On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Hey GS, as always thank you for the AWESOME videos you put out! I have a question. Do you think, in the first round, if you was able to have rolled the aircraft over and gave the bottom of the aircraft the missle it might not have killed the pilot? Eating it was funny though im sorry!!! 😂😂

Fox 2 dogfights is like the aerial version of Russian Roullete with how these modern missiles behave
Sometimes they can get really (un)lucky when that missile surprisingly comes back for a second run.
Whoever did the soundeffects for the Gripen (cinematic shots) nailed it! I live 5 minutes from an air base and they fly by my house regularly and it sounds just like the real thing!

GS dying in a Gripen in the first round has pretty much became a tradition over here.
Very interesting to see how quick and deadly a modern dogfight can be. It's almost like an old pistol duel were they walk back to back and the first one to turn around and put the nose/gun on target first win.
I'm reminded of the words of Tuco Ramirez: "When you have to shoot, shoot! Don't talk." The play-by-play can wait when a Flanker's on yer butt.

Interesting that the Gripen did similarly against the Su-47 as it did against the Su-27, despite the Su-47 being based on the Su-27 and being designed for low speed maneuverability.

There is sadly no good enough F-35 for him to fly.
There's going to be about 400 F-35s across the European NATO nations I think. But I'm not convinced DCS is doing it justice. Real life is a different thing. Plus of course, the model is unofficial.
But... let's hope we never have to find out.

Imagine you are in a fight and the punch passes you by..and you think to your self..."HA! They missed!" and so you go to do your punch and his punch has wrapped around and hit you on your other cheek!!! That missile coming around and getting you when you thought you were good or safe is terrifying. Great video GS!!!

Two reasons:
1. Winning quickly is best for you
2. Losing quickly is best for them
It minimises casualties on both sides. The ultimate outcome being that the other side surrenders immediately when they recognise the overwhelming disadvantage.
Not applicable in a 1 on 1 dog fight but the principle is the same.
