Shaming people in general for not wanting kids without any regard for what other people have been through is the most unhinged take.

Wha...? A _climate change_ warning for a video discussing a form of racism...? What has this platform come to...?

    Hello, Acco.
With the value of Humans and Animals example you gave, I think it to be wrong in how the stakes were set.
For it to just be a random person versus an animal that is a very close companion that you will have preexisting emotional attachments to; would be an incredibly difficult choice to make in the moment and NOT the obvious point of what a 'moral human' would do.
The example would be much better if the stakes were of a random animal and a random human. The loon with their animal superiority complex would save the animal, and a 'moral human' would save the human.

I do think that if you had a bit of time to calm down first, your example would probably encompass the one I put up.
We all get angry or emotional when we see evil unchecked in public. It's not a bad thing, either. It's what helps us make those moral decisions in the moment - like in your example.

My first dog died a long time ago, but if I had to save him, or some poor sod that I just got a glimpse of in the disaster, I would look to secure my dog and then try to help the person.
It's not the same as just owning a dog. For those of us who grew up as children with animal companions, it's more than simple companionship - practically as family.
My first dog was in my family for just a month before I was born. Me and him literally grew up together, and I saw him to be like a brother to me. We can see the same thing happen when animals of different species are growing up or living through trama with each other.

It's not like I'd be saying screw that guy, but I would look to immediately secure the ones who I have my closest attachments to first. I'd still try to help the guy, and I consider myself to put the safety of others far above my own whenever there is an immediate crisis.
It is as natural to humanity as prioritizing our own species. A 'moral human' would be facing a moral dilemma, and carry trauma afterwards if they weren't able to save the person too. It's just not a cut and dry case whenever we bring in our own personal attachments against those that we have no connections to.

It's a similar case with choosing the safety of your loved ones over those of the strangers around you. There's a lot more to it than just the instinct of preserving our species.

Sorry bro, I'm not just default sacrificing my dog for some random person. When I have a dog they are part of my family and are my responsibility. They're not just some dumb animal like some people treat their dogs. Mine don't sleep outside or in a cold garage.
Now if you want to speak in general terms, absolutely I'd safe a random human or a random animal. Regarding the post that started all this, yeah that's an example of a garbage human. The type that talks all this nonsense as if they are fighting the good fight, but are only making it far worse.
PS: I'd think about the "you should want kids" line of thinking. Sure humanity needs a majority of people wanting & having kids or humanity would dwindle, but insinuating anyone who doesn't want them is weird just reduces it to purely basic human instinct and humans are far more advanced than that.

That is a pretty silly take. When you said the thing about Middle Easterners not being held to the same standards as whites. No one is saying they don't have the mental fortitude. The same way no ones says that people lynching people in public squares spoke to the cognitive abilities of those doing the lynching.

Out of all energy resources, we consider green power (solar, wind, biomass and geothermal) as the cleanest form of energy. yes nuclear is clean but it has a nasty side effect called irradiated waste by product see chernobyl see fukashima see (a bombs) hiroshima /nagasaki

The thing is, Accolonn, I rarely see this sort of racism in the leftist circles I travel in. The thing about the over-valuing dogs over people, that's very real. There's universal outrage over a certain politician who "shot the dog," but we aren't nearly as outraged about the deaths of actual people happening because of crimes or state violence.

Acc... bro, I'm no fan of Don Lemon and AOC, either. AOC has done some dimm shit since she's been elected, but being a racist is not one of them. There's so much to hit her on, but I think your swing was way off.
