@@AlishmaWonch It was a great experience. They really care about their candidates success and will help you along the way if you reach out. Apply as early as possible and get a good letter from an anesthesia provider if you can. Good luck!
Senior in high school and really considering going into being a CAA. Been watching your vids all night long and this has eased my decision stress so much!! Love the vids!!
RT of 12 years here. I have to say it's daunting looking to become a CAA after graduating so long ago. 1 year post bacc + 2.5 years schooling and doing well enough on the mcat to be a competitive candidate. Seems really outside of intelligence range honestly...but I already do a lot of what you do: Place A-lines, intubate/extubate, manage ventilation/oxygenation, respond to codes for all ages...seems a logical next step in my career but $$$$$$, college tuition is nooooo joke! Amazing videos though. I really enjoyed this one.
Wow❤❤❤❤ Never knew there was a career I would like as much as this! Thanks for the videos and inspiration....now going to start looking how to start this in my state😍😍
I've always been confused on what speciality to go into Watching your vlog has made me pick an interest in Anesthesiology This vlog is so educational and inspiring ❤❤❤ Love it👌💗
How often do you feel you have to manage risky and fear-inducing situations? Do CAAs confront challenging situations that could be career ending with some regularity, or better stated, are situations like these regularly a concern? Do you have much of an option to work where this is not the case, or is it inevitable? Thanks!
Not too often. Most of the time, you know your patients medical history, the risk of the surgery and can prepare for situations prior to starting a case. The frequency of challenging situations depend on what hospital and patient demographic. Trauma centers and sicker patients more often require higher acuity. If you work at an outpatient center taking care of healthy patients, the risk for adverse events can still happen but it is minimal.
Great video thank you, what exactly anesthiology assistant do, dose induce the patient by yourself and administering drug like that or just assist and make sure everything's ready?
I know these shifts can be wildly different from each other since you're only dealing with emergencies, but in your opinion/experiences, was this shift a very busy one compared to the usual, or less busy, or more like a usual weekend 24 hour shift for your hospital?
Love your videos. It motivates me nad helps me to understand better. I'm pursuing the same program in India. Can I pursue my masters in this course in abroad??
Thank you for your helpful and inspiring videos. I wanted to ask, do you think there's any chance for an overseas student to become an AA? How could I go about it? I'm in the UK. Tyvm in advance.
Gas laws… what are you a cop?… other than the ideal gas law that’s all you really need to know… and partial pressures etc but really that’s it… gas laws basically you just need to know your macs.. sevo is 2.1-2.2… iso is 1.1-1.3 that’s it and you can do this job
Great. So you can ask for help if you need it right? Specially during the first times when you are fresh out of college? Also, it seem like there is a lot of procedures, do you guys have like a cheat sheet to be able to remember all the steps?
We work in an anesthesia care team model. You have the help of the entire anesthesia department if you need! During the program, you will have clinicals and rotations that expose you to many of the different surgeries. It is up to you to learn and practice as much as you can. It becomes 2nd nature with repetition
your videos are very informative! I am currently an RT student graduating in 2024, and would like to continue my education, however is it possible to work part-time and be fulltime school? Thank you!
How Come when you are prepping the OR you are not wearing any gloves? Is it okay to do it that way? I’m asking from ignorance because I really have not started the program yet.
Do CAAs meet the patient and family prior to the procedure like the anesthesiologist does? Personally, it has always been the anesthesiologist who I have met before my procedures. After learning about this career, and seeing you do most of the work, I wonder if I have had CAAs work on my cases.
Yes you have to talk to the patients… and it really is the worst part of the job…. Ask anyone who done this shit for ten years and they will all say talking to the pt is the worst
Hi mam, Im from India and I'm very interested to do CAA course. As I've been surfing websites and media your the most trusted person to ask. Mam may know what are the requirements for international students to CAA course mam ? I'm currently studying bsc. Anaesthesia technology and Im in my internship year.
Hello I'm a graduate & i wish to pursue In Advance Diploma in anesthesia and critical care technology. Can you please believe about this? Like what are the salaries? What can we expect.....What will be a job profile as an anesthesiologist?
We independently give medications that are necessary for the management of the patient. If there is something out of the ordinary, it is good practice to discuss with the attending, as we work in an anesthesia care team model. Communication is important.
I am now studying at the university, and I will be like you soon, but I want you to advise me of a country or state to work in, where they give me a good salary and Living is good. What is your response? Thank you for your understanding. Have a good day
Your videos are motivational....i would like to do CAA ...pls tell me what are the process to do CAA course in Emory University..... actually i have already done undergraduate as an Anaesthesia Technologist....so what is the nxt step?
If there aren't any cases going on, you can sleep in the call room. You take breaks whenever you are in between cases. If youre stuck in a long surgery, your colleague will break you for lunch or dinner.
Your videos are dope.... Ma'am I want ask some doubts that i recently graduated from MD in Philippines and i want to apply for this course..... Will cause me any kind of problem?

I want to know which undergraduate course i have to do for becoming an anesthesiologist assistant?? And any college or university references?? Please reply. I really need help.
Pre-med track, preferably biology major. You do the undergraduate degree for 4 years and then apply to this program which will take approximately 2.5 years.
Oh no definitely not. They highly recommend you don't work at the same time. Mostly bc u will be attending class 4-5 days a week. Then by 2nd year it is all clinical which can include night shift
