got a scenario you could try if you got someone to help you build, is a pilot wanting to defect to allied landing zone, you are to escort him in, all other bogeys will be hostile. you must make visual confirmation of the defector before you can go hot on the bandits. you choose your aircraft, the others will be all same aircraft but with something like a tail number to denote the defector. could be cool to have you do a spoof on the guy who brought in the mig in 1976.

The point of countermeasures is to get the missile to aim for a false target. If instead you're trying to deplete the missile's energy then countermeasures are essentially pointless. Also, not sure what your point is given you weren't replying to GS.
You single handedly got me into DCS. Your content is amazing. I got myself the A10C module. Gotta be honest, I'm struggling a bit to learn it, but your A10 videos keep me going. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks very much, in times when you’re struggling to learn the a10 keep going, and remember we all struggled at first and it was hard for everyone. I recommend dividing tasks and doing them over and over again until you learn it fully. For example today I’m going to learn the gun. And then do gun runs all day until you master it. Then say ok now I will learn mavericks and then do that until you master it. So learn 1 task at a time. At least that’s what worked for me. Thanks again for your support and I wish you the best in learning your a10, she’s a great bird.

You're making great decisions as a director. Part of what makes your content so engaging is that each video tells its own story. Sometimes it's heart racing action, sometimes it's a comedy, sometimes it's a cerebral chess game to slowly march the enemy into a losing corner of their flight envelope. The sound design of the E-3 AWACS is incredible. I got to see a flyover of one recently and the high pitched roar is just like it's modeled in DCS. Eagle Dynamics did fantastic.

@@Archer89201 R-37 has limited capabilities against an evading target. While new R-37 (without booster) had a range of under 200km, that is only when fired from high altitude against a target that isn't evading. The R-37 cant maintain hypersonic speeds through course corrections, so the practical maximum range against an evading target is more like 100km (62 miles) The SU-57 fired at around 100 miles, all the AWACS had to do is make a few gentle banking turns and it was safe.

I find it interesting that the stealth of the SU-57 in DCS still seems a bit over rated. Sukhoi claims having an RCS between 0.1m^2 to 1m^2 (-10 to 1 dBsm) which is basically not even as stealthy as the F-117 (-25 dBsm). The F-22 and F-35 have a -40 dBsm or lesser. These are numbers based on all unclassified documents. To put that into perspective the S400 with it's 91N6E radar has a detection range of 390 km against a 4 m^2 target. This means it detects an F-15 (13 m^2) from 523 km, an F-18E Super Hornet (~1 m^2) from 275 km, the Su-57 (assuming 0.1 m^2) from 155 km, and the F-35 (0.0015 m^2)/F-22 (0.0001-0.0002 m^2) (-40 dBsm and lesser) from 27 km. The AWACS has better radar than an S-400 and should be detecting it at least at those ranges or even better. Even the F-15's radar should've been detecting it at 2/3 those distances. In reality it's RCS characteristics are the same or a little better than an F-18 yet no plane in DCS can detect it even at 100 km.
@@paralay156 What they have is conjecture, they've never inspected the planes nor even seen the S-Ducts of the intake for the engine. They also haven't seen nor know the compound for the RAM coating. That's without adding the super tight tolerances of the top-secret CNC machine the US uses for the F35 which doesn't even need RAM coating on the leading or connecting edges (the tolerances are so tight they are seamless). Of course, they can't fathom this because Russia doesn't have the tech nor the machines to produce them the same way Skunk Works, etc. can. Compare that to the SU-57 which is all done by hand, which is more artisinal, but they can't be as precise as machines. This has been discussed in articles with Sandboxx News (Alex Hollins - Popular Mechanic contributor and Editor in Chief of Sandboxx News)

Give a Felon an AWACS to aim at while even moderately stealth with only a single fighter escort from +100 miles with AWACS killer missiles is more of a setup to test GS as a pilot than show the Felon's lethality. That was the Felon's comfort zone.
Just saw a report that India rejected the SU-57 because it didn’t meet their requirements for stealth and avionics. If that is true, then the Felon’s capabilities seem quite overblown
I guess I have to wonder about the potential for a stealth AWACS plan, given the number of people in that plan and its apparent survivability. However, I do not know if running such a large radar defeats your stealth. An even bigger question is if DCS really captures the decoys and other counter measures that an AWACs can deploy.
A stealth AWAC might work in the sense it may reduce the physical signature of the airframe, but if any bogeys are carrying anti radar missiles, its outa luck lol.
I must admit, while you were sticking close to your AWACS as he was climbing, I was thinking..."GS! You gotta extend out on the threat axis! Those guys need every second you can give 'em! The issue I had with this episode is the AWACS would not have been allowed to be within range of an R37. They would have moved this aircraft, which besides having 24 crew on board, is immensely valuable to keep within range of the R37.
Always thought that the AWACS should have offensive capability. Yeah, they’re a giant neon sign in the sky, but they also have much better means (more powerful radar/detection equipment), so the only thing needed is development of slightly longer range platform than the bandit your fighting against.
Random idea: imagine an AWACS equipped with targeting systems and long-range missiles, so it could get it’s own kills. It’d be pretty scary to fight against, but if it wouldn’t be too hard to kill if you could just get close enough
An awacs with missiles to take out other awacs...hmmmmmmm Wouldn't have to do much just get one or two key targets to make the fighters have less to deal with and also hinder the other fighters situational awareness.
If I'm close enough I like to lob an amraam to the enemies direction when I'm forced to defend, even if I don't have a lock, its surprising how many times it helps to my advantage
Well bear in mind this sort of scenario only happens if things were going horribly for the AWACS side. It should be comfortably behind the "line" with protection.

Radar works in both directions, to a degree. So no, a stealth AWACS would probably defeat it's own purpose.
