    I'm so glad you started your channel, I've learned so much from you and LOVE your knowledge and transparency and acceptance of all view points. You certainly have chosen your treatments well...you look beautiful and healthy and natural and are aging very "gracefully". I put that in quotations because that word is thrown around a lot and is sometimes used as a judgment against people who choose to do treatments. To me aging "gracefully" is being comfortable in your skin whether or not you choose treatments. We are so lucky to have so many more options than previous generations...but research is key so thank you for sharing such great info and your personal experience...Like you I have always been super transparent and love to share...when I got my first Botox I loved it so much I sang the praises to all my friends and coworkers LOL. Thanks for another great video!

You know how much I care for you and appreciate your guidance and support over the last few years. You gave me the courage to share my story and passion. I am so “grateful” to YOU for introducing me to a wonderfully supportive and caring community of women💜

    I used to think I would never do any kind of procedure, then like you said, menopause happened! Now, I am kind of just learning and maybe at some point will have some "tweakments" like you said! Lol! I support women/men doing what ever they need to feel more confident in their bodies. And if you want to wash with a Dove beauty bar and only use moisturizer your whole life, that's great too!

    Complicated very worthwhile topic ❤❤❤ I view cosmetic procedures as extremely helpful options/adaptations for humans that now live much muuuuch longer. Women did not live with menopause for decades, but we do and will now. It’s a gift 🎁 all that time, truly!!! But also means we need to adapt to that, I think it’s about much more than just considering procedures but dealing with drastic changes to appearance is profound & complex and whatever tools and resources we devise are worth using if we can and want to. Ok I’ll shut up now lol. Thanks if you got to the end of this. Love you 💕💖🧡💕💖☀️

    Hi Cindy! I don't think there should be any shame attached to these things, I don't think it's a moral issue - as long as you can afford it. I think it's great and natural trying to improve one's skin, but I'm not keen on face lifts, lip fillers, sculptra, botox and all those procedures that actually change your features and change your expression. Having said that, it's a personal choice. If I could afford to do all those things, which I can't ☹, I wouldn't. I'd travel around the world, take up flying again (I took flying lessons when I was young and wish I had pursued a flying career), buy a little boat, start a cat shelter and do other things. I do think people should be honest though, if they're asked, and if they are promoting a lifestyle or products. I also think people should know where to stop or it becomes an obsession. Wow, this is a bit long! X Just one more thing...what do you think of hydrafacials? IF I could afford one, I think I would like one, I like the sound of them.

    Love your channel. I think we are on the same page as far as cosmetic procedures. I have had a few tweaks over the last 12 years and I think we're the same age. In 2009 my husband passed away far too soon when we were both in our 40s and that took its toll in every way. I found myself feeling like I'd aged 20 years during his brief illness and I desperately needed to feel better. I found a wonderful, empathic, gifted surgeon who helped me prioritize my goals. I did not have a full face lift but I had a "mini" which was life changing. I would not want to go through it again, but I'm happy I did. Now I maintain as best I can with in-office peels and botox. Fillers scare me so I avoid. I never want to lose perspective. I'd rather err on the side of caution and would rather look "old" than look "done". Balance. I truly applaud your willingness to share and help lift the stigma. xo!

      Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m sorry for your loss. Grief snd stress over our loved ones takes a tremendous toll on the body. You just reminded me that I almost lost my adult son, during this same time / early 50’s. I always blamed menopause for my abrupt aging. Your story just made me realize that stress clearly must’ve have been a major contributor as well! I don’t know why that never dawned on me 🤦🏼‍♀️
      I am so happy for you that you were able to find a wonderful surgeon and to have the courage to do what was right for you. Again thank you for sharing and for being part of this community. I know others will appreciate & find your story helpful as they navigate aging their way. 💜

    I would love to have a face lift but don’t know how to afford it. I’d love see the before and after with the ablative laser, could it be a more affordable version of a light face lift? Does it tighten as well as help discoloration?

    • @beyond50skin
      @beyond50skin  Рік тому +1

      Hi, face lifts are definitely expensive! I did a whole video on my ablative laser treatment ua-cam.com/video/Oly4enDeSIw/v-deo.html. I also put before and afters at the end of this video. It was a great option for me as I was not at all ready for surgery. Often plastic surgeons will add laser to the treatment as it resurfaces, removes pigmentation & refines the skin. If you’re interested in watching more of the cosmetic procedures that I had done for a full facial rejuvenation, you can watch this video as well. ua-cam.com/video/0vhjwehCJRI/v-deo.html

    Happy Tuesday 💕 I don’t get procedures for mostly financial reasons. That said many aren’t for me and I wouldn’t get them even if I could but I support each person’s decision to do as they wish!
    I wouldn’t say I judge others who get many procedures. My issue is I think many aren’t honest about why. They will say they “aren’t trying to look younger just better.” It’s a word game and it’s dishonest. Smoothing out wrinkles and lifting jowls improves the appearance because we look younger! No one wants to admit they’d like to look younger so they invent new ways to describe it and honestly it’s hard to respect those who can’t be honest. I think the judgment may lesson with increased transparency.

    • @beyond50skin
      @beyond50skin  Рік тому +1

      I appreciate your candor. Full
      disclosure, in retrospect I did want to look younger than my appearance at 50. I think it’s deeply wrapped up in self perception (at least for me) vs deception. I felt I was aging unfairly compared to peers. I was also extremely curious about advanced cosmetic procedures.
      I agree that judgement will lessen with increased transparency. This is the goal of my post and I appreciate your willingness to be part of the conversation💜

      @@beyond50skin I hope I wasn’t rude and you are certainly transparent! I think there are a whole lot of us who can’t even fathom having to think about procedures though. The average household income for a year in America is around 70k so not too many people are having extensive work done. When people get snippy responses online I think a lot of it is jealousy because the average person simply has to age gracefully on a limited budget.

    • @beyond50skin
      @beyond50skin  Рік тому +1

      @@merlie3880 Heavens no! You’re comment was not rude at all! What you state is a reality and I deeply appreciate it. Limited disposable income is in fact a primary barrier to many who might otherwise choose cosmetic procedures but cannot afford them. I think your points are valid and are important to talk about. It’s a critical point to acknowledge and to discuss.

    Thank you for this. I never wanted to do any cosmetic procedures. My appearance never mattered a lot to me. My work and my rescue work and other causes I care about and people and animals I love and making changes that make the world more like i feel it should be - all that was the center of my life. I’ve never really worn makeup - sunscreen and moisturizer has been it - unless I had to for work or an event. It can’t be anymore. The fact I look older is harming me. I can’t change the world. So I feel I must do something now as my age is impacting my career and I can’t retire at 50. I doubt I can be so open about it for the same reason I have to do it. It’s a comfort to watch this channel as my appointment fast approaches

      I made it through the full face/neck/chest Fraxel, and eye peel! My Derm also used Phenol on some parts of deeper wrinkles around my mouth, all this was on Tues 11/1, it’s now Saturday. Healing is on target, using Biopelle ampoules and Alastin nectar for post care, using a vinegar solution to wash with, and skin is beginning to shed. I’m so glad I did this as a pre skin cancer treatment after years as a child in the sun ☀️ (I still love you sun!) and of course the cosmetic benefits. My chest looks kinda gnarly, she went in deep on some of the irregular skin, it’s gonna take a full 2 weeks for that to heal, but I’m so glad and grateful I saved money to get this done! ✨👸🏻✨ I also swear by using my Oralift mouth device that is helping with clenching my teeth but also has a face rejuvenating effect. Love some good self care combined with healing old habits 🪄✨🥰
