I've been really loving your long hair but the cut looks great! I'm sorry it's been a tough road of late but it sounds like you got a plan 👍
Oh my gosh it’s been crazy. Definitely have a plan which feels doable & proven to work for me in the past🤞. Thanks for the encouragement. 💜💕💜
If you stopped minoxidil in December and started loosing your hair the same month, it wasn't minoxidil withdraw that caused hair loss. Whatever caused your December hairloss happened ~3 month before. And if you notice any hairloss now, that's caused by a minoxidil withdraw. Remember that is always 3 month of 'resting phase' between hair death and shedding.
I considered that, but from what I have read it can be as soon as 2-3 weeks and as long as 3-4 mo. after stopping minoxidil that shedding begins/continues. I am pretty sure it depend on how much hair is in Telogen (pre-shed/shedding) phase at the time of stopping minoxidil. Considering I had extensive growth from March (2023) to Dec. I am assuming much of my hair was heading to to it's normal shed cycle, usally Nov-ish and again in May-ish typically. I believe withdrawing the minoxidil at the start of December hastened what was to be a normal shedding And all at once around three weeks after stopping it I had a significant loss? Normally it would have shed slower over time but stopping minoxidil 3-4 weeks prior made the shedding occur faster..🤔 Food for thought .. thanks for your comment💜
Oh it looks so lovely - really thick too - gorgeous ❤
It’s slowly growing back to normal. Hopefully it will be even better by summer 😊
I love your pixie cut!
Thanks. I’m loving it. 😊
So cute ❤!
Glad you like the cut .. it’s definitely a change in the right direction 💕
The pixie cut looks great on you!
Aww thanks. I’m feeling like it was a good change. 💜💕💜
Love your pixi cut, you look beautiful! Thank you for all the info about hair loss😊🌸
Thanks for your lovely comment. Glad you found this video informative. 💜💕💜

Your new haircut suits you so well! How frustrating to have had to start over. But glad to see food progress being made. What are your thoughts about collagen and/or biotin internally?
Thanks Tina, yes so frustrating!! I've used Biotin supplements in the past with no luck at all. I just started introducing a peptide/collagen supplement. The main purpose is I realized i'm likely not regularly getting enough protein in my diet to support efficient hair growth. This was echo'd by my husband who usually poo poos supplements 🙄, but is in full support that i should add this into my diet. I also take Vit D supplements (I may increase this) and Lipid Vit C daily. Thanks for watching :)
I like your pixie ❤
Thank you 💜💕💜
I have the condition, it is very frustrating. The same with lashes, if you stop lash serum, they shed. Thank you for the information!
Thanks for sharing your story Clara. What have you worked? That’s helpful in the past. It’s such a marathon with hair loss!! Wishing you a wonderful weekend💜💕💜
@@beyond50skin I can't use anything with Biotin because I have thyroid issues. I use a massager when I wash my hair, and also on the days I don't wash my hair, I use it while I shower, I don't dye my hair as often, stopped using hot tools and started using cleaner hair products. I am going to start using the Rogaine again, I didn't like the fact that it make my hair a little crunchy. All the changes I have helped me in not loosing as much hair, but not really in regrowing any.
I think you look fabulous in a pixie cut - not everyone can carry the look and it suits you. I have the same condition and am wishing you much success on you hair journey. Informative and helpful content -- thank you!
Thank you so much! Wishing you good success on your hair journey as well. 💜
I agree, not everyone can wear the pixie look. I look like a horse, IMO. I need hair, at least to the shoulder. She pulls it off beautifully.
@@lynnees9828 Thank you💜
Hope you are successful. I had a major shed about a month ago. So traumatic. I did my own research and I'm on Vitamin D3 (50,000IU) a week for a month then will get some more, Biotin 5000, Magnesium 300, Zinc, FSC high head + multivitamin (K2 etc). For hair, I'm oiling it with Organic castor oil, Jamaican castor oil, rosemary oil and black seed oil, massage the head gently. I'm doing this 3 times a week and will cut down to 2 or even when I'm off work. The hair condition has improved so much. There are still a few strands that fall but much less now. I'm hoping it will start replenishing the hair. I didn't cut it just trimmed as have long hair and can hide more. Oh, and prayer!
Thanks for sharing your journey. i am just now adding castor oil into my pre treat hair oil routine. I like your oil treatment.. I cant use Jamaican castor oil because it turns my whit hair yellowish, but i will def. add a few drops of rosemary oil. I tired biotin and magnesium and CoQ10 but didn''t see much difference. That was a while ago ... perhaps i need to give it another go. Healthy hair growth takes a village! Thank you for watching and being part of the beyond50skin community💜
I have begun a supplement. I pray it helps. Need to look up a K2 food as I do not eat meat anymore. Thanks for your share.
Maybe try incorporating scalp massage 😊
Good tip. Increasing circulation can’t hurt. Personally, I don’t recommend plastic or even silicone scalp massagers for those of us with fine fragile hair. They cause too much tension on delicate hair. Fingertips are best 💕💜
IMO, the shorter hairstyle actually suits you much better :) It looks great ^_^
Thanks I’m really loving the change 💜💕💜
Thank you telling us about restarting minoxidil. Everyone that uses it swears by it's effectiveness.
Thanks for watching. There’s so much controversy over using minoxidil (“chemicals”). But honestly, I have been shocked by how much it was contributing to my hair growth & maintenance. The Calecim serum & microneedling gave it an extra boost this summer and certainly contributed to speeding thins up over the last 1O-12 weeks. The combination of the two seems to really work for me. 💜
Very helpful video! I always give up on Minixidyl because it seems like it gets my hair so dirty. I need yo look up your Minixidyl routine for your tips. And I still need to try colesum! Your new do is darling! ❤
💜💕💜… I need to do a tutorial on how I apply Minioxidil. I use the men’s 5% foam. I apply it upside down w/ the nozzle directly on my scalp along my part lines. I’ve perfected this over the years 🤪 and it actually works as a root booster - a little lift because of the foam. It’s never sticky. Perhaps a follow up video is warranted on Sunday💕💜💕
@@beyond50skin Thank you and yes please to a video! I purchased Minoxidil a month or so ago but have procratinated getting started because I recall it being so darn messy.
@@TamarasTimelessBeauty definitely messy. If you use the liquid I can’t figure out how to use it. Upcoming video tutorial 💜😅
@@beyond50skin I have the foam.
I use a DHT blocker and amazon sales a hair vitamin called Viviscal that is working for me. I was experiencing hair shedding but now my hair is so thick.
Yay!! Thanks for sharing. Which DHT blocker did you chose? So glad you have found what’s helping 💜💕💜
@@beyond50skin DHT blocker by Advanced Trichology off amazon is the best along with Viviscal. I am on HRT pellet therapy so I swear by the combo of these two. Within a month my hair has gotten so much thicker that my hairstylist hates to blow dry it. It takes an hour to dry my hair.
I love your video Cindy, & I too, have been using Minoxidil for almost the past year since I started loosing hair after getting Covid for 2 weeks, plus I am almost 77, & am probably dealing with Alopecia. I only use the Minoxidil once a day, with the foam, & that has really thickened up my hair. I would like to incorporate the Caliecim into my routine, without shedding hair. And then continue both on a maintenance program like you. Can I just add the Caliecim but continue to use the Minxidile? I have also used the Hairmax laser for about 5 years, & so far so good!!!! Thank you for your honest information & for sharing it with us!!~
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with hair loss and your results. Yes, you can use the Calecim system while you're still using Minoxidil. In fact I recommend it!! On my Calecim days I only use the Minoxidil AM, then Calecim PM. Thanks so much for watching, Wishing you a wonderful weekend. 💜
You're an inspiration!!! Thank you!!!!
@@beyond50skin
FYI, you are in a video on Odile Monodi channel. She is French living in Korea & works in the Korean skincare industry. My mother is 93. She has had very good results using iRestore. She started in September, and by February, her hair is much thicker.
Really I love Odile’s channel. I haven’t been getting notifications so assumed she’d taken a break from uploading. I will have to head over and make sure I’m still subscribed! YT every once in a while will randomly turn off notifications and subscriptions to my favorite channels 😤. Thank you for letting me know! 💜💕💜
Definitely, Minoxidil has proven effectiveness, microneedling too in the short run. I’ve used minoxidil for years. As Im headed to 60 it seems less effective or perhaps can’t keep up with my age related hairloss. I think the jury is out on the long term effects of regularly microneeling the scalp. Growths factors hold promise but more research is needed. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience. Definitely more research is needed! Glad to know minoxidil worked for you. I’ve heard it does start to slow down it’s effectiveness as you age so that’s very interesting. Wishing you a hair tastic day.!!
The problem with Minoxidil is that it is scientifically proven to mess with your heart.
From arrhythmia to increasing the times your heart beats.
@@M.Kabane Great reminder! Yes, there can be side effects. I personally have not experienced any with topical minoxidil but have a friend that can’t use it for the reason you mention. This is why I strongly recommend getting a diagnosis and treatment recommendations from a licensed medical provider, preferably one who has experience with treating hair loss. This is the first thing I did before trying anything.
Oh no. I've just started with minoxidil. But what you are saying might have to due with the scarring at the follicle. Just learned that as I suddenly noticed hair thinning. I am 68. The derm doctor said once scarred there is no regrowth so treatment early is best. I must get that appt made now! Who knew that overall body hair loss is a sign too, I have found.
I 100% agree with everything you said …minoxidil definitely decreased in its effectiveness as I approached my later 50s.
And very true, good point microneedling seems most effective in the short run. The long-term benefits are still ? and studies are needed. I know there’s one particular “advocate” for those suffering from hair loss that has concerns about the long-term effects of scalp microneedling, though he’s not a doctor I found out, so like you said the jury is out.
Definitely more research on growth factors is needed. They’ve been around for a while, but I do believe that the use for hair growth is somewhat new… fingers crossed we can keep our hair, healthy and happy and into our wiser years with all that we’re doing! It definitely takes a village and some tweaks along the way :)
….as well as a balanced diet. I’ve increased my protein intake recently. I don’t naturally eat a lot of protein, but I’ve been doing supplemental protein, which I’m hoping I’ll also be helpful. 💜
Hello! Do you use 1/2 vial of Calecim each time? I find that it's way too much and my hair is so greasy afterwards.
No I’m not saturating my head this time around. I have a tiny head so a box seems to be lasting longer than the six weeks. But I will stop 2x a week at 6 weeks anyway. I’ll used the extra vial for maintenance treatments … I find the shipping is quick, but will see how many maintenance treatments I can get before needing a reorder. Keep us posted on your progress 💜
Thank you so much for your reply and for sharing your story! @@beyond50skin
Did you take anything to block DHT since this happens after menopause?
Great question. I am open to trying supplement based DHT blockers (Pumpkin seed, Caffeine.Rosemary oil.Green tea,
Saw palmetto, Pygeum, Lycopene, Stinging nettle etc.) But have yet to find one that I am committed to trying. The search continues.
I wish I wasn't horribly allergic to minoxidil.
Oh what a shame. I was allergic to the excipient in one of the off brands. Took me a while to figure out. Eventually I switched back to the Rogaine brand and things sorted out. Have you found other solutions that help? 😊
Just curious, is Nutrafol not an option for the two conditions that attribute to your hair loss?
I’ve heard mixed reviews on Nutrafol. It’s certainly not out of the question to try. If you were to chose the next product you’d like me to try, would you say Nutrafol or rosemary oil? Perhaps I’ll put up a poll!! 😊
@@beyond50skin Nutrafol has amazing science behind it as well as many dermatologist recommend it. The support they provide is like no other. Free 45 min consultations with their physicians to help troubleshoot when necessary. It has helped with my menopausal hair loss.
@@beyond50skin ~ Personally, I hope you try adding organic rosemary essential oil next :)
@@Aurla-R2-D2 thanks for a vote for trying rosemary. Definitely take the pole in the community tab so your vote gets counted lol 😅
I can't find your review of biotin, sorry
Sorry I didn't do a review of Biotin. I used it years ago before staring a YoutTube channel. I just didn't notice any changes to hair, skin or nails etc from using it.
@@beyond50skin oh ok. I'm sorry it didn't help you. It helped me a lot. My nails always grew long but after surgery they didn't grow at all. After taking Biotin they are long and strong and my hair is near my waist. I had to cut my hair off because it got matted so badly in the hospital. I am 55
What is wrong with your LEFT eye? It looks so IRRITATED? i LIKE you better in your blue contacts instead lol
Haha, I had a blood vessel burst in my L eye.. It’s all healed up now. It was benign, not painful, fairly common from what my ophthalmologist told me. Agreed I like my blue contacts better too!
