Suzanne Bryan!! I'm sooooo happy to have found your channels! Learned from them all day yesterday, and am (for me) making this brief because I'm now going to try embroidery on a cabled hat. Thank you so much! Thank you for sharing your expertise, not taking the shortcuts, showing/explaining the details, caring about the "wrong" side, etc. etc. etc.! And thanks for a very well produced tutorial!!
Thank you, Suzanne, for another great confidence-building lesson. The way you break it down, explaining the why and how while you demonstrate, and your calm and encouraging voice came together to instruct and inspire. I have 2 sweaters that I wanted to add embroidery to, but I didn't have the expertise or the courage. Now I will try it. You are a very good teacher as well as a generous master hand knitter. Thank you.
You're amazing!! I used to knit many years ago and stop for many other years, but I always love it. I'm starting knitting and crocheting again, but I need to remove all the dust from my brain and learn a lot more! Thank you so much for all you're sharing. I need a tutorial on how to make a sweater from start to finish to remember each part. I wish you started a nice good year!! Thank you so much!
I do have lots of videos on how to knit sweaters. Just keep watching my videos. You will find them. Or you can Google - Suzanne Bryan - sweaters. Happy knitting.
Wow that looks so beautiful Thanks for such an excellent video. I also made a black cardigan with all over chain stitch embroidery but that was 10 or 12 years back I still have that sweater and it's my favourite 😊 Keep on making many more videos like this 👍👍👍
This is so amazing. Impeccably explained tutorial for those of us just starting. I absolutely love the look, and the variegated yarn you're using is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing, Suzanne!!
You are so welcome, LB! And thank you so much for the lovely feedback! ❤️ I hope you've subscribed to my channel and please check out my Facebook page (same name), it is filled with supportive knitters of every level and we love to help beginners!
Thanks Suzanne. Embroidery has been always such a complicated castle to do - for me. After looking your video looks so fantastic and much easier! Amazing!
Absolutely stunning! You are the BEST teacher I have ever watched on UA-cam, they should employ you to teach others how to do it. Do you have a project you recommend that would be good to practice some of your techniques on? All I do is knit prem baby hats which are just ribbing (and now thanks to you I will be able to actually sew them up). You have inspired me to try something new. Thank you.
Always new things to learn about knitting. I hope to get started with the embroidery in my cable pillow next week. The color of yarn you are using is just beautiful. :)
I'm thinking of embellishing my ITAG sweater with some of these techniques. It was cold enough to wear my wonderful sweater today. Thanks for helping me to make a beauiful sweater that fits!
That would be lovely. This will also work for the upcoming ITAG Bottom Up Drop Shoulder KAL that will be starting, probably after the first of the year.
This just stunning what colored yarn are you using I love the different colors it has in it. Gosh you just might have started something cable are just OK but this puts another light on them. WOW must have this yarn
Beautiful ! The Malabrigo Mecha Diana you mentioned I tried to find but can only find it in Malabrigo Mechita Diana..is that too fine a thickness? It looks like the Diana cor comes in Rios or other terms relating to thickness? Not sure which one to get
Thank you! Absolutely perfect timing as I was thinking of embellishing many Christmas stockings but have nver worked embroidery on my knitting and was perusing the right way. Now I know! Was thinking of working small areas in crewel, do you think the yarn will stay in place? I've thrown everything but the kitchen sink into 20+ stockings in order to make each one different. Do you do roositud as well?
The only think you need to be concerned with is your tension on the embroidery. If you pull too tight it will pucker the underlying fabric. If I am working on a light fabric, such, I may even use a little tearaway stabilizer on the WS of the fabric to keep everything tidy. Crewel looks very nice. I would love to see your stockings. Are you in my FB group? Knitting with Suzanne Bryan? You could post some pics there. Happy knitting.

@@SuzanneBryan I'll definitely try this technique out. This technique has it's origins in Western Austria in the Tyrol Region
Thank you! I just love this and have been dreaming about making a heavily cabled short jacket with embroidery like this!

This is helpful, but how do you anchor the embroidery at the beginning and the ending?
I weave in the ends like this - ua-cam.com/video/Dvi5z8zyrag/v-deo.html

How do I use these embroidery techniques to "write" text on a sweater?
