      @@BondArmsIncI've been looking for the 45 ACP model for over a year. I stopped by my local gunshop today and they had one in for sale. I quickly inspected it and now it's here on my table as I write this comment. It's gonna be one of my "always" guns. I'm very impressed with the quality and feel of the gun. Is there any brand or type of ammo you recommend for the 45 ACP model?

    These informational videos by a small(ish) company make me want to buy one of these derringers just as a backup gun. I normally wouldn't consider a derringer, but the safety features and fact that it would work as a bludgeoning tool (thing looks like a tank) make me think it would work okay. Also love the fact y'all are from Texas.

      @@BondArmsInc I ended up getting a Roughneck in .357 Magnum last weekend and, considering the number of snakes I encounter here in Idaho while hunting/fishing, I think I'm going to carry CCI #9 shot shells in it when I'm in the wild from now on. So, it does have a practical purpose other than back-up gun, so that is nice. I just posted a Short involving the shot shells versus some beverages and a longer initial impressions video. I only have shot 2 rounds of pdx1 defender 410 out of my recently acquired Rowdy. I really am enjoying just playing with it. Gonna put a little 45 colt ammo through it today. 45 colt ammo is not cheap around here. As I mainly have this gun for a novelty, would be nice to have some more affordable ammo, so I will be purchasing a 9mm barrel for it eventually. Curious as to why your company does not sell the 9mm barrel in a 6 inch offering.

    • @BondArmsInc
      @BondArmsInc  Рік тому +1

      Most things come down to demand. We have offered the 6" in the 45/410, 10mm, and 357/38 for some time, and even those last two I mentioned are rather slow in sales.
      That said, we may be making some changes in the next year or so that might allow us to expand our caliber range because of an emphasis we should be able to put on marketing barrels and other accessories. If we can market them in a different way that we are talking about, and sales increase as a result, then we will be afforded the ability to expand some selections!

    Love my powder coated Backup in .45 acp. However, some of the aftermarket grips don’t fit the frame that well because of the added thickness. Also, when are we going to see a hammerless double action only derringer like what American Derringer or Double Tap make? That would be an ideal carry gun easily manipulated with one hand.

    Awesome. You guys are great coming up with the budget line of just-as-high-quality guns for us. I was wondering if we can order a gun, say the Rowdy, but upgraded to maybe the 3.5-inch .45 Colt only barrel. That would be a handy added purchasing arrangement as sometimes we can't get quite the barrel we want on the particular gun.

    • @BondArmsInc
      @BondArmsInc  2 роки тому +3

      Since we don't sell direct to the public, we can't custom-make a frame with a different barrel on it. HOWEVER, if I were in your situation, I would let my local gun dealer know that I wanted a .357/.38 Roughneck, and then I would order a 3.5" 45/410 barrel for it online. The frames for the Rowdy and Roughneck are identical except for the markings on the ears that say either "Rowdy" or "Roughneck". Then you could have yourself a super tough pistol in which you could shoot .357 Mag, .38 Spl, .45LC, and .410 shot shells.

    derringers usally have directions no one reads or even metal stamped warnings, the biggest safety people neglect is not learning how their firearm works or a seller doesnt include manual or tell new person that many derringers if you load it and its not in half cock one firing pin will stick out and then when you close it where ever that short barrel is facing is where the bullet is going, for example some close derringers with fingers in the way or barrel facing a unsafe dirrection, especially derringers its easy to break the muzzle rule being its a short barrel and having to swing it out to load it

    • @BondArmsInc
      @BondArmsInc  2 роки тому

      We always recommend the muzzle face in a safe direction. And, on top of that, Bond's are built where the user doesn't have to think about putting it in a half-cock position because every model we make does that automatically.

      @libra7624 2 роки тому

      @@BondArmsInc i noticed that your derringers solved that problem, you would not believe how many people loaded older derrigers with a exposed firing pin, usually they lose their left pinky or index finger when they dont know how to use a derringer, this is why a tell even the most experienced shooters to read the munual that came with the gun, guns even have warnings printed on metal that some dont even see, no matter what firearm we buy we must know how to use it safely and properly, thanks for reply and i will note BondArmsInc is very good at safety wich is good for the ouner of the firearm and safe for the public being its a better and safe made derringer. a caliber i think would be nice to see is .17 hmr in your product line but even more i would like to see a single shot derringer and very small, simple top break like those rosssi top break barrel rifles, simply open barrel put in a cartridge and snap barrel shut, a model like you could start with is a 22 lr or a even a 22 short, some people will still like a single shot pistol especially if the size is very small

      Until we start chambering it, you have 2 options. First, you can get a Roughneck or a Backup. The have a 2.5" barrel vs a 3", so they are slightly easier to conceal. Or, your second option is ordering a Rowdy in it's 45/410, and getting a 45ACP barrel for it in the 3" barrel. Because of the ease of trading barrels, most people end up with getting extra barrels so that they can switch calibers with ease. I personally bought a 357 and a 45/410 barrel for my 44-40. We don't manufacture rimfire barrels for accessory sales. ua-cam.com/video/s5oEhUbFD_g/v-deo.html
      To be succinct about it, the area of a rimfire that must be struck is a much smaller target for the firing pin than the area of a centerfire round. So, the likelihood that putting a rimfire barrel on any of our frames and expecting it to perform is rather low. Before any of our rimfire pistols leave the facility, we test fire them multiple times so that we can guarantee proper operation.
      My suggestion is that folks purchase a rimfire, and then get the accessory barrels for that gun. Putting a centerfire barrel on one of our frames that originally had a rimfire barrel on it is fine...just not the other way around.

    I get why the rough design is offered for price point, but I'm a gun snob. I like that fully polished finish and I've always thought of a Bond Arms gun as something worth aspiring to and saving up for.
    To me a bead blasted Bond is like ordering a Holland&Holland shotgun but having them spray paint the barrels. After seeing and handling a fully polished Snake Slayer with its rosewood grips, I was ruined for anything lesser.
