    I am so happy that I found your channel! You are a wealth of information ♥ My bloodwork shows that I am low estrogen but I have same symptoms including weight gain mid section-restless leg syndrome and hot cold at night plus the mood swings? I am 54 and have been on HRT in the gel form lowest dose which has helped my nighttime routine, but the weight won't budge. BTW I have started IF and have been alternating. Working on clean eating within my window too. Any suggestions are appreciated. ⭐

    This popped up at the right time for me. I am postmenopausal and just had an
    ultrasound for previous fibroids. They have shrunk tremendously, but my endometrial lining had a thick spot that the doctor is concerned about. I am going to jump back onto keto after Christmas and make sure that I add these foods to my diet before they do a hysteroscopy and possible hysterectomy. I appreciate all of this information, thank you Dr. Mindy!!

    Hello.. I am new to your community. thank you for your helpful videos! I am a homogenous APOE4 carrier - which puts me at the highest genetic risk for late onset Alzheimer's disease and cardiovascular disease. If you know anything about this then you know that the wise choice for a way to eat is a whole food, plant based diet. As an APOE4 carrier my body tends to hyper-absorb saturated fats and cholesterol - even saturated plant based fats i.e. coconut oil, palm kernel oil and cocoa butter. I have undergone numerous lipid profiles, some more detailed than others, which have indicated that any added dietary cholesterol and saturated fats to my diet results in an elevation of both my triglycerides and LDL. Therefore, a lot of what is proposed for the ketogenic diet can actually harm those of us who carry APOE4 (which is approximately 15% of the US popluation). To help mitigate my risk factors, I eat a diet rich in cruciferous vegetables, other colorful veggies and fruits, orange and purple sweet potatoes, lots of beans and lentils, nuts and seeds, and complex carbohydrates in the form of quinoa, brown , black and wild rice, oats, millet and barley. All of my fats and proteins are plant based - very little, if any oil (EVOO & avocado, only). No foods containing preservatives, that are heavily processed - usually not processed at all (thus "whole"), no added sugars, etc. I began the 16-8 intermittent fasting regime over a month ago. Fantastic! This is the pattern of intermittent fasting that has been recommended by Dale Bredesen, M.D. (an internationally recognized expert in the mechanisms of neurogenerative diseases & researcher out of California who specializes in Alzheimer's risk mitigation and in some cases reversal of symptoms in the early stages of dementia). Please provide more information in your videos for those of us who cannot eat a ketogenic diet for health reasons. It seems like everyone and their grandma is on this high meat, high fat diet - which the majority of the nutritional research indicates is extremely dangerous to maintain for anyone, not to mention for those who are APOE4 carriers (please read, if you haven't already "The China Study," by T. Colin Campbell, Phd & Thomas M. Campbell II, MD).

    I would like to hear more on osteoporosis and fasting and what do you think of strontium for your bones? I’m 73 and I’ve been taking strontium for probably five years and I haven’t gone any further and bone loss for this time but I haven’t heard much more research on it.

    • @DrMindyPelz
      @DrMindyPelz  Рік тому

      Osteoporosis and fasting can be an interesting topic, and strontium is a supplement that some individuals use for bone health. However, it's essential to discuss these concerns with a healthcare professional to ensure the best approach for your specific situation. They can provide personalized guidance and monitor your bone health over time.

I have more than a year eating more healthy I wasn doing it before too but since a year more but I think I need to eat more protein more fat because also my good cholesterol is a little bit down the other one is fine and all my studies were fine super good they said but I still have symptoms like menopause. Try Trader Joe’s refrigerator sauerkraut. Has a few Persian melon slices. They move it around may need to ask, usually top shelf above hummus and raw pizza dough. Not too sour, good right out of the square short jar. Natural fermented, raw! Also buy 2 bottles of their Vitamin D3. $4.99 + tax. Take 1 capsule daily. Right amount for adults at 5000 units per. Two bottles will get you past this dark winter. Will help you live beyond the virus. Doesn’t cure but builds strong immunity against the virus, flu and colds. The Kefir is good there too. No I don’t work there.

      Some people experience good control over estrogen dominance within one month of taking DIM + Calcium D-Glucarate. If you are getting a good mix of the above recommendations and rotating and getting variety, it will go a long way to eliminating or mitigating the bad estrogen. You will be surprised at how quickly the body responds. Usually one to three months.

      Yes - great for probiotics. Just keep in mind that it is fermented black tea, typically, so it has caffeine. If you are sensitive to that you might want to drink it earlier in the day. It can also be a good substitute for wine or beer if you want to be festive on special occasions.

Now it has been 5months since no period at all and idk what to do. Isn't keto supposed to balance our hormones ??? Im so confused. Idk what to do. I went to the gynecologist and she said i have nothing wrong.. my mom asked me to quit keto and to at least introduce fruits to my diet but I refused. Pls tell me what should I do?

    Dr. Mindy, I feel so confused about cruciferous vegetables!! For decades I avoided them at doctor's recommendation upon an IBS diagnosis; then, ~6 years ago learned (via Whole30) I could heal my gut to be able to tolerate them again, especially if I keep Beano handy, but last fall (age 51) was simultaneously diagnosed as menopausal & hypothyroidic (both based on test results) and read cruciferous veggies are goitrogens!! My enlarged thyroid troubles me, so I had resumed eliminating cruciferous veggies, but don't know what you'd now recommend given your report that they both tackle bad estrogens & help bolster the good!! I also take 37.5 mg iodine daily which eliminated Very Troublesome fibroids, both breast & uterine, that almost led to an ablation or hysterectomy & am currently on 37.5 mg levothyroxine. (Started w/25 when TSH hit 12, then up to 37.5 @ last reading of 6.5.) HELP?!?

      @@joyoflearning2124 I'll have to go back and check my medical records for sizes, but I can tell you I went down 1-2 cup sizes when I got the FBD under control. I eliminated ALL SOY (doesn't matter whether it's organic), minimized eggs and gradually increased iodine from 12.5 mg/day to 37.5.
