This video is not intended for children under the age of 14. Quite frankly, kids...I'm just some random old dude talking about nostalgic TV and movie stuff from a really long time ago and I highly doubt that it is going to interest you.

Rest in peace, Ken. You were an icon to an entire generation. Gone too soon.
Thank you for showcasing Ken Osmond, AKA Eddie Haskell. I was a big fan of the show, and it’s very refreshing to see a child actor that didn’t turn to drugs and alcohol, and actually became a real hero. Someone that is an inspiration.
Ken is quite the inspiration!
RIP Ken... We all have had an Eddy Haskell in our life, thank you for making me laugh.
Of Course it wouldn't be the same without GOOD Ol' Eddie!
I am happy to hear how he turned out glad he survived being wounded in the line of duty. Heck of a stand up guy.
The best, hey I always knew their was something good in him lol.
My wife and I still enjoy that show! The 1950's were really the Golden Age of television.
So much of todays TV is just pure trash!
R rated or worse!
It's refreshing to just sit back and enjoy "Leave it to Beaver"!
Robin, you took the words right out of my mouth!
Right on Robin !
Robin Jacobs
Lawrence Welk thanks you.
Of all the shows from the late 1950s and early 1960s, the only one I purchased the DVDs on is "Leave It To Beaver." Just in case MeTV (M-F 7a and 7:30a CT) removes LITB from its lineup, I can still see them on DVD anytime. No other show focusing on child actors was as good in capturing the youthful and innocent days of exploring the world and growing up as LITB.
What’s about when mrs cleaver said “Ward, weren’t you a little hard on the beaver last night”?
That was pretty R rated.
Eddie reminds me of a friend I had in high school. You never knew if he was being sincere or was just trying to butter you up.
Until proven differently, I would always opt for sincere with those folks. 🙂
Thank you Dave I've enjoyed all your videos. Glad to hear "Eddie" served his Country and the City of L.A. Again thanks for the memories.
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, RGPB!

Eddie Haskell was definitely a smooth one! Mrs. Cleaver was hip to Eddie's schmoozing.
Yep, it was near impossible to pull the wool over June Cleaver's eyes!
Plus, she spoke Jive.
To Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver, Eddie referred to Beaver as "young Theodore." To Beaver in private, "Little Jerk."
@@rkelsey3341 Not until that Airplane movie.
😅😅😅
Growing up back in that era was a treat! TV was a great form of entertainment! Shows had substance and a strong powerful message back then!
When I was in my 20s I would come home from work and eat dinner while watching these reruns. The Eddie character was very entertaining to say the least, he played it very well! Hats off to him for his service!
Totally agree, JJ Grif! Kudos to Mr. Osmond for his service!
I always loved June, in fact I met a girl named June in 75 and married her in 1981 and she is still with me, and sometimes she wears pearls and high heals just for me :) :) :) :)
Your June sounds like a wonderful lady! What is that? 38 years? Holy cow! Congrats to both of you. 🙂
Does she, while cooking too? 😜😛
81' wow! Took a long time until you married her : ))
OLSKOOL You are a blessed man.
🌝🌝🌝🌝
Eddie used to crack me up... One of the highlights of a great show!
Eddie was one of the reasons the show was so darn special!
Agree.
Leave it to Beaver - on my Mount Rushmore of favorite comedys ! 1 - The Honeymooners - 2 Amos and Andy - 3 Leave it to Beaver - 4 - Andy Griffith . I love Lucy has to be on here . I think these were the Best and funniest comedys. Of course I do have other favorites too .
Leave it to beaver, what wholesome show. My heart longs for those days growing up Eddie, Wally and Beaver I got to shake hands with Beaver, when was out here in the Seattle area a while ago
@@glennbarrett7234 your heart yearns for me those days ) I couldn't have said it better myself )
I am 66yrs old,and a die-hard Leave it to Beaver fan forever.
Me too, I think one of the best if not the best show evet
That's wonderful and your 66 year old butt stinks
I'm not there yet but a Fan and still watch it on MeTv 😇😇😇👍👍👍
I believe it was Tony Dow who complimented Ken Osmond by saying he was probably the best actor of all the child actors on the show. He further clarified his statement by saying that Osmond was definitely playing against type. In other words, Ken Osmond was NO Eddie Haskell.
Great comment, John. And...I am not surprised in the least to hear that Ken was playing against type.
I also read about Tony saying Ken was the best actor of all the ones on the show. No doubt the Eddie character is one of the most famous of all the characters on television from the 1950s and 1960s, because he stood out against the sweet, ordinary goody-goody types that predominated on television with child actors and actresses.
I Jerry Mathers said it also. Considered Ken Osmond one of the best comedians ever.
Very impressive. Way to go Ken. Thank you for serving your community!
Leave It To Beaver was a great classic sitcom, and the entire cast was wonderful. I enjoyed the character of Eddie Haskell because he made me laugh, and to this day I've known at least a dozen people like him. Ken Osmond was great in that role.
Eddie Haskell...a name that is known and understood even to this day. Great show!
Great job on the reflection of Ken Osmond. I really loved his acting and all of the actors actually in that wonderful show! Thanks for your great videos Dave!
That’s a lovely tribute you’ve written, Mr. Sundstrom. (Said in Eddie Haskell’s voice 😉)
Mrs. Cleaver:"Ok, Eddie, what is it?" She was always on to his garbage...lol
lol
Hahahahah
Quite a guy.....obviously not obsessed with stardom and fame. That's pretty rare among the Hollywood crowd.
What an incredible character actor.
Great memories of the show
E: that's a very nice dress you're wearing today mrs. Cleaver.
J: why thank you Eddie
He was a smooth operator 😷🛌🔪🥑
Peter Piperman Lol.... yep, whenever he was up to no good that was his favorite compliment.
I was visiting my grandparents in Pittsburg years ago. It must have been in the seventies, as I was in single digits.
I was up before everybody else, so I trundled down stairs and switched on the massive cabinet television. An old BW TV show came on, and within a few minutes, I was hooked. I don't remember the episode, but I remember Miss Landers. So not only was I hooked on the show, but I was in love as well.
I am still a huge fan to this day.
This was and is a very important piece of my childhood.
Great comments, Roi! Thank you so much for sharing your memories!
One of my favorite characters on Leave It To Beaver. He added an invaluable element to the show’s lighthearted comedy.
Eddie was great character for his time, all time great.
Totally agree, Mikes 62!
Good stuff on this clip ... RIP Eddie
What a great American hero. Thank you for your service.
Another good one Dave. Ken Osmond was really the opposite of Eddie Haskell according to Jerry Mathers in an interview. He was nice and polite to the younger cast members and would buy them ice cream and help them out on the set and off. All the "beat it squirt" and "Wally tell your creepy brother to get lost" and the conniving deviousness that had a wary June and Ward keeping a watchful eye on him, was a whole different persona. Ken played Eddie very convincingly. One of my top five all time favorite shows. Also glad to hear of his service to his country and the LAPD.
Great comments, Glenn! Thanks for posting!
So cool! This gave me goosebumps. So awesome he is still doing great things. Also sad, the aging of the characters and unfortunately the loss of some characters makes you realize how short our time is and do enjoy everyday to the most!!! Thanks for posting. This was great. Honestly. Keep doing what you’re doing. We all enjoy it.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement, Chad. It really means a lot!
On the other hand, if our time wasn't so fleeting, would we really appreciate what we have.
It's too early on a holiday for such musings. Happy 4th.
I always loved how the writers/creators of the show would always have Wally tell Eddie to "cut it out, Eddie!"
I remember when the story broke LAPD officer Ken Osmond was shot in the line of duty. I couldn't recall the exact year, but it was in the early 1980's (You clarified that, Dave, with it being the fall of 1980). At the time, the black-&-white newsprint picture showed Ken in his police service uniform without a helmet or hat. He pretty much still looked like "Eddie Haskell" in that photo - except with a requisite cop mustache. Fortunately, he was not seriously wounded but did, indeed, take gun fire. I was unaware he served in the U.S. Army reserve, but did know he has been active for years with supporting veterans. That last bit about Ken's visit to a group of incarcerated men is a pleasant surprise. What a guy! A former child actor, and former law enforcement officer giving his time to help out some of the people he could have at one time put in that place. I will have to read his books for sure! Thanks again for doing what you do here on UA-cam.
Great comments, Ronald! And...you're welcome!
My best friends mom used to call me Eddie Haskel. It wasn't until highschool that I horrified.
Great job I had a friend like that as well‼️ It was never boring ‼️And naturally he is nothing like his character on the show. But he did his character so well everyone thinks he is‼️ Wow a police officer and shot in the line of duty‼️Nice tribute‼️Thanks for sharing‼️
You're most welcome, Thelma!
Oh, to have moms look like June again.
Here's to all the stay at home moms who put family first...👊🇺🇸
SO TRUE!!!!!
My wife is about as close to June with all her loving. Ways . o what a blessing..we wouldn't be a family with out my wife. To all reading this please pray for my wife.
In one episode, June says to Wally, "You know, there are some women who are doctors and lawyers?"
That was back then. And heres to All moms who bust their butts to keep their families fed. cooked, cleaned, washed a load of clothes AFTER a long day at the job. A working mom was no less a dedicated mother than those who were fortunate enough to choose. Get over yourselves.
Right after feminine fashion.
I always use his line, "Hello Mrs Cleaver" when I'm talking to my friends mothers on Facebook :)
"Might I say that's a lovely ensemble, Mrs.Cleaver."
Thank you so much for posting this. These old shows always take me back to a time that I wish I go back to.
Enjoy: m.imdb.com/title/tt0050032/quotes
You're most welcome, Carol!
I always thought Eddie was complementing June to try and get on her good side. But she saw right through him. Lol
Yep, that June Cleaver was a pretty smart cookie!
She rolls her eyes
Your right Melody - to get on her good side ) not because he had a crush on her !
* complimenting. But too her true and his wiseguy characters comedically complemented each other.
Eddie Haskell was my first introduction to the fast talking, wise cracking, think on your feet teenager. Such a natural talent.
Eddie was to me a light that shined bright for the SUCCESS of this program FUNNY funny guy.
i'm 67 and still watch the show all the time, Eddy makes the show.
Thank heavens for MeTV!
I used to watch that show but can't today to wishy-washy I still check out combat Andy Griffith Show Gunsmoke movies like that
I love Eddie, BUT ofcourse Beaver is my #1!!!👍❤
Sounds like he is one terrific guy! Loved the show, each and every episode. Miss 'em.
Oh, the places your channel takes me! Thank you!! 😊
You're most welcome, JVTP!
Rip my heart truly aches🥺
They may come as good as Ken, but they don't come any better
I'm totally voting "crush"!! I'm glad YOU said it!! The eye contact and body language in those scenes where he compliments Mrs. Cleaver on her outfit or her hair tell the story. I've never heard Ken Osmond say it in so many words, but it's almost palpable how sincere the wiseguy flatterer seemed to become in those moments. btw, he should get extra kudos for essentially playing two parts as the same character.
Great comments, DrQuizzler!
Thank you for sharing these stories!
You are most welcome, Carolyn!
Leave It To Beaver was a warm wonderful show that I have enjoyed since it debuted when I was a toddler. Watching the Cleaver family has given me uncountable hours of pleasure over the years. I have the complete series box set and always watch it on the ME TV channel. Ken Osmond as Eddie Haskell was, quite simply,THE finest portrayal of a character in a sitcom in the history of television
You know...I really love Ken's portrayal of Eddie Haskell as well. 🙂
Ken Osmond had the most challenging role on LITB. It's amazing that a kid his age could convincingly convey the kind of sarcastic wit that was written into every one of his lines. I'm glad Osmond found a way to lead a sane life despite his fame, but it's too bad his talents as an actor were not put to use after he left the show.
He was my all time favorite Beaver character! He grew up to be a great guy
Thank you for posting your excellent video on Ken Osmond!
You are most welcome, JackFlemingFan!
Ken Osmond: June 7th, 1943 - May 18th, 2020. Rest in peace, Eddie.
I still watch leave it to beaver ever morning.☺️
I probably don't watch it every day...but I watch it as often as I can! 🙂
Eddie Haskel-Ken Osmond a rare find indeed. Much enjoyed his character and we're amonng the best episodes. Thanks for the memories Eddie (Ken)👍❤
Totally agree, Lasting Impressions!
I read Ken’s book a few years ago. An inspiring read and one I would recommend to any L. I. T. B. fans. Thanks for another winner Dave!
I've heard it's good. I've added to it to my queue at our local library. Hopefully, I get my hands on a copy soon!
Love your videos ! Thanks so much Dave !
I'm 60yrs old and still watching.😊
Rest in Eternal Peace Ken Osmond.
If you didn’t have a friend like Eddie growing up , then you missed out . Everyone needs an Eddie
I think you're right, Raymond. Everyone needs an Eddie (or an Edwina) in their life!
YES!!!
I used the term Eddie Haskell to describe someone just the other day😂😂😂
I loved that guy❣️❣️
RIP Ken Osmond - he'll always be the inimitable and legendary "Eddie Haskell" to American TV viewers.
I was very sad to hear about his passing Monday
R.I.P. "Eddie Haskell" May 18, 2020
"Good morning Mrs Cleaver. Is Wallace available"? Love all of them. Hugh Beaumont was so great. Dont get hollered at.
I still have the newspaper clipping when he got shot and was recuperating as an LAPD officer.
I met him in 1978. He worked with my cousin's neighbor on the police force. He was a motorcycle cop. He was really nice and laughed and joked with us. It was cool to meet him.
Sounds like a fun experience, Leasa!
As a little kid, Eddie Haskell represented everything intimidating about the big kids.😂🤣
LOVE EDDIE HASKELL/KEN OSMOND ALWAYS! Thank you Dave!!!
You're welcome, Peaches!
Another great review of my favorite show from back in the day. Glad I found your channel.
I'm glad you found my channel too, canada calling!
I didn't watch the show but he seems like a good guy, really.
Yep. He is a really good guy.
He was definitely one of the supporting actors that made the show so awesome! Such an interesting life as well. Thank you!
Great job.
Thank you.
You're welcome, Chip!
Watching old re runs gave me a sharp eye when raising my kids and bringing an eddie Haskell or two around.
We were just talking about being able to spot a "Eddie Haskell" last night!
Thank you for the upload 💜
You're most welcome, Shanan!
Ahhh, memories! THANK you!❤
You're welcome, Val!
Another documentary well done. Thanks!
Thanks Blackwood 5225!
Love this your video popped up in my recommended RIP a great icon Ken Osmond
I like it that your videos are always so upbeat
Thanks Sandra!
Eddie Haskell might have been my favourite character on the show. He was such a wiseguy and the irony is, everyone saw through his act. Underneath it all, he had a heart. I forget the episode, but Eddie did something nice for Beaver which was really out of character. It prompted Beaver to remark that Eddie wasn't such a bad guy. I have the highest respect for Ken Osmond, having served his country, and serving in the line of duty as a cop..and surviving multiple shots. He must be one tough dude. Thanks for filling me in on Ken's history, Dave! He is quite a character.
Yep, Ken Osmond is great!
Yeah, I remember that specific episode, 'Rometiklan' (I think I watched it sometime last year)....and I am in agreement with you on everything you stated here. :-) !!!
Rometiklan cut it out eddie. ha ha .
Love your videos. I think Leave it to Beaver was a very well written show and I still enjoy it today. The actors and writers from that show should be very proud of what they accomplished.
Totally agree, jacquestedcooper! And...I'm glad that you are enjoying my videos. 🙂
Leaver it to Beaver was a well written show - glad you could see a hat ! I once read a review about - leave it to Beaver some years ago - and it said that it was one of the most beautiful written shows - showing life from a child's point of view ) And he was Right !
Ment to say .... you could see That !
Hi Dave, Happy 4th of July! Well now, good day to recall Eddie Haskell cuz he was a "firecracker"!! LOVED HIM!! There was no one like Eddie!! He stood out as the one character who just was born to cause trouble and get a kick out of it!! Nothing is perfect in life, there's always that one fly at the picnic that keeps ANNOYING everybody...that's Eddie, but he was a good looking fly!!
Happy 4th of July to you as well, Susan!
I recently came across your channel. I like your easy speaking. You sound down to earth and I really like your content.
Ken Osmond was perfect what a character, everybody had a Eddie Haskell in their life and mine.
Lol I loved Eddie he remind me of that one friend we all had, brother or even the little bit of Eddie Haskell that's in all of us. =D
Totally agree, Noemi! We all, from time to time, can be just a little bit like Eddie. 🙂
Had the honor of meeting this man at a donut shop during his work for the LAPD got an autograph nice guy Glendale Winchell's......
Love that, I was wondering just this and ah there it is, so glad to hear about his life!
It's pretty subtle, but Ken's eyes show a kind happiness, or happy kindness in the majority of the photos of him, even in the few in which he isn't smiling. I had heard of him taking up the badge, but not about his taking bullets. Glad he survived. Hope the shooter didn't. Anyway, thanks for another dose of the good stuff. Even though I watched quite a bit of Leave It To Beaver, my strongest memory of Barbara is "I speak jive".
Knock yourself a pro, slick!
"Airplane"....a hilarious movie, indeed. :-) !!!
Just hang loose blood, she gonna catch up on the rebound wit the medicine.
That show was such a favorite just to see what kinds of situations was going on fabulous show.
We all knew an Eddie Haskell, just like we all knew a Larry Mondello, and all the characters portrayed. What a great show. Writers who really understood kids, the only family show actually told from a kid's perspective.
He fit the role perfectly! He was 'bad' without really being bad! Hats off to the producers for coming up with a character like that!
Kid in the neighborhood back in the '70s named Ennis - (I mention the last name only because, somehow, it always seemed so Haskell-like) - who would come over to play, but not before flattering my mother first. He would proceed to go crazy with my toys and break them. I don't think he meant to do any harm; he just had no filter on his actions once he started playing. He'd always rush out of the house before there could be any consequences for his actions. My mom always called him "Eddie Haskell."
Yah, he does sound like a real "Eddie Haskell"! Thanks for sharing your memories of that scaliwag, Kevin!
Today that kid would likely be diagnosed as O.C.D. and/or A.D.H.D. and loaded up with Adderall.
@@ronaldschild157 sad but true
Yeah....we had one of those in our neighborhood back in the day!!!
I think we all did, Mike!
A great tribute to a very fine man, and yes, I highly recommend reading Ken's book! Some other trivia: Barbara Billingsley had a steak house restaurant called "Billingsley's" located near the Van Nuys Airport. One of the best steaks that I ever had! Jerry Mathers real life father, Norman Mathers was the principal at my high school in the San Fernando Valley. For our senior class, he had Larry Fine, (one of the original 3 stooges), give an inspring talk, then later in the semester he had Yvonne De Carlo, (Lily from the Munsters TV program), give another inspiring talk to our senior class as well.
Thank you for posting.
You're welcome, David!
Rest In Peace, Eddie! Ken Osmond 1943- 2020.
Oh yes I had a Eddie Haskell for a best friend. Great memories.
I think we all had a friend like him, Joe. Of course, I think some of my friend's parents might have thought that I was the "Eddie Haskell"!
Man I gotta say, I'm so happy that I found your channel very recently. I had no idea that he became a cop. I didn't even know that he was still alive. Thanks alot for all of your digging, to bring us such great stuff ! I remember Jerry Mathers doing an episode on Married With Children. Love the trips down memory lane. Great job 👍
Love the show. Thanks for this!
Thanks for this! And yes! Eddie definitely had a little crush on June. 😍🥰
You're most welcome, TAO TAO! And...thank you for confirming my suspicion. 🙂
Thanks so much for your channel! You always generate positive feelings for your viewers, and I always end up smiling after watching. Thank you for your high quality, and good natured work! ♥️
Wow! Thanks. I never saw it that way. I always thought he was just a little apple polisher.
Dave, Absolutely not. Besides that was not the way his character was witten.

I am not sure. I am thinking he may have a crush on her.
Even by today's standards, she was hot!
Did you ever notice that sometimes Eddie would admit to The Beaver or Wally that he was aware of his” bad boy” behavior? Oh and what STILL cracks me up are all the names he had for Wally. Like “ How’s it goin Gertrude?” He had so many. Great comic timing and truthful acting. Ken Osmond was such a handsome child and teen/young adult actor and he’s still very handsome. Wow I didn’t know that Mr. Osmond joined the reserves and played Eddie! Awesome video about my favorite thing show ever.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, ibrake4butterflies! BTW, you've got an awesome username. 🙂
Ibrake4 - I always thought those other names he called Wally were funny too. "Sam" seemed to be his favorite one. 😊
YESSSS😂😂😂 “ WHAT’S THE STORY SAM?”

Dave Sunderson Oh I truly did. I’ve seen Mr. Osmond through the years on talk shows but he’s not like Eddie. He never really mentions all these very brave and awesome things he does with his life. Good research sir. Who’s next? Yes I do brake for butterflies.Mostly it’s more of a slight swerve or a slow down. I mean, who would want to ruin a butterfly’s day? 🦋
I am so sad about Ken! I still watch Leave it to Beaver every day on MeTV. He was great as Eddie. This is truly heartbreaking news.
An excellent tribute to a fun guy... thank you!
