a flight augmentation/dampening (?) system but overall the flight stick inputs are still directly linked to the control surfaces actuators. The F-15 only got fly-by-wire with the F-15EX Eagle II version.
(Sorry but if you’re gonna be nit picking the video, you better be 100% right)
