What surprised you most about the day in the life of a resident doctor during intern year? We'd love to know!

I always assumed interns worked like 80 hours a week. Her work day was really short.

I'm currently a first year medical student interested in anesthesiology and this video was super helpful! Also by the looks of it, it seems like this residency is at the hospital affiliated with my school, which is even more specific and super exciting to see! Thank you for sharing!

That MI transfer made me chuckle. Our hospital has a 24/7 cath lab. The neighboring hospital literally across the street (2 min walk) has a cath lab that closes at 5pm. I’m ER. When their ER gets a STEMI they have to transfer over and it always takes 45 minutes for them ti get everything arranged. They had a admitted patient end up with the STEMI after having a chole. Took them almost 2 hours to get the poor guy over lol

Was thinking about pursuing anesthesia. How competitive is the field? I’ve heard conflicting info

I’m a little confused, where’s the anesthesia in all of this?

Hello! Given the confidential nature of clinical work, we unfortunately cannot show procedures, etc. But we hope you enjoyed learning what a typical day looks like!

I agree, I would have guessed this was internal medicine.

My best guess is due to the requirement of an internship prior to starting the anesthesia residency or CA years. Ive seen categorical residents due an intern year in internal medicine or surgery, but I am not sure in Dr. Eve’s case

Max 10 pts?! That’s insane! We as nurses can have 20-30 and we’re doing the majority of the hands on work with every single one.

Okay, so proud of you. But as a woman/mom(and nurse) a bit worried about you running alone in the dark.

Why are you so misogynistic? Just because she's a girl doesn't mean she can't protect herself. Even boys faces danger running alone in dark.

I am currently doing screening/swabbing volunteering work in the same Mercy Medical Center! I don't think I saw you because I work an 11am-4pm shift in Weinberg Garage but I was always curious about life inside the actual hospital. Thank you for sharing!
