"War cry for Peace" perfectly said.
This album came out in the 90s. It was a huge part of my high school soundtrack. It's referring to the war in Ireland after the IRA killed 2 children in Warrington. It's an anti-terrorism and anti-war song...I have less and less hope that it will ever not be relevant in present day.
Yes. This world makes me cry.
You got a lot out of this however she is referring to the Irish resistance fighting against the British since 1916 (correct me if I'm wrong) just coincidental that it looks like WW1.
The easter rising 1916 Dublin Ireland
Her singing "Zombie" she is talking about everyone (public, police, government, para-militaries etc.) who let such a violent conflict continue for decades as if it was completely normal. The song remains relevant because of all the conflicts still going on but it is ironic that as many reactors I have watched react to the song it is rarer than gold to find one that knows anything about the conflict that actually sparked the song, even though the signs are prominently displayed with videos of the signs displayed on walls...
That unique sound she makes with her voice is called 'keening'. It's an Irish thing. From Wikipedia, it's "a traditional form of vocal lament for the dead in Gaelic Celtic tradition".
Ирландия до сих пор борются с Англией
Do bad wolves version of this! She was meant to be doing it with em but she died on the day is was going to be recorded! There video is a memorial to her it's awesome!
It's the Easter Uprising not world war one. The uprising was 24th ~ 29th April 1916 nearly 108 years ago. rest in peace Dolores...
UA-cam is 14 years 😂 this song is from the 90’
First AJ...then Pink Floyd...now The Cranberries? (My favorite band of the '90s.) Have you been stalking me? ;) (If so, I hope you're enjoying Boston!). Keep the reviews coming!! RIP, Dolores.
RIP Dolores
1916 has a different meaning to the Irish. Check the history
