    I have a ranger ll model. My son has a shorter barrel gun. Both are awesome guns. The real difference between the two, is using shotgun loads. Because of his shorter barrel, the shot spreads immediately. My 4 inch barrel will hold the pattern a little longer. We both love them!

    Own A .45LC/.410 Snake Slayer, love the fact I can slip it into my pocket and not have an imprint. Being able to change calibers from .22-10mm makes it even better as a simple barrel swap can make this a up close and personal Hand Cannon. I do plan on getting a .45ACP barrel soon as ammo has been getting hard to find

    I carry 2 j frames and a Stinger. The Stinger in a 'driving holster ' (cross draw) is very fast to access. When sitting, it's way faster than hip, appendix, or ankle. This will allow you time to fight to your primary firearm from a sitting position and is deep conceal or a last ditch for anything else. You certainly can carry another firearm in this manner but you usually can't get 38 +P in something as small and flat as a Stinger. In this configuration I can use the same ammo (in speed strips) to reload any of the guns but I am mostly depending on NY reloads.

    Very nice Derringer!!! Yes fantastic back up close range pistol. I agree wit you I would not carry as a primary EDC due to capacity. I own a Taurus 605 snub nose .357 magnum but same issue it has a 5 round capacity. I’m a firm believer in carrying high capacity in today’s dangerous society!! I bought a Rowdy XL when it first came out. 3in .410/45LC. Great weedeating and woods walk gun for snakes, got a .357 Mag barrel as well as a LH IWB holster and a Wallet holster both for a great deal. Gives a lot of options for a back up gun for such a small package. The quality of this gun is far far better than I would have ever expected a small gun like this to be. Better than my Taurus 66 and M&P 40 and both are twice as expensive

    Proud owner of the rowdy. It hits well. As a tool, it is great for critter control. Snakes to yotes. Ole farm boys need one in the feild. In one gun you can take small to mid size game. Self defense..... i give it a c-. As a trail gun or a just in case gun in the woods or feild.... it is a A-
    My biggest complaint is the heavy trigger pull. Honestly when i bought it, i did not expect it to work as well as it does.

      That’s a good point of you. What a lot of people don’t know about me unless they met me early in my life… was that I studied martial arts, most of my childhood into my early adulthood. I have a first-degree black belt in taekwondo. And a deputy black belt in Hapkido/Judo. So I understand about fighting on the ground. It served me well to have a Marital art background prior to my service in law-enforcement.

    I know I am a minority, but I do carry this gun as a backup, like the name suggests. I carry it in conjunction with a G30s. The things I like about the Bond are that it cannot jam, I can feed it from G30 mags, and can contact shoot with it if things get really ugly. It is not nearly as slow as you’d think. I carry mine in a leather pocket holster and pull the hammer back as I am drawing it. That first shot is very fast, the second nearly so, it just takes an afternoon of practice. I figure If I am using this gun, everything has gone to hell.

      @jmarine1933 Рік тому +2

      @@erik2.092 Does it matter if you have 2 or 15 more rounds you say? Yes, it definitely could matter and there’s no way to know that in advance. You’d be better off having a 5 or 6 shot snub-nose revolver as a backup gun than a 2 shot derringer that has to be manually cocked for each shot! You also better hope the manual safety hasn’t been accidentally engaged while you’re pulling the trigger as your life flashes before your eyes. Your Glock is a great choice. I have several Glocks. But choosing the Bond in my opinion is not a good choice at all. We can agree to disagree.

    • @InlinePaul

      @@jmarine1933 On my Bond Derringer there is a set screw you can tighten with the safety in the off position. Then it will not go on safety accidentally. I guess for a back up gun, the Bond is okay. My backup is a .32 ACP with 7 shots. But a .45 Colt Bond might be better than that?

    a used, i.e. barely shot, original gen2 b.a. derringer is of better quality that a lesser finished, cheaper rowdy/roughneck. this i know well from expensive personal experience. mine is often a same caliber backup to my ccw of the day. 4 calibers need longer grips. extra barrels are easy holiday self-gifts, bucksnort outfitters are an excellent source. if loaded with 410 i always choose handgun specific 410 ammo. remove the trigger guard and load with big 45lc when it’s a winter walk, gloved hands, ccw. a b.a. derringer with a couple of extra barrels is a handy ammo scrounging piece when away from home. handy too when puttering about at home loaded with 410. i always carry a speedstrip or two with extra ammo.

    As far as I know, the extractors are present on barrels chambered in rimmed cartridges (.38 Special for example). If not extractor is present, then it is not a rimmed cartridge (9mm for example). I would be curious whether they would put an extractor on .32 ACP which has a rim, though not much of a rim. But they don't make a .32 ACP barrel.
