      Luthien looks more & more like a Jedi. @16:51 that looks suspiciously like a light sabre to me, if you just note the shape, not the color or the way it is being held by Saul's man. Saw in this show has been the bridge between the character in the animation, and the character in Rogue One. It's the path from what everyone is most familiar with, to what everyone got in the movie. And it's so believable and smooth, despite the chaos of the transition.

    22:09 That Imperial standing there in disbelief was so good. Who knows how long that ship will be in dock for repairs, 4 of his better pilots dead. All because he wanted some "practice" on the dude in the unassuming looking space honda.

    • @MercenaryPen

      the thing is, he was probably right about needing the practice... the imperial navy has had very little experience with anything since mopping up after the clone wars. I think it was smart on his part to want to "practice" on this haulcraft, even though it backfired horribly.
      It would have been a simple boarding and inspection. But this was Luthen Rael he had caught, and an inspection would *not* have gone down well for him.
      Training is no substitute for experience. How often would this one arrestor cruiser actually come across a ship that was too suspicious to ignore?

    Regarding the scene with Mon Mothma's daughter doing the ritual, it feels like they're showing that the daughter might be keen on the idea of an arranged marriage. So it would mean that it would be easy for Mon Mothma to agree to Sculdun's terms, and that may smooth out her relationship with her daughter, but for the wrong reasons. Maybe that's why Mon Mothma is still reluctant to go through with the deal with Sculdun.

    • @eduardoarmenta9232

      She also knows than Perrin would agree to the marriage as well, he wouldn't care about the political consequences of accepting Davo's proposal. Just the fact he's one of the wealthiest people in Chandrila should be enough for him.

    • @leroy1154
      @leroy1154 Рік тому +7

      It could go the other way too. The reading I get on Leida is that she dislikes her mother because she thinks her mother is only interested in her career and appearing to be a good person to the public. If she finds out that Mon stands to gain something she needs from the marriage, she might be a bit less enthused about it. But on the flip side, if Mon was to lean heavily on "you don't have to do this..." it might just encourage her to do it as a "screw you mum!" act of teenage rebellion.

    8:00 That's probably an indication of just how long Brasso has known Bee for. I think it's a fair assumption to make that Brasso has known Cassian/the Andor family since he was a boy and hence has known Bee for that long as well. There's a very good chance that he and Cassian played games with Bee when they were kids. Like you can imagine a young Cassian and Brasso playing with the toy Bantha and some toy Sand People while they pretend Bee is a Krayt dragon or something. So you could look at it as Bee being Brasso's best friend's dog. Now compare that to everyone else we've seen where even the closest organic-droid relation were formed as working relationships when the organic was an adult.

    Which also leads me to the following conspiracy theory :) ... is Luthen a force-sensitive? A Guardian of the Whills maybe? Is that why he hates the Empire so much? 14:20 not just prepping for an arranged marriage, but prepping for a marriage as a YOUNG teen. Remember, when Perrin and Mon arrived on Coruscant and she was 16, they had already been married for a YEAR, so they got married when Mon was just 15 years old. So when Mon told Davo Skulden she doesn't necessarily approve of "that tradition," and this was after the point when he specifically said he was not asking for a betrothal, I think the tradition she didn't approve of was teenage marriages. I don't get the feeling her own marriage was necessarily arranged; she spoke fondly of the way Perrin was such a firebrand during his academy years before saying with regret, "How things change." I think she was allowed to choose her own husband, but encouraged to do so far too early in life. I think she has realized that teenagers are far too immature to marry because they are not done forming their personalities and opinions yet and becoming the people they are going to grow up to be. And evidently Chandrila doesn't do divorce, otherwise Perrin and Mon would have split by now since they are CLEARLY not getting along anymore.
    This could explain, too, why Leida gives her mother so much attitude now, because she's 13 now and, as Davo says, "will soon come of age," so she's looking at Mon like "Hey, I'm basically an adult now and I can get married in a year and have my own house and do my own thing, so I don't need to listen to you anymore."

      I mean, it may not be that Chandrila "doesn't do" divorce so much as there's a social taboo. On the other hand, Leida may not need to worry, because if the marriage starts going wrong, I wouldn't put it past Vel to arrange for Leida's future husband to have a fatal accident

      I disagree. There's really nothing there. If Maarva were murdered then B2 would know about it and would absolutely be telling everyone. The first shot we see in Ferrix is the close up of the cup of tea on B2's head.

    I think they should show Kino as a Decraniated worker. Think about how demoralizing it would be for Cassian to try to rescue Kino in a future arc only to find his friend a mindless drone still making Death Star parts alongside similarly augmented prisoners. A result of the prison break would mean a severe Empire retaliation and drastic measures taken to get the battle station going.

    So when Cassian and Melshi are like "Nah we escaped. We were prisoners we hate the empire! They were forcing us to work." the fishermen were like "You know what? Yeah.... fuck the Empire! Where you do wanna go? We'll give you a ride!"

      You don't establish a super sad story of a son needed to leave and an aging mother getting sick, needing to stay and put that much emotional investment into her impending death which we all knew was coming due to PLOT POINTS just for it to be a fakeout. That's just bad writing and a disregard for emotional investment which loses the audience for all that concern and tears from us to be meaningless. We'd have no reason to care anymore. Maarva died not giving up on the dream, being alone in thinking rebellion was happening on her planet. Trying to help it come by opening up the tunnel alone. I mean, how does one not understand this without being a shell of a person who's felt nothing from Maarva and Cassian's interactions with each other?
