I always thought that Gary's Raticate was stolen by that same TR member, and Gary just didn't bother trying to help it. Or when you beat him in battle he left to go heal his Pokemon and never bothered coming back.
Yet you reupload it right after game theory does it? That's still using current events to your advantage regardless of whether or not you did it before
I never believed that Raticate died. Blue needed stronger Pokemon, so I always thought he boxed him and others

Raticate isn't even useable for pokemon tower. It makes sense he wouldn't use it when there are stronger pokemon that do everything a raticate could ever do and better.
except in Gen 1 Raticate was a viable Pokémon thanks to Gen 1s broken mechanics

No, actually, his highest level pokemon in the tower is a Level 25, and it's his starter. Ratata learns Super Fang at level 28, and a Raticate, which is what it is, learns Super gang at Level 34! This disproves what you say. GG.

Blue's Raticate went missing in Lavender town, specifically in the tower. (where ghost types are). So when he saw that Raticate could do nothing, he released it or is storing in the pc. My opinion
Yeah, the raticate would have just been a waste of space (or just a punching bag) since it didn't know anything like foresight (idk if that was in the gen 1 games, but I am assuming it is). Blue could have been planning on capturing other pokemon and have those fill Raticate's position.

cstewy28 I know? I said I find it funny people say game theory did it first when they didnt. It isnt a new theory regardless as I'm not even sure who covered it.
I think this makes Raticate's fate even sadder. Instead of dying in the arms of his caring trainer. It just gets booted out of the team with other Pokemon Gary caught that he deems "weak" or just caught for the pokedex.

This comment section perfectly describes why I don't like GT anymore. I had no problem with MatPat or GT up until the Rosalina being Peach's daughter theory. Ever since, people take his theories like they're all true, and give other video game theorists shit for 'copying' MatPat just because they want to give their thoughts on a popular topic in gaming. It's like they think MatPat is on top of the world and anyone who does anything the smallest bit similar to him is a 'rip off' of him. It makes no sense whatsoever.
Let's not forget the annoying "sans" theory
1:38 as famous as that scene is in the manga for what its depicting i recommend using a different example for that arbok never died. since its head was preserved it eventually regrew its body. i would recommend the scene of giovanni freezing and crushing to magmars with his cloyster or pryce losing two of his lapras to an environmental accident.

I'm also subbed to Game Theory, but guys leave Proto alone! This was one of his first theories. He may have been "inspired" to revisit this theory from MatPat, but he still has his rights.

Alphaline i own a latias in my pokemon alpha sapphire. latias is a beautiful pokemon. my latias knows two moves that are beautiful in contests,surf and dive.

I used raticate all the time in the original game taught it thunderbolt and thunder to go along with super fang and hyper fang at level 63 my raticate took out the first three pokemon that lorilie put out before I called it back

Blue was always a bit too cocky, glad we got to destroy him repeatedly while grinding to lv100
Just thought, him catching a Cubone and having an empty slot might prove his Raticate did die. He went to the tower while it was dying to bury it, maybe was told at the Pokemon Centre there was nothing they could do. Before it's death he caught Cubone, Cubone was sent to Bill's PC, Raticate died after that but before you meet Blue.
Blue's Raticate also ends up switched to a Ratatta, so there may be some sort of connection there. It could simply be due to how the game handles opponents' team data.
As for having caught Cubone, he didn't need to manually deposit it since that's done automatically if you have a full roster of Pokemon on hand. You might not actually need a silph scope to see it either since its not a ghost, that's probably just an oversight.
in Yellow, Gary/Blue/Green/(Profanity) removed his Raticate AND Fearow in his team...apparently no one gives a fuck about his Fearow...

Maybe blue went to lavender town and battled the same grunt that killed marowak with the stun baton and used it on Raticate

It is possible that Blue already had 6 pokemon when he went to the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town and Cubone was deposited into his PC as soon as it was caught, but the question still remains as Blue didn't have the Silph Scope at that time.
blue could have got through the walkways where the guards, he just didn't need the bottled water/ or in fr/lg flask, and if he did he could have just rang oak to get him to speak to the guard
Notice something, your rival is always one step up of you (except in the two first fights and after defeating the eight gym leader), when you have one badge he has the same as you, when you have 2 badges he has 6, when you go to the Pokémon tower he has more Pokémon than you (yes except when you trade your chosen starter Pokémon with other two people and/or consoles or emulator/s ), when you go to the Pokémon Tower he has a Cubone, when you have 6 badges he has 8, when you have all gym badges he was only going to Pokémon League and you beat Lance he already was the champion of the Pokémon League for some seconds. Analyzing that he was not a member of Team Rocket as I thought he just uses traded Pokémon. That's the key for supreme victory against him along with don't overtraining your Pokémon because that was his little mistake. He overtrained that much that when you beated him before earning the seventh gym badge the Green Badge, Green their Pokémon didn't learn too much experience after defeating Giovanni. To learn to use your badges correctly you should go to the Sea Cottage in Cerulean City and ask the only man there how works some badge.

Pokemon are as much data as anything else in the pokemon world. They're essentially animals. With the advanced technology of the Pokemon World, they can be transformed into data but this doesn't they're naturally data.
And if Pokemon hunt and consume each other in the wild, why could a pokemon not kill another one in battle?
Blue gave his Rattata to a little boy born in Johto. We came to know that boy as Youngster Joey.
The lvl 15 raticate is on yellow version, not red and blue which I'm sure most people are referring to
I think he’s just trying to finish the Pokédex that’s why he says over 40 kinds of Pokémon and that’s also why he caught cubone even though he never used it

So Proto, I like this theory. And this fits in with another theory from one of your old friends (I'm not sure if you are still friends), Gnoggin. His theory of Blue being a part of Team Rocket would fit with this theory very elegantly. Wouldn't you agree?

I never put much thought into this. I just assumed he switched Raticate out because it wasn’t a strong Pokémon.
Didn't he also have a kadabra at one point that evolved into alakazam which can only be done by trading. He probably traded said raticate as well

If there is a way for wild Pokemon to evolve earlier, then it might be possible that other trainers would be able to replicate similar process.
Just that this process is unknown to the our character.
I agree with you proto. When I heard this theory I thought it was illogical to be honest. I didn't know how but it just seemed off to me hahaha.
He probally got a ratatta leveled up to lvl 20 then got into a problem with common candys
I feel like he wouldn't have another because it's more difficult to train like six Pokemon by the second gym
I remember one of my raticate. I raised it from a rattata until it knew super fang in pokemon yellow. Then I beat brock with it because I was broke, and had battled all the trainers. And also It was my only other pokemon.
I still say he was using Raticate as an HM slave for Cut, and when he was in an area where he didn't need Cut, he wouldn't need it.

a team rocket member probably let him borrow his Raticate. After the battle, Gary gave it back to the rocket grunt.
Maybe like in the anime he traded a pokemon for a rattacate like ash did with butterfree and after he lost he traded it back

I subscribe to the theory that Blue is buddys with Team Rocket, and its feasible that they may have lent and equipped him with certain pokemon at certain times. Raticate I beleive is the kind of pokemon that would be Team Rocket standard issue. I do still enjoy the thought that Blues Raticate didn't survive the SS.Anne encounter, even though you are probably right.
I just thought of something. in the anime, ash almost traded his butterfree for a raticate on the S.S. Anne. Gary's raticate was last seen on the s.s. Anne. I know the anime and games are different, obviously, but that almost seems like the pokemon company stoking the flames of suspicion.

Hmm maybe Red didn't kill his Raticate, but he somehow lost to someone else or Raticate was poisoned during one of his battles and died, and this affected him to be stronger

One thing people don't really mention is the gentleman on the SS anne in the anime/cartoon When Ash trades his Butterfree for Raticate. Then Decides he would rather have his butterfree. Isn't it quite ironic that it would also be Raticate? Perhaps The raticate we see this man use was actually Gary's Raticate Because it was the "Only" Raticate on the ship. If we put 2 and 2 together I think it's very possible that raticate didn't disappear, but rather was traded to one of the Gentleman Trainers aboard. There were quite a few trainers with growlithe in the game.

"Quantity over quality videos" Again, he does have to make theories every week; It's literally his job. As he's said multiple times, that, combined with franchises with decades worth of lore, leads to the occasional slip up. "Sponsored theories that aren't really theories" A: Sponsorship isn't inherently bad, nor is wanting to make more money off of what you do (Also, he's also fully disclosed whenever an episode is sponsored, which is more than some can say). B: Not really theories? How do you mean? I know he occasionally does episodes like the one about the Pokemon Multiverse that are already mostly spelled out in the game, but in most cases, he at least puts his own twist on things, or goes somewhere new with that information. And most of those aren't even sponsored, IIRC.

Blue constantly says how many Pokémon he has. It's simple. He grabs his Raticate from his PC.
I don't know if you still do pokemon theories but I have one saying the st. Anne is the same ship as the abandoned ship in the hoenn region between dewford and slateport
I had a Raticate at some point in time and I taught it Surf and it could. Raticate is useful for my cases and I didn't use a cheat because I didn't have anything to do cheating with. You just got proved wrong.
In a way team rocket has a lvl 15 Raticate if you watch what they did to Gyarados in gen 2 they forced it to evolve which in game its impossible

No, Pokemon are only "data" in the sense of in-game data, but in-universe, they are living. breathing creatures that get converted into data whenever they are inside a Poke Ball or PC box. Therefore, releasing them really is releasing them back into the wild. MissingNo. is not a canonical Pokemon because it is a glitch. Nobody in the games ever makes any mention of its existence and the only way to find it is by doing so on accident or finding out how from sources outside the games themselves

red and blue had different Pokemon to catch so depending on the version he will have one Pokemon that's there. I was a red player for years never touched blue when I did I finished my red version powered so blue could of trade with himself for his team cuz remember he have a Alakazam a trade Pokemon
