I’ve just updated my 10 year old HP laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 after watching your video instruction on how to do so. It went remarkably smooth. So the next thing I did was follow along this video with my tablet in one hand and make the changes on my laptop following your advice. I did everything you suggested from the beginning of this video all the way up to where you were showing us how to change the performance options. You suggested that we tick the box to adjust for best performance. I did that exactly as you suggested and then I stopped the video right there because I did not feel comfortable going further and doing things in the registry. So I rebooted my old laptop. All I can say is WOW!!! It started up way quicker! 😃 Am I ever happy that I followed your advice! It used to take forever for my laptop to boot up and to shut down. But not anymore! The way it responds now you might think that I’ve installed a SSD in there! LOL!! So thank you kind sir you have made my day and help me breathe a little new life into my old laptop.

This was nicely presented. I've not experienced any slow down myself - I just don't like corporations looking over my shoulder the whole time. I didn't do all the steps, just knowing I can safely turn off all those switches in the settings was enough to put my mind at ease. You know what us normies are like - we don't want to fiddle with things we don't understand - because if we change something and can't work out how to put it back, we can get into a right pickle. But this is a nice, simple, step-by-step guide so it gets a big ol' thumbs up from me.

@@heinzerbrew Maybe that is your interpretation of 'now'. The issue is not doing everything at once, this can still all be done now mate, just not all at one shot and go. Spend several hours or half day doing one or couple things, reboot, check how things are going. Do a couple more, rinse and repeat. That is all still now in my book, maybe not yours, but that again is your issue, perception and interpretation. The same with the take things slowly. Again that is up to you, maybe you don't have several hours to do this, so then take your time in however long you need, or it could simply mean do only one or couple things at time as in my example above by doing it all now ... just not all in one shot so that IF something messes up you do not know which of all those things you did was the cause.

I've just watched your video and I'm confused. I see what you've done and can possibly reproduce some of it (i'm on W10 Home) but am not sure WHY I should make some of the changes as the Computer I'm running on is not SuperWhizzey but runs fine. I don't want to turn something off that may cause me a problem months or years in the future and I've turned something off that I can't remember. Perhaps you should have a series of smaller videos that address certain aspects and explain the whys and wherefores in them. Sorry for being negative and I appreciate the recommendation of the O&O program so I guess I have picked up something from the Video. Tell you what I would appreciate is a way to uninstall all the crappy games that are on a small computer I have that only has 32 Gig of onboard storage and cannot update because of the lack of onboard room (the Disney one seems to take the most disc space!). So in summation:
      Your computer runs fine.

If you want to uninstall the games, you can right click on them in the start menu and in the menu that appears you can click on uninstall. If that doesn't work Windows key + S and search for control panel. Find programs and features, wait for it to load and find the games you want removed and uninstall them.
Also, I have a 32gb PC and you need a USB flash drive or micro SD card to use as a cache for the downloads of the updates that'll install. Any recently made PC (2013, onward) will have a card reader slot on the 32gb systems. It's there because they know you'll need to expand storage.

Personally, the years of trying to get linux working with my equipment, soured my opinion of that OS. Often, when I got stuff working only half the featrues of the device could be used. ALL in one printers could only print, no scanning, or faxing, video cards could only do the minimum of displaying the screen. Often, Things that were done automatically in windows took five minutes for me to manually do in linux. Updating stuff could easily become a nightmare., because the software on linux often didn't come with self installers.

I LOSE SO MUCH TIME fixing what MS Updates screws up. I have been turning Updates Off, but I can only do it for a month at a time, and then I have to deal with it again. I run a Windows 10 Home version and wanted to find a way to SEE what was going to be downloaded and installed BEFORE it's done, which is the way it used to be. Now I see the Windows Install spinner and I am in FEAR of what it's doing, and if I'm going to be able to get any work done for the rest of that day!! MS UPDATES have been a nightmare and has crashed my laptop to the point where it is COMPLETELY unbootable. I watched another one of your videos to get files off using NotePad, but my laptop is still DEAD, unbootable and unuseable, I really need to have 2 computers working, and I don't have time to learn Linux or lose ALL my files on the laptop. I left you a comment today on that other video, I still need some help. As for this video, I spent Hours researching and found Group Policy Editor to turn off Updates, actually printed the instructions, but when I went to implement, the commands did not work. Obviously the site I got the instructions from did NOT SPECIFY that GPE ONLY Works on Windows Professional NOT Windows Home. So I'm back to square 1, FEARING MS UPDATES!!
