The Rebel Pilot then went on to have a very successful career with the empire; reaching the rank of captain before retiring with 20 years of service, and full benefits.

HOLY CRAP ITS LINDY RANDOMLY COMMENTING ON A STAR WARS FAN FILM. lol i did not expect to see you here and to think i was watching one of your vids just 15 minutes ago.
This is probably one of the best SW fan films iv'e seen overall. The others tend to try to get really flashy with their story or with the fight scenes; but in the end it really doesn't feel like SW. This one told a simple story that felt like it can be apart of the SW universe, great acting, great costumes and great visuals. Terrific work!!!
The camera work, the music, the visual grain, the color palette, the stop motion, the setting, the story... this is the closest thing I've seen to the original trilogy since the original trilogy.
Lightsabers are great when they are saved for special moments, not used all the time. This goes for pretty much everything in film that you want to maintain it's charm. You don't overdo it. In Empire Strikes back, Luke only uses it for about 5 seconds when he defends himself from being eaten, a second time for about 5 seconds when he slices open the AT-AT and then maybe 60 seconds tops when he ventures into the cave with the vision of Vader. Essentially, they save the lightsaber for the good shit at the end... Vader and Luke's duel, which remains the greatest lightsaber sequence in any of the films or animated series.
It's quite obvious that a LOT of effort and care went into the making of this fan film; the attention to detail in the costumes, props, effects & environments. Great job, folks!
I think one more establishing shot of the pilot spotting the trooper somewhere in the distance would prevented all confusion why there is just an imperial storm to his feet out of nowhere. Besides that, gerat film! Love the scenario. Just reminds me of WWII pilots who crashed on enemy ground. Such destinies make Star Wars much more graspable.
+Louis Clegg It is also Facebook's fault. When you share a video uploaded to Facebook, it auto-plays and appears like full width. On the other hand, when sharing a youtube video, you just have an static small and squared image.
It would not justified if this film is watched on the cell phone. Theatrical quality deserves at least 40 inch TV hook up and big sound. Congratulations to the Blood Brother Film.
happygoluckyscamp - They might still “make it”, but “they” are not the LucasArts that created SW. George isn’t there and there are now the Disney bosses to please. The name is the same, the product is... lacking. Shorts like this and The Lost Pilot feel more SW then any of the Disney movies
I thought there would be more of an "enemy mine" vibe, little bit of insulting and fighting in the beginning but then they help each other... until they are finally picked up by an imperial patrol. she returns to the imperials but does not give him away, he watches from a hide-out as she rejoins her squad not overly enthusiastic... but great work here! I really liked it!
Hmm, things I liked... stop motion animation and good use of Holst's planets suite. Things I disliked... not long enough. This deserved to be feature length. Am I asking too much? Probably. Good job, this was very well done.
"I sure do hate those rebels, don't you guys?" "Ya, we do, hey, when did you become a man?" "Uh, Frostbite... my boobs fell off and I grew a beard and a penis to survive?"
Yeah, you can see the amount of effort that individually each department went to to get these results. Beautifully captured, wonderfully realised, the attention to detail with the wardrobe and props were incredible and I personally loved the slightly quirky stop frame feel to the visual effects. Really enjoyable.
I was hoping Episode VII was more like this! I love the look, feel, style... It completely fits in with Episodes 4, 5, and 6. The only constructive criticism I have is that the digital smoke looks off, as if it's not to scale, and that the stop-motion of the AT-AT walkers is a little clumsy and off-putting. Other than that, OUTSTANDING WORK!
Interesting using the Planets as the music since John Williams is often criticized as borrowing elements from a lot of those pieces for the Star Wars soundtrack. This was pretty damn good overall.
In my opinion Star Wars should look like an 80s movie and not how modern movies look. There’s something fantastical and larger than life about the quality of those original three. It would almost be a artistic choice at this point to use the cameras they used back then
WOW ! This is by far my favourite Star Wars fan film. I love the quality of the camera and the way that you made it a modern interpretation of the original Star Wars films by using certain details. Brilliant 🙌🏽🙌🏽. Am still hoping for a second one
I guess I shouldn't be asking why this is sooooo much better then the current batch of Star Wars films. This is made from love and admiration, not on making a two hour Kenner commercial. Two paws way up!
Great work! Nice touch too with the stop motion. In this case, if it didn't look better than a CG model might have, it's got a hell of a lot more charm, you went with the right approach. This was great; a nice simple atmospheric tale that expands the Star Wars universe. This is the kind of material the upcoming Spin-Offs should be centered on. It looks like they're doing that with Rogue One but all the Han Solo stuff sounds like pandering fan-fiction. Stories like this are far more interesting because they add something new and might give added weight to materials elsewhere.
Wow, what a difference real locations makes! Really awesome film, just a couple small things: - Love the stop motion, but if you do more scenes with the AT-ATs, try to give them a better sense of weight. This one appears too "light" because the main body isn't moving up and down enough to mimic the giant lumbering quality of something that large. - Why didn't the imperial radio for help? Was his blaster shot supposed to fry her communication device on her chestplate? I found it a little odd that she just sat there really silently without doing anything, or attempting to call for help. Troopers are always quick to signal for reinforcements when they're in trouble. - I know it's supposed to be "acting" but the long pause inbetween him checking her and her finally talking is too long. We're pretty much expecting her to say "get it over with" anyway, so sooner rather than later would be best. Sometimes overly-pregnant pauses like this can hurt amateur/fan films. Other than that though, a really wonderful job. Great sense of tone, and good musical choices.
+Miguel Mora These are really minor things in the grand scheme of the film. I'm just saying if this kind of stuff can be considered for their next film, it'd make it even better.
+Eji i get you dude, all i am trying to say is there are other people who think they did an awesomw job but could care less about those little details. i am not saying you are wrong or anything, you are entitled to an opinion. and i do not think they are making another film because of how much effort it takes and they only wanted to do one film to pay tribute to the originals
ONE OF THE BEST STAR WARS (& ANY FRANCHISE) FAN-MOVIE I'VE SEEN! *Love the concept, & great job in the execution on the video itself! THIS IS LITERALLY NOVEL AND MOVIE-MATERIAL IN MY BOOKS!!
That Mars part of the Planets suite at the end, great choice. We all know that Williams was *heavily* inspired by it, but yea, even the original fits perfectly.
Anyone who gives this a negative thumbs down doesn't know FILM. But, i'm glad to see that most viewers are recognizing the great work they did in this fan film :) I felt the characters. I felt their hopelessness and not just from the acting, but also how it was filmed--the pacing. I love how smart and clever this is. I love that they knew that you dont need a lot of dialogue to make a scene, let alone a whole film-classic silent films have shown us the brilliance of that. There is so much here, with there being so less. Yes, great work guys!
+Christopher Craig My film/acting teacher used to say "When you do something (acting, filming, writing, etc) don't do it to impress your friends, your family or yourself. Try to please a complete stranger. If you can achieve that, you've done a great job." This film belongs to that first group (friends & family... in this case the Star Wars fans family). Most S.W. fans appreciate most aspects of this film so much they go in denial about the whole pacing problem. If you show this to a non Star Wars fan, they would probably tell you the same: "Great location, great acting, great special effects, etc.....boring story." Again, we're not criticizing everything. Just the boring speed.
And, thats were our opinions are differing. I didnt look at this as a full story, but rather part of a much bigger one-like a 9 min clip from a movie. Fan films dont usually have the money to tell at a more full length, especially at the level of quality we got in just these few scenes. Thinking about this again, maybe they should have presented this as a "fo-film clip", to convey the feeling of what I was saying?
Interesting idea. I do wonder how he managed to strip the Imperial snow trooper, though. Seems like something that was glossed over pretty quickly near the end, but I get that the ending wouldn't have as effective with that scene spliced in. Overall, I enjoyed the landscapes and cinematography here. Nice job! A different type of Star Wars.
+English Lessons with Alex (engVid AlexESLvid) Its perfect! Its a homage to spies changing out uniforms with their capture in so many films--they never show that, for good reason--its also a homage to when Luke and Han did it in A New Hope. You never saw how they changed the outfit, but you did see who they got it from.
+Christopher Craig while I would agree with you I have a problem with how the uniform changed was portrayed. The rebel walked long enough for a day to pass (we see a night sky behind him in one scene). Then after we sees the imperials he changes uniforms. He would have had to go a long way to get back to the wounded imperial to do that. I would have preferred either a shorter walk or scenes showing him taking the time to go back for the uniform. Other than that a great fan film.
I really like the use of Holst's The Planets suites. Blends in with the environment very well, especially considering that John Williams used Holst's work as inspiration for some of his pieces in Star Wars. Bravo and cheers!
There's no way he can convince the people in command that he's one of them. When they didn't find his name or number he'd be dead. Therefore I think he killed the three on the ground, made his way inside the AT-AT, killed THEM, and took it over for the Rebels!
Pretty sure the point of the film is that he chose the only option that gave him a chance of survival, no matter the cost. So in that regard doesn't really matter if he succeeds or not
This is awesome. The visuals are so good. It really feels like Empire Strikes Back. And the pacing is just right, unlike some people wrote. Though the wipe transition at 3:40 is really confusing, because you assume some time has passed. And it's a bit weird is that the woman soldier didn't have a communication device. Other than that well done. The twist is very effective too.
I like how they used the film quality of the Empire Strikes Back.
Yes!
Either that or they just did a bad job with the 3D-Tracking :P
They recreated specific kinds of effects, but the quality is certainly not stuck in the 80s. I'm sure they used very modern equipment.
I agree! Very nostalgic and refreshing

I got more enjoyment and emotional response watching this than the Last Jedi.
Darth maul apprentice best on check it out
@@canicemccarthy7873 You really gonna copy paste the same garbage opinion on every comment?
The camera work, the music, the visual grain, the color palette, the stop motion, the setting, the story... this is the closest thing I've seen to the original trilogy since the original trilogy.
This whole just switching uniform thing only works in movies as they never have to show an ID card.
I'm sure he convinced her to share her identification number with him, and who knows maybe they have transgenders in that galaxy.
Seems like you'd require a movie just to show him switching up the uniform. Would have been more believable if he killed her.
You know what? Thumbs up just for the exclusion of a god damn lightsaber!
ikr
Take a look at this fan film, no lightsabers also: ua-cam.com/video/3nCFrRZ2JCc/v-deo.html
Fine As Wine Exactly!! The over use of Jedi can take away the many other great things about star wars
Fine As Wine... Blasphemous hater of God.
watching this again - the vfx work really makes it look like star wars. its so ridiculously good.
TBH, that looks exactly like 'The Empire Strikes Back's movie quality.
Very well done! The stop motion was a nice touch, made it feel like TESB.
Amazing job guys... Huge props on travelling to that location it looked great.
I think you'll find it wasn't, how bout watching the bts footage
+MercurialRed it was on a real location, watch the Behind The Scenes on their webpage. :)
+MercurialRed actually i know for a fact it wasn't so how bout you think before you talk shit about something you could probably never do
+MercurialRed got told bud
The music by Gustav Holst fits perfectly, this fan film is so well done. Wish there was a sequel to this
Makes sense, really. Lucas was planning on using Holst for the soundtrack until his friend Spielberg introduced him to John Williams.
Fantastic work! The stop-motion really sold the whole project. Amazing job bringing everyone back to the desolate world of Hoth.
I think that the movie was great
I love that it gives off the classic 70's feel to it.
AN EXCELLENT 'SHORT'....we need MORE like these!
If the was shot on location 10 out of 10. It looked amazing.
Awesome work guys! People disliking this video probably don't realize the amount of work and effort put into this film
i bet that there are movies with a a thousand times higher budget that are worse
Wizurd you sir are correct
Lel I see what you did there
Yeah, TLJ
Episode 8 comes to mind.
Cough cough the last Jedi cough cough solo
Thank the maker, no tauntauns were harmed in the making of this masterpiece!
Awesome job Nguyen brothers!! The landscape shots were really impressive. Definitely left wanting more!!!
You guys should seriously look into making films, the style and the vibes I got while watching we're amazing.
There is some western mood about this , its like hateful 8 meet Rogue one
I felt the original trilogy vibe, best fan film yet!! You guys should be very proud!
Too bad facebook is stealing all the views from you guys
...
Psy Bawr there's some random guy repost it on facebook that got everyone shearing and already got over 74000 views.
+T2266 That shit grinds my gears. Just share the damn UA-cam link!
+Louis Clegg It is also Facebook's fault. When you share a video uploaded to Facebook, it auto-plays and appears like full width. On the other hand, when sharing a youtube video, you just have an static small and squared image.
+T2266 why dont they just share the dam video :/
***** your guess is as good as mine
0:44 Stop-Motion Animation ! How great to see this.
It would not justified if this film is watched on the cell phone. Theatrical quality deserves at least 40 inch TV hook up and big sound. Congratulations to the Blood Brother Film.
if this was a Disney film directed by JJ Abrams, the Millenium Falcon would show up for no reason
Yes
People keep saying Disney doesn't understand Star Wars. LucasArts still makes it.
happygoluckyscamp - They might still “make it”, but “they” are not the LucasArts that created SW. George isn’t there and there are now the Disney bosses to please. The name is the same, the product is... lacking. Shorts like this and The Lost Pilot feel more SW then any of the Disney movies
With a new communications array, gotta get those merch bux.
Stop motion animation on the probe droid and the ATAT, very nice. Very old school. Thank you so much for that.
There is more Star Wars in there than in any Disney Star Wars except for Rogue One.
Joe BILL exactly
And unlike Rogue One, this movie is creative enough to be its own thing and not rely on excessive fan service.
rogue one is shit tho
@@viperking6573 it has Donnie Yen in it, though.
@@TheAutumnWind_RN4L You are right, tho
this was really well done! I loved the way you recreated the stop motion animation feel of the AT-ATs from Empire! Great stuff
This is a bad film, just cos they used stop motion and have a fancy background does not make it good
I thought there would be more of an "enemy mine" vibe, little bit of insulting and fighting in the beginning but then they help each other... until they are finally picked up by an imperial patrol. she returns to the imperials but does not give him away, he watches from a hide-out as she rejoins her squad not overly enthusiastic... but great work here! I really liked it!
Hmm, things I liked... stop motion animation and good use of Holst's planets suite. Things I disliked... not long enough. This deserved to be feature length. Am I asking too much? Probably. Good job, this was very well done.
Best fan film I've seen yet, by far.
This was actually a good short story. Though few words were uttered, the acting was excellent.
I still can't get enough of this. The concept and the twist...I think I've watched this seven times already.🤘
Awesome job!
Why does this not have more views!?!?
+mandokomixkid It's called Facebook ;)
+moprmisc fuck Facebook. I don't need to see all those retards posting worthless selfies
+mandokomixkid Exactly!
John Williams: i’ve got to compose a way of interpreting space in the form of music, but i have no idea how
Gustav Holst: Here
John Williams: okay
"Hello fellow empire mates."
"I sure do hate those rebels, don't you guys?"
"Ya, we do, hey, when did you become a man?"
"Uh, Frostbite... my boobs fell off and I grew a beard and a penis to survive?"
welcome
This is like a star wars twilight zone episode lol
BatBrickFlicks YES. Good call
I wish you guys would make a full length film of this short.
Great job, this is one of the best short SW fan films. Very professional.
I’m SOOOO glad I got this in my recommended - 10/10 would watch again

Review: Darth Vader - "I find your lack of dialog disturbing."
Kudos for stop motion animation.
This has to be a netflix series
this is the closest to the Original trilogy we will ever get! Fabolous work! Awesome Stop motion!
Thanks for subtittle :D With english subtittle it's easier to understand for strangers ;) great film :) !

Best fan film I've ever seen.
I dont know why, but the lack of words or narration makes this story better. Good work.
Really enjoyed that! Well done guys. Well done!
TheXPGamers wow you here
Wow, what a difference real locations makes! Really awesome film, just a couple small things:
- Love the stop motion, but if you do more scenes with the AT-ATs, try to give them a better sense of weight.
Great sense of tone, and good musical choices.
enjoy the movie bro! stop asking to many questions!
+Miguel Mora ... but I DID enjoy it. Constructive feedback is a good thing, you know?
Ya i understand that but it was just a little too much, you know?
This is absolutely amazing. How did I not discover this back in 2016
Absolutely loved this. Something about it just gives it that classic Star Wars feel that other fan films somehow lack.
But regardless, as fan films go, I bought what they were selling and I want more.
Amazing work!!! Really nailed the TESB feel, perfect!
I loved it! Ending with Holtz was great, especially given his work's influence on John Williams' SW music.
i was a bit confused at the part when the stromtrooper and the rebel pilot switched armour then it made sense to me. But still amazing movie!
+English Lessons with Alex (engVid AlexESLvid)
Its perfect! Its a homage to spies changing out uniforms with their capture in so many films--they never show that, for good reason--its also a homage to when Luke and Han did it in A New Hope. You never saw how they changed the outfit, but you did see who they got it from.
"set blasters to stun"
^and the imagination wins!
I wonder if they exchanged underwear
Just 20 seconds in but I see one GREAT thing already.... Finally a SW fan film that’s NOT 100% shot in a forrest! Bonus points!!
This is film is just... Star Wars at heart to be honest. It really feels like its made by Lucas.
It's just PURE beauty of the originals. It reminds me of back when I was a kid in the early 80's.
Man they are going to make him scrub an entire star destroyer for losing his gun like that
Thank you for using stop motion animation for the AT-AT walker. You healed part of the damage caused by these recent Disney SW films.
Id join the empir if she was on the recruiting poster
Empire
I'd mate with the umpire too.
If you think that you are okay with the kind of usmc and us army drill masters treating new recruit, thrn by all means..
AJ Usog would you go to school beforehand to learn to spell?
Good thing shes dead
You guys nailed everything. Congrats.

Anita Calloway how would he kill 43 men on his own?
And just where is he going with that AT-AT? He needs a ship, not a great hulking slow clumsy target
There's a reason why the film ended where it did. With this, it can retain its style.
Pretty sure the point of the film is that he chose the only option that gave him a chance of survival, no matter the cost. So in that regard doesn't really matter if he succeeds or not
yes and then flew away wearing a red and blue costume ...
Disney sucks!! This stuff that I'm watching on UA-cam is fantastic This is how Star wars should be made..
