this just has a very different feel and vibe from the 1 on 1 duals. the amount of lives lost, years of experience, the cost of training, and the ungodly amount of wasted millions of dollars... and what we saw here would of been a minor small engagement in ww2 scales.
tbf id probably be the type of guy to chill on a rooftop when theres a clash.but gonna be uneasy that there will be planes falling out the sky and people will die
What would be very interesting is to see this run multiple times with the same people ideally working together with some sort of plan. With a lot of these massive battles theres always the problem of just running into each other head on and shooting a bunch of missiles. It's just a non-tactical blood bath. Seeing teams work together however with planning, goals, etc would be more interesting to see how it develops overtime. What each side finds works best for their equipment etc.
That sunrise shot with the Eagles plugging in their afterburners, dude you could sell that as art. Though I admit, I might be biased as a hardcore Eagle fanboy.
This was so apocalyptic. No matter if it fought with modern technology or stone axes. The sky is blood and orange and no mercy when the duel between the two big tribes starts.
Ever since you introduced the concept of multithreading and it's capabilities in DCS, I've almost been YEARNING to see a type of engagement at this scale. Would love to see more and potentially even entire air-wing battles taking off from bases and engaging with potential SAM cover too, could open the door for potential SEAD and air to air combat simultaneously. Keep this up!
Also noticed on Tac Debrief ONE situation of Red on Red... as well as the NATO forces seeming to be rather slow on picking up incoming warnings and starting to evade. Seems like they were almost surprised that the Red forces got off shots and then suddenly went "oh no" and basically everyone started to bank/dive at once when there was a clear missile lock already reached.
It's a common theme I've noticed. I first picked up on it when GS was doing a NATO one and the "wall of Eagles" was a literal wall that did nothing but fly straight and die.
This was a cool video; however, I think it would be fun to see the same type of scenario i.e., large squadrons with modern jets but guns only! Dogfights in a meatball! 🏆
I love seeing the tactical view at the end of the battle. It really throws the rest of the video into a new light, light the jaw dropping number of missiles that the blues lobbed at the red force initially and that unfortunate red on red committed by GS 😂
Imagine being in the city hearing 20 something odd sonic booms looking up and 10 seconds later planes exploding and balls of fire raining down upon you.
Really good video, a type of engagement you don’t see too often, and the TacView debrief is a really great perspective. Could do an entire video just going through that alone. One thing this does demonstrate is why you NEED to crank after firing missiles, even if you’re not getting targeted yet. Blue looked to have a significant advantage with early missile launches and locks, but seemed to fly straight in after them, so the red missiles hit them at nearly the same time, and with slightly greater efficacy. At the same time, you had a few red pilots crank earlier, and they tended to survive into the second round to clean up the surviving blues
Realistically, thanks to link 16 and MADL nowadays, there’s hardly any “hold lock until the last second then give it up” there would be a series of fighters in rows, and each row will take turns slinging AMRAAMs at long range and around 45-50k feet, with no reduction of altitude, and just keep cycling in a large oval as the other rows do the same, and thanks to data link like Link-16 and MADL the missiles will always have target acquisition from the host aircraft with no dropped lock
All those dudes falling out of the sky at once.. I actually got a nervous feeling - "I wonder if that's what would happen in a real life peer to peer first engagement?" I hope we never have to find out.
watching the TacViews of these massive BVR fights reminds me of watching Macross way back in the day... so many missile trails looking like tentacles of 2 mythical sea creatures reaching out to each other to engage in battle...
It would be interesting to see both sides with equivalent missiles, the C5 is a 90s missile, while the 77-1 is a late 2000s/2010s missile. The Us in the meantime developed the C7 and the D which are def better. Would be cool to see those.
In the old days you could get away with randomly firing a missile and not be court marshaled. Now they can plug into the computer and see everything you did.
So NATO lost because they decided to be greedy and get multiple volleys off before going cold? Also anyone notice the russian friendly fire incident? 12:55-13:01
Whoever thinks that's a cowardly tactic surely doesn't understand how much an amram to the face can ruin your day..nice way to stay alive man. Another tactic learned. The carnage in the tac view mode was eerily scary I didn't think there was any chute but the blue planes showed a good survivability rate..I want more.
Two moments in the video stand out to me. First, GS is turning away, and you can see the rest of his team accelerating to attack. The multiple sonic booms is impressive. The second scene is when all the planes are falling out of the sky and the civilian traffic is just going about it's business. Imagine coming home from work and seeing these jets zooming off on full afterburner. Pucker factor. Well done GS. It also shows you why stealth became such a high priority to the USAF.

12:58 did you friendly fire?
How about 5 I-16's vs 5 Arimachi's....guns only dogfights ? That would be a great Furball !
Name of the song pls
Do a similar video but with dogfight just guns no missiles like a ww2 era but with modern planes or ww2 planes will be really fun i guess
this just has a very different feel and vibe from the 1 on 1 duals. the amount of lives lost, years of experience, the cost of training, and the ungodly amount of wasted millions of dollars... and what we saw here would of been a minor small engagement in ww2 scales.
In a real air to air engagement will be kinda little short maybe 5 to 15 min and with possibly 2 to just 4 aircrafts
I was thinking the same. Reminds me of the simulations you could run on Janes WWII Combat Simulator skies full of fire

Yes it is sad I’m glad that they created ejection seats though they have saved many lives

Pretty sure the Tac Debrief shows GS shooting down an allied aircraft at 12:57. 😅
Or at least a red on red.
Unfortunately yes, GS shot down an allie 10:01, but in that situation it's pretty difficult to know what are you shooting at 😅

Was wondering the same thing 😂😂
Saw that at the end in the tacview and I thought, "...Did GS screw one of his own...?"

This would be amazing.
I have a feeling the French rafell pilot would do very well😂
@@clayblaze1327Nah, Shotgun would be disrespectful to the Rafale pilot.
At around 13:00, you can see that one of GS' kills was a friendly kill 😂

I mean, they are Russian RP. It's in character
That guy had just back from leave and was showing everyone picks of his new girlfriend: GS’s wife! 😆

There are PvP leagues for DCS where teams go up against each other just like that. It’s quite interesting if you know what you’re watching.
Where do I find such videos? I'd really really love to watch those.
With all the aircraft falling out of the sky, I kinda hoped an F-15 somehow fell on you. "Hold this F-15 my dude!'

It was actually a thing. Not with the Russians, but the Iraqis in the months leading up to Desert Storm.
That sunrise shot with the Eagles plugging in their afterburners, dude you could sell that as art. Though I admit, I might be biased as a hardcore Eagle fanboy.
GS, Looks like the second kill you got was friendly fire.
Tacview Debrief seems to confirm it.
This was so apocalyptic. No matter if it fought with modern technology or stone axes. The sky is blood and orange and no mercy when the duel between the two big tribes starts.
That battle tactical view reminded me of medieval archers launching a hail of arrows at the opposition. Cool!
I noticed two F-16 crashed to each other at the very beginning of the fight. It looks like they panicked.
What's the time stamp Skipper?
The kind of impact GS has on the enemy.

For a few moments, I thought you were on a mission to attack a massive flying saucer on independance day...
I've been thinking about that movie lately too. I like that the President's call sign is Eagle One; you don't often hear that on a fighter jet
Wait, did GS shoot down a friendly plane? Looks like in the TACview
12:57 GS shoots down a friendly. That's instant execution on your return comrade!
