- Hey Everyone.
Here is the last video of the update process of the FTM-300 Firmware. Hope you guys enjoyed following along with me as I get my rig up to date.
This video is for educational purposes only. I am not responsible if you follow the wrong steps in the documents provided by Yaesu on how to update the firmware of the radio. I'm doing these videos just to show how I went through the steps of updating the firmware on my radio in my location.

AMAZING thank you for your videos on the FTM 300 firmware updates. its took me a while to do it and understand it but i got there in the end. Not sure how people do it without finding your videos lol M7WLG

Is the update worth the time and trouble to do? Do you notice any differences?
I haven't noticed any difference myself, but the way I look at it Yaesu obviously noticed some things needed to be fixed so they went ahead with the updates. You many never actually see any performance issues. Figured I'd show the process for the people that may be wondering how it's done.
I have done the main all ok, but when I try the SUB my PC will not the head on the USB device manager, i have followed all the steps but still can't see the head to do the sub, can i try the DSP up[before the SUB to see if that works
So when you follow all the steps and press okay another screen should pop up and show done weird set of numbers and letters that it found the device. Does you're PC make a sound like it found a device once plugged in?
@@VA1MRT Yes another screen shows but says no USB device found or something similar, like it not found, no beep to indicate USB device found, so my software currently shows Main 1.4 sub 1.1 and DSP 7.11 the DSP is the current version i believe i did update the main all went great but the SUB is driving me insane
What you can try and do is install the driver and then plug the cable into a different USB port. Don't plug in the cable and then install the driver. Driver first then cable. Once it sees the device on a different USB it will look to install the drivers for that particular port.
@@VA1MRT Yer tried all that, it's strange because I can update it to 1.4 for the main but can see the head for the SUB update, i have sent an email to yaesu i see what they come back with
@@arcskeepingyouconnected7537 I hate to ask the stupid questions but do you have the power connected back to the radio. It's strange that you were able to do the main no problem but the SUB is giving you trouble.
