A tour of my tech school dorm room for the Air Force in Pensacola, Florida at NAS Pensacola. This is just one of the many Air Force dorms that you may have depending on what base your tech school is at. Our dorm rooms weren't too bad but we did have a roomate and 4 people shared a bathroom. In 1989, al Lowry AFB we had 3 airman to a room and communal showers and bathrooms. You guys had it made.
These videos are great, im feeling even better about joining. Right now im stuck on deciding between the navy or the air force, did you ever thought about joining another branch before? If so what made you decide to go air force?

Jesus that tech school is beautiful. I had to go to 344th in lackland and it was crap.
I went to two tech schools: Ft. Devens (doesn't exist anymore) and Shepperd AFB. Neither of those schools had nice rooms like yours. Then again, that was back in 1990. :-)
yea sheppard is the cold training where u just learn about the jets and crap like that, tyndall is where we did out "HOT" Training on the 15s. and yea ull have fun in kadena i dont know anyone that didnt while over there! Have fun

It would be nice if you made a video describing life in Tech School, For example your routine, privileges, pretty much the basic run down of it all.
How do u get all ur stuff from home to ur dorm?
At navy boot camp a petty officer told us to sleep on top of our blankets, and our chief didnt care. I didn't cuz it was chicago in December, but still.

New Subscriber Here ! Great vids btw. Can you make a video on or explain the transition from Bmt to tech school & From tech school to your base. Traveling wise. Is you take a plane do they oay for it & How does getting all your stuff to the next location ? do u have to throw a lot of your things away ?

Also, what's the policy on going off-base? How do you get around town when you are off base? I'll be in MO for tech so I doubt I'll be near any real cities, unfortunately.
What do you have to do to get your personal items (Laptop, PS4, TV, etc) into Tech School after BMT? Is there some sort of inspection to make sure the equipment doesn't violate any regulations?
I've heard some different things. My boyfriend got the night class schedule 3-12 but I've heard sometimes you'll be on that for a few weeks then change to days and back and forth and so forth. Is that true, or are you on the same schedule the entire time?
What the fuck is this, this bs is way better than the shit we got at the Marine Corps. Man if i had the chance to do it over, id probably choose the relaxed POG life you get at the Air Force.
I'm in the corps and it's not much different. If your a grunt then obviously your in a bay for mos school. Which what you are is what I'm taking?
+Ryan Rodell in 29, you get a small ass room with bunks that you share with 2-3 other Marines, the bathrooms arnt as nice and when you look out you just see parking lot, then in the suck, youre just in a big shack that you share with 4-6 other Marines no bathroom or shower

Also, how were you able to get/bring your laptop and monitor?? Did they let you buy 'em after bmt(during your free days before tech school) or you bought them prior to being at tech school?
this has nothing to do with the dorms but what study materials did you use before you took the ASVAB?

Is tech school right after Basic Training? How long does it take?

@@robertreyes6758 Depends on the career field you are wanting to join. The career I am interested in is only 1 month for tech school, it varies.

Kinda late (really late lol) but are you allowed to bring your stuff to basic training or do you have to wait till tech school or first base?
I went to meps,found out I was color blind and turns out I'm wanting the same job that you got and was wondering if you knew the chances of me getting that job.Im heading of to basic in general aptitude in 7 days and I'm kinda worried about what job I'll get.
You said you went to Japan, what base? I was stationed at Misawa Air Base in Japan, I was a Morse code operator/ Satellite Systems tech.
So, if you have a PS3/Xbox and you are deploying to another base....can you ship that and play in your new base? Will you have Internet on every bases or what?

My husband is ASM. We're at NAS Pensacola right now, he's actually in his last class right now and gradates tomorrow (: We're going to Luke AFB in phoenix and he'll be working on F-16's.. Might be switching to LO in november to work on F-35's.. Do you like the job?
I'm supposed to be going down there on the 29th of April for NDI school, and just trying to see how the MTL's and stuff are down there. Im not sure how I'm going to be treated over there, seeing that I've already had a 3 level in another job.

i've seen the hospital crease be done the other way. how exactly do you get it in that angle? like the triangle side would be on the bottom instead of the top while the adjacent angle was the regular flat sheet. isn't that uncomfortable to make?
Hokey smokes.........The tech school rooms sure have changed since I went back in 1987, We had tow per room,but communal latrines and showers. If we wanted small refrigerators,we had to rent them,as well as TV's,

I leave 12 November and find your videos helpful. I've heard of people packing a care package before leaving for BMT of stuff that you can't take with you like your laptop and having someone send it to them when they get to techschool. Did you do something like this? Or being at tech school now would you have done it? what kind of things would be good to pack? would you pack a cardboard box so you can toss it being that you have to keep your room a certain way? or would a tote/duffle work
man this sucks for me i want to go to the air force so bad but im only in the 9th grade gonna have to finish high school first i wish i was at bmt right now :(

Christine Shultz During technical school, you will be expected to stay on base. As time passes you will be granted more liberties but there are no guarantees.
what do they do on base just stand there? and there's no guarantee that they could leave?
Quick question. Are you made to set up an account in BMT or can a trainee have their money direct deposited into their personal account back home?

+Airman297 It could be that specific recruiters experience. I talked with a friend of mine and she had said newer dorms have separate sleeping areas with a shared kitchen thing.
