- How do you work cables in a second color and in the round? With intarsia in the round. This is a demonstration of working cables in a second color.

One would think that knitting content creators would have included this technique in their videos, but it is, surprisingly, difficult to find! I have pattern books that I use for reference, and I am very thankful for them, but it does take longer to learn that way. Thank you, so much for making this available with such clear, concise explanation and demonstration! I am so excited to try this on my next pair of socks! I am creating my own coordinated themed sweater, scarf, hat, gloves, and sock combination for men, as we have precious few patterns that are designed with us men in mind, and this will certainly enable me to make my vision a reality, thanks to you! I liked and subscribed, too!

If you can knit cables, you can knit them in the round. I made candy cane socks once that weren't as complex as Suzanne's cable. Start with a simple cable & soon you'll be making all kinds of things.

Hello Suzanne, in one of your ITAG-video's you wondered if intarsia in the round was mentioned in Priscilla A. Gibson-Roberts's book 'Ethnic Socks & Stockings'... Well, it does on page 84 and following... Incidentally, Cat Bordi in her book 'Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles' - besides explaining two techniques - refers (on page 40) also to Elaine Rowleys's 'Socks Socks Socks' for yet another technique for intarsia in the round (on page 60)... once again I thank you for sharing your knitting knowledge on UA-cam... I've watched all your ITAG related video's... It truly is a wealth of techniques, which helped me considerably.

...have you ever thought of designing highway interchanges ? no complicated stitches just simple knitting in the round ...it's all about yarn management ...I think ...maybe ...sort of

I had a vision of this and had no idea how it was done, now I have to find out how to start the beginning of one. Thats 2 balls of yarn for the braid/red color, one for each side? This was very enlightening. Thank you.
Yes, but you just need long strands. I usually use 4 feet or so, and then when I need to add more length, I splice more on, rather than making knots or having to weave in more ends.

Thank you for all of your videos. You are an amazing teacher. When you start the cables, I am assuming that you do not need to double the yarn like you do when knitting flat? Or does it depend on the cable?
You can start them with the yarn folded in half. Each half of the yarn will go to a different leg. So you are not knitting with a double thick yarn. Happy knitting.
Would you be able to make a pattern/chart of this video available on ravelry? I don't need a whole sweater pattern, just the intarsia cable in the round part! It's so beautiful.
