I was in Pensacola in the summer of 1990 for Aircrew school. A lot has changed in 30 years and a lot more modern today. A school was in Millington, TN after Aircrew and it sucked going from Pensacola to Tennessee. You guys today are so lucky having everything in Pensacola. It's a nice base. Our mess hall in 1990 was small but it was one of the best in the fleet because the officers also ate there too. It's an old base. Built in 1913 so in 100 years it went through a lot of changes. It's better now.

My dad worked at the BOQ, back in the 80's I can remember walking the hallways and the smell..😢
I did boot camp then on to aircrewman candidate school in Pensacola and then A School in Millington, TN. Then to Jacksonville, FL for 36 weeks of training in VP-30. I was an AO and at the time the only 4 duty stations there were for aircrew AO's (on P-3C Orion's) was Hawaii, California, Florida or Maine. I was the class honorman so I picked Maine & met up with my friends who were a class ahead of me the entire time right from boot camp. Great memories and nice video you put together, cheers!

Your positivity is really inspiring - I often see people in the Navy, myself included feel unhappy with various things and let that stuff get to them (like getting Norfolk for orders 🙃). It really seems that the excitement about your future in the Navy is genuine rather than blind.
I look forward to seeing what comes next for you after A school.
Hey AM2 , thanks so much for reaching out! Yea I got orders to Lemoore which most people think is terrible…especially airframes at my squadron “rag”. I’ve always tried to be optimistic no matter where I’m at in life and make the best of every situation! After all I am a 30 year old airman haha! But yea I hope to rub off on some of these young guys and look forward to posting more content soon! Take care and best of luck!
AC “A” school. Millington, TN. Summer/Fall 1993. We didn’t have private bathrooms 😆 We had one community bathroom on each floor of the barracks. Kinda like a miniature boot camp set up.
I was there in 1990 (AOCS), and I loved almost every minute of it. Mess was good then, but it looks even better now. The BEQ looks about the same, though. One piece of advice for those considering the Navy or headed to A School: exercise restraint and caution if you go into town. It's real hard to foul up on base, but it's real, real easy to get entangled in a civilian mess off. An on-base foul up is handled internally, but if you get civvy police/courts involved, then you've got a hornet's nest and a career potentially derailed. All in all, I still consider the Navy a great choice in life--hooyah!

Went to AOA school but in Naatc millington Tennessee fall of 1984 old timer here , Pensacola looks like a great base , Seen the the blues practice once there good luck !

Thankyou ! Honestly just go online and start downloading practice tests ! They’ll give you a sheet of websites at the recruiter! Some stuff is hard to prep for I mostly studied the math and did well! You got this!

My daughter will be stationed here in February! She leaves for boot camp on Dec 6th! She’s a CTT.
She will actually be stationed at Corry Station. Different base but not far from NAS

I went to A-School at NAS Meridian. It was hot like P’cola and right square in the middle of nowhere.

Lame comment to follow. I did A school for ADJ (ADJ for jets, ADR for recips) at NAS Millington. We had an A-5 Vigilante in front of the chow hall and the boot joke was to get a guy to stand Plane Guard. Don't know if anyone ever did.....
What do you need on you ASVAB overall for AM
funny that I found this channel...my 22 year old son is heading to basic in a week, will attend A school in Pensacola to be a Structural Aircraft Mechanic too...he's excited about this chapter in his life...as his Dad, it's a little tough to think I won't be able to see him for a while, but once he's in Pensacola, I'm sure things will level out for him....and me and his mom. Yes on the weekends and it also depends on what phase. A lot of people spend weekends with there family and friends!
Hey man - you mentioned in an earlier video that you went to college before you enlisted. Why didn't you go OCS? I have a degree but my gut is telling me that enlistment is for me right now.
I’m too old too go ocs for navy and I don’t have a degree…took a big pay cut going in at my age but I’m super happy I did it!! If your over 30 and have a degree you can still do officer for air force from what I’ve been told !

Hey! I have a concerning question so I watched another UA-camr video about A school and he stated that Aviation a school can not leave base at all not even on the weekends…. Can you confirm???
During covid that was the case and even last year the rule would change back and forth. Now that cases are pretty low I’m pretty sure you can leave. That’s how it was for me last summer !

I wasn't eligible for a top secret security clearance so I had to choose another job. I'm actually very happy it worked out this way!

The national defense ribbon has been giving to all service members who enlisted post 9/11. The marksman ribbon is given to those who shoot on the 9mm and score between 180-203.

Hey sorry to break the news but the Covid vaccine mandate is never going to go away. It is now a required vaccine for all military personnel and all those who joining
