I don't know if people already know this (probably) When you open a broswer and have multiple tabs you can hold Ctrl and press (any number from 1-9 it will switch tabs in the order that they're organized)
Don't forget. Snipping tool also has the option to snapshot after 3 seconds or after 10 seconds. This lets you screenshot menus and other screens that you need to pull up manually into focus before the screenshot.
2:30 you can also set your "print screen button" as the screen snipping button under settings - ease of access - Keyboard (under the interaction heading) can also be found by going to the start menu, typing "print screen" then clicking on the "use the print screen key to launch screen snipping"

As a software engineer, I found no one else who knew about the shake trick. Sometimes you have to shake the window for a while before it reacts. On one occasion, while giving a presentation with my desktop projected on a screen, I started shaking a window, but the damn thing just wouldn't react. The reactions from people were funny -- I think they thought I had lost my damn mind. 😁

This guy gives me hope that at my old age I, too, will be able to do that. This SHAKE thing..........well, my new "hello Moto" cell phone showed me how to Shake it and my search light comes on!!! WOW.....and shake again to turn it off..........MY GOD I called four of my friends to tell them. THEY too were excited. Hard to hold on and SHAKE things at our age too. So we use bottle opener grippy things to hold the phone! Love these tips!

5:00 Slide to Shutdown. You can double click the top half of the screen bar (above the notification) instead of dragging it down. Quicker and easier, especially if you're tired.
I definitely switch audio devices from the taskbar a lot, usually switching from my sound bar to Astro A50 gaming headset, but I also find that Windows 10 is good about automatically switching to a headset when I plug it in. For example I can plug a headset into my Xbox One Controller, which is connected wirelessly via the proprietary dongle, and Windows automatically switches to the headset the very moment it's plugged in. Saves a lot of time and it's a great feature. I'm aware a lot of people aren't fans of the dongle, but it's far less input lag than Bluetooth(though wired USB is best). Also some older controllers, like the Xbox One Elite, require the dongle to be used wirelessly on PC. Plus I leave plugged in for those games which are easier to play with a controller.
All of these tips are new to me. I need this video. I like this video because the narrator uses language I can understand and not intimidating for a novice like me.

about game bar 10:34 if you press pin on any of these they will stay on the screen even if you escape game bar this is really useful for pinning performance while gaming if you need just the basic stuff for monitoring

@Steamed Hams once I did a few tweaks like the quick view with space bar and sorted the icons on the bottom its 80% like mac now. The only thing is there is a lot of faffing about just to do something and the search bar isn't great. Its amazing having an SSD though and I will keep my mac on high sierra 16gb ddr3 ram for now but if you have an SSD its like having more ram anymore. You?

However, I do notice that some of my Windows 10 menus look different different than what you show. For example, When I click Windows Defender I don't see a *_Ransomware_* option. 😏

I had to use Windows XP for 4 years to ignore the annoying update of this operating system popping up on peoples old computers running 7 or 8.1. But now when I get the older programs to work on windows 7 i'm going to be upgrading from XP to that system. I never got a virus on my computer when I used XP after support ended for it for 6 years.

Sincerely, ever since I learned about this, I've been able to start at/use my PC for easily double or triple the time with either the same or slightly less eye strain worst case. Just wish redshift on linux was as intuitive and as easily "strength" adjusting.

I use MalwareBytes-which includes anti-ransomware-and I don't see the Defender ransomware either.
