I did some work on a Kit/DIY Flying V Style Guitar that is not only much larger than a standard Gibson Flying V but also utilizes the Fender Scale Length (25.5"). A Gibson Flying V is about 19" from the bottom of each wingtip. The Kit/DIY instrument I worked on was almost 22" for the same measurement. The larger body also greatly increases the overall length of the guitar. Biggest PITA was finding a case for this style/size guitar, I spent almost a week looking with the help of my Sweetwater Sales Rep. and finally found a nicely padded Gig-bag originally intended for a Bass Guitar.
Aside from being a Chibson style guitar this example is pretty cool. It would greatly benefit from a proper setup and new pickups/electronics.
Let me know if you need a case for this guitar Austin, I can go through my records and send you the model number.

No one, even Trogly, is saying that a guitar is “crap” JUST because it is made in China (or anywhere else outside the US for that matter).
Every guitar maker who builds guitars in California is REQUIRED by state law to post the cancer warning on their products if it contains any of a very long list of items that the state has determined could cause cancer. Most (if not all) guitars will have something (if not multiple things) on that list.

The Purple ESP M-series Buckethead used in the mid-90s will always be the secondary guitar I associate with him after the custom Les Paul. Look up the 2-29-1996 performance of Scraps to see him using it. Also the Praxis concert in Poland. He also used an early 80s Ibanez Rocket Roll II that was on some amazing Praxis live shows. His tone in the 90s on those two guitars was incredible.

Okay so i'm doing some logical guesswork here since i've been interested in the KFC V for years, but going off my knowledge of Jackson guitars, BHs Jackson isn't a Y2KV at all, in-fact it's a complete one of kind body style just for Buckethead. What it looks like is a baritone (I assume), Jackson Double Rhoads, with the Y2KV/Gibson-esque body rounding.
Both Coop and KFC are 26 frets too which is why the neck pickup looks so squashed toward the bridge pickup, with no room for anything but a single coil if you were to put a middle pickup in.
So to explain, the Double Rhoads is a Jackson custom shop exclusive that you can't seem to even order on the normal Jackson CS order form. And it's exactly what you think it is, it's a mirrored RR, so the horns are longer than a normal King V, it's massive, and was the inspiration for the King V.
Recently, Pat from Cannibal Corpse, and Mick from Slipknot both have them, and Jackson seem to put out super limited runs of them on rare occasions, and to show off at NAMM etc.
It was originated by Dave Linsk of Overkill in the 80s who asked for "RR wings" on the CS form, then Robbin Crosby from Ratt wanted one, and soon after he got his and everyone started wanting one, Jackson came out with the production model King V which was a shortened down version of the DR suited for regular sized people, and apparently named after Robbin's nickname "King" (cause he was really tall) because he really popularised the Jackson V while playing his DR live with Ratt in their heyday.
So the Double Rhoads was the precursor to the King V and was never in mass production, and as such are pretty rare and expensive.
But the reason I think BHs is a DR/Y2KV hybrid is the way the body tapers up into the neck, and the V shape and depth.
The Y2KV has that '50's Gibson V thing where it really flattens off horizontal where the neck joins the body so there's nothing in the way of the upper frets, whereas Buckets V just keeps on going up to about the 20/21 fret like the DR does (and later King V). The DR normally has beveled edges and is pointy, which is where the Y2KV body rounding comes into play and why most people call it a Y2KV. The V also doesn't cut as deep into the body as the Y2KV does, and the V spreads more like the DR. The distance from the bridge to bottom of body is also more akin to the DR than a Y2KV, plus I don't think i've ever seen a hardtail DR, whereas the Y2KV with a Floyd was like gold dust, and the Floyd was almost falling out the arse end of the guitar because there was almost no body left once it was routed in which is not at all how BHs guitar is. Buckethead's control layout is completely unlike any Y2KV or DR that i've ever seen though.
And just incase you're curious, the pickups in the KFC V are DiMarzio X2Ns, ridiculously high output monsters, no clue what's loaded in Coop.
What i'm trying to get at here, is that Buckethead's Jackson Vs seem to be far more of a custom job than one might think at first glance. To me the Jackson KFC-V is a custom shop, 26 fret, probably baritone, Double Rhoads, w/ Y2KV body rounding.
Obviously the only way to really know what's going on is to see the order sheets for both Coop and KFC but I doubt that will ever happen.
Here's a few photos/video of some DRs for reference:
    Mick Thomson DR: images.equipboard.com/uploads/source/image/44849/big_13557000_1616492055329088_915832226_n.jpg

Good question. They actually did make a Flying V with a non-reverse Explorer headstock in the 80's (the Flying V XPL). They also made various guitars with reverse and non-reverse explorer headstocks (the M-III, the Flyer Pro II, the Les Paul XPL, etc.). Unfortunately, Gibson's design department seems very risk-adverse in recent years.

Licensed Floyd Roses tend to be garbage, but if you look into older Ibanez Floyd Rose Style bridges, they'll have that too, since Ibanez only slightly modified the original Floyd Rose design.

Someone probably ordered it custom(from China) and then did some work on it. I have seen enough of these Chibsons to know even they wouldn't send it out with taped up splices. Solder is cheap and the workers know how to wire them properly. Really the only problem is the Jackson branding since it was never an official signature release. The bridge would work fine if set up properly. Whoever had it didn't know what they were doing obviously, hence the taped up splices and half assed attempt at blocking the trem. For about $4-500 they will build a guitar however you want them too based off a photo/instructions. If these were actually for sale I am sure they would be seen pretty often because there are always people willing to buy a cheap knockoff when they can't afford the real thing.

There was one one eBay a week ago. Probably find one on reverb too. Better be packing a wad of cash. Gibson baritones don’t come cheap.

the thing about the stripes is to my knowledge KFC hasn't used that style of bucket in 20 years ot more. So honestly I think they could get away with it, might have minimal royalties to pay which would ultimately drive consumer price up. At the end of the day, if the get the specs right people will buy it.

Maybe your guitar plug is pulling away from the jack contact intermittently. I’ve see that happen more than once with cheap input jacks.

Bought one of these a couple months off feebay. Not bad for the price…$300 shipped. Depending on seller you can negotiate a little bit. Hate Floyd’s but love Buckethead so went for it. Plan on blocking the Floyd and upgrading Pups.

Buckethead is a mind blowing guitarist, a modern day Jimi Hendrix if you like.
Had a feeling those Buckethead Les Pauls would have a very district sound to them
