The most impressive part about all Alex's videos is how he's just casually talking to the camera when he has 6 seconds left and his opponent still has 3 minutes

1.c3 is my best scoring opening move and I try to play it as reversed caro or slav/London depending on the response. It's VERY simple and VERY strong and reduces the opening prep massively. You can pre- move D4 against anything or play 2.a3 as a waiting move that improves the slav/caro. It crushes. No one playing black is ready for the reversed caro up a tempo. Play this Alex.

There was a nice move as well for the knight with the englund gambit as white 25:47.
Which prepared to open the white bishop file on e2. Putting pressure on black’s knight forcing him to pull back. Then push c3 knight to b5 prepared to sac the knight on an upcoming check.
    Forcing queen to be taken.

Can someone explain the checkmate threat for white demonstrated at 3:30? there are several ways to defend as black, so much so that I put the board into chessbase and had stockfish double check and it's such a non-threat that the top engine move i can see is Bb4 just toally ignoring the king side of white.

Scissors: yeah, in English (crazy language) you can only have a pair of scissors. You can't have a single scissor. Stupid way to construct a language, but there you have it. You can't put two scissors together to make a pair of scissors, since there is no such thing as a scissor. Same with pants. You can only have a pair of pants, never a single pant. I found out that playing h4 before g4 often wins the bishop on f5. After playing f3 and g4, it is 100 % sure that black will move the bishop because the threat is so obvious. However by playing h4 first there is no immediate threat and black might just play Bd6 and when you then play g4, it is too late to save the light squared bishop. In about 20 % of my games in this line, I win the bishop, because my opponent didnt see that his bishop was getting trapped. What do you think about that?
