Every video I watch makes me so excited for my next playing session, thank you for all the instructive tips over the course of many videos! One of my favorites to watch as well as Eric Rosen
I really like your lessons Alex, especially the tips that go beyond the position you're covering. Talking about slowing down, when not to take, etc. super helpful on a higher level
I have been dominating openings with this. I have either won by rage quits or lost by blundering down the road. Several I've blundered my queen and still won. Those feel the best.
Dude yes. His explanation of how to think of the exchange variants and how several early move orders transpose to the same-ish structure was a life saver for low ratings. Can handle so much.
I really appreciate the notes & key takeaway indicators you are now including with your videos - great learning tool to reinforce the best practices. Thanks!
I love how he's got the wooden spoon next to him ready to go. Alex is so funny. Only 54k subs is a travesty. If he did more commentary and guess the Elo and other Gotham type shit he would have 1 million.
This takes time though, he was a bit late on the bandwagon compared to Agadmator, Rosen and Gotham. Also 'the Count' theme felt a bit cheesy to me 😊. Anyway, much better content and wayyy less annoying than two of the aformentioned ❤

This is amazing! I never payed much attention for openings. But yesterday I just learned this opening from you. I'm a beginner and I'm using it to annihilate other beginners now Lol :) 😂.. My rapid rating is 865 but I just had the best game ever with no mistakes, misses, inaccuracies or blunders! The first game didn't go as planned as I didn't quite understand this opening, but the following games were incredible!. this opening puts you in a great position and with focusing and avoiding mistakes it's nearly unstoppable for beginners or maybe even intermediate players. It's like magic! Thank you very much bro, you are the best! keep it up✌
@@AlexBanzea I think they are quite similar, and I play both, sometimes Jobava and sometimes the regular London. My first impressions of the course is that it is very well made and thought out. Well done.
Never played this tricky opening bc of some weird games that i lost lol, but after seein all the possibility and tricks+ plans, i'll try this tomorrow think im gonna rock. Thanks for your content i see you'r growing its really nice for you. The format playing 5min blitz for an hour is the absolute best, i wish having one on the Scottish gambit bc i dont get to destroy opponents the way i would lol
1:49 I noticed that when I’m playing over the board at the park or downtown or wherever , the most common response for black after Nxc7 is Qxc7. It’s wild but that’s what I see.
You crack me up. Hey, can you discuss the general plan at 40:40 if Black plays Bd6? I can’t seem to find it in any of your videos and it happens to me all the time. Thanks!
@6:40 Instead of 22.Qxg7 picking up the Rook but prolonging the game it's mate in 3 with either 22.Qd7+ Kf8 23.Rc8+ Nxc8 then Qe8 mates or if 23..Ne8 then 24.Rxe8 and Qxe8 mates and finally 2 mate in 4 if 23..Qd8 then 24. Rxd8+ Ne8 then both 25.Qe8 and Rxe8 mates. Much faster than what was shown but hey, I really enjoy your stuff. Both London variations, the Caro-Kann series and now the Slav Defense.
4 knights opening against Jobova London's fried liver-style variation leads to an even game with the e pawn shoved in the bishop's face. Shove that e-pawn out! I'd love to see a match between Chess Vibes and Alex here, Chess Vibes is a big believer in the 4 knights defense and I'm not convinced he's wrong...
At 3:00 in this position I would play bishop C7 and when queen goes E8 I would jump in B6 with the Knight checking the King and taking the Bishop on C8 on the next move, playable???
I'm pretty decent (for my rating 1500ish), in Vienna, king Gambit, alapine attack, slav, caro cann, queen indian,,, and now hopefully Jobava London😊 So fun to try out new opening👍🏾
What advantage does the Jobava have by moving the knight to C3 as opposed to a Queen’s gambit where you free your pawn to C4 first and then can move knight to C3?
I'm a little over 1200 and there's really only 2 openings I've been using. The Jobava London and the king's Indian. Would love to see you do videos like this with the king's indian.
After 1. d4 nf6 2. nc3 d5 3. Bf4 nc6 4. nb5 black has e5 to sort of hold. White will be slightly better (+0.6 apx) and up a pawn but has some potential issues to solve; after 4… e5 5. Bxe5 Bb4+ 6. c3 Ba5 and the knight is maybe not the best on b5 as it doesn’t have the c3 square anymore and will have to eventually reroute via a3. Again, white is better in this position it’s just not crushing.
i think it is because you lose a lot of tempos, because you move the same piece three times in the opening, and the engine thinks it's enough compensation
The first example game, you say the knight doesn't matter anymore as it's taken the rook. But you can check and capture the bishop as well. Why wouldn't't you win extra material, given that bishops are generally seen as being worth more material than knights?
In that game, the queen was defending the B6 square where you see that check 5:00. you would just lose the knight while also letting black develop their queen
i used stockfish to evaluate that first game after the rook is taken with the knight. After ... e6, Bc7! threatens the queen and continues the attack (stockfish depth level 30). I will reply to my self later with a link to a study.

Do you cover the Jobava in your London course on chessable?
I think he always gives it when black goes for g2 and let's you play e4...like a 150 atack

you should recalculate, you are wrong. After 24. Qd8 Qxd8 you have lost Q and R in your first variant already.
@@jtk1996 Yeah, thanks, it is a typo. Should read 24. Qe8 mates. I fixed it.
@@BB_NYcity i see, so Qe8 was the mate i missed, lol! But Alex only had 25 seconds time left, so i guess he looked for a clean easy win, not mate.

At 6:42 didn’t you miss an earlier checkmate, Queen to d7, followed by rook to c8?
Beginners rarely fall for this in reality. It's easily countered with the pawn to A7 move.

Kinda tricky, but could be interesting!
@AlexBanzea when the necessary requirements are met, I'm successful about 20% of the time lol..

Thanks for teaching us! Doesn´t a newer line consist of getting the g1 knight to e5 in two moves, f1 bishop to e2 or d3 and the g2 pawn to g4 ?
it depends

Question. When you do g5, can't black just do Nh5?
I’ve reached the positions from game 3 against opponents up to 2300 on lichess in bullet and won. Deadly line.
How come the Eval doesn't go crazy with Nc6? How can black defend?
After 1. d4 nf6 2. nc3 d5 3. Bf4 nc6 4. nb5 black has e5 to sort of hold. White will be slightly better (+0.6 apx) and up a pawn but has some potential issues to solve; after 4… e5 5. i think it is because you lose a lot of tempos, because you move the same piece three times in the opening, and the engine thinks it's enough compensation
Nh5 allowing white to fork and take their bishop when they take rook. Then whites na8 is stuck and you will get it back
The first example game, you say the knight doesn't matter anymore as it's taken the rook. But you can check and capture the bishop as well. Why wouldn't't you win extra material, given that bishops are generally seen as being worth more material than knights?

bishop does not have an umbrella to defend loool i love these takes bro
The Knight on B5 is getting a tan. 😂
This opening is literally a mirror of the Italian game
Indeed, Baadur made many references to the italian when we discussed it.
The bishop and the knight go together like lamb and tuna fish!
This opening is very good. For once I had a plan in a game chess and opponents simply collapsed (at my level...).
