One of my favorite episodes was "Teacher Comes to Dinner." In it Miss Landers comes to Beaver's house, and in one scene when they are at the table, Beaver raises his hand to ask her a question. 😂

That was probably her funniest appearance. Beaver also noticed that Miss Lander's toes were showing!😂

When I watched the show the first time I binged watched it, I researched all of the cast members. It is sad that they are all gone except Beaver, Gilbert, and Larry. I recently lost my husband to cancer. He was only 70. It was a long hard battle and we were together for 51 years. Hence, I’m behind on my video watching. I’m slowly getting back to them. And I’m enjoying them. All I basically watch these days is classic tv. Nothing compares. Thanks for another great video.😊

I used to watch this show non-stop when I was a kid. Early 1980's reruns when I was a kid. It's been so long since I have seen it last. Definitely think it's time for a rematch.

Dave, I love your vids. I'm about your age. I love "Leave it to Beaver", even though most of it was filmed before I was born. I was surprised that you didn't mention that Stanley's real life brother Tiger, also appeared on the show, as Wally's friend Tooey. 🙂

Loved Leave It To Beaver and also loved the New Leave It To Beaver shows! These were shows that I grew up watching through re-runs when I was a kid. Sad to hear that some of the cast members are no longer with us, but they will forever live on with the show!

Great video, Dave! I used to watch "Leave it To Beaver" as a kid, but I don't think I've seen it in 30 years or more. You covered a lot of material that I hadn't heard before! Regarding Richard Matheson, as I'm sure you know, he's one of Stephen King's favorite writers, and his story "I Am Legend" is one of King's favorites.

Sure did love Miss Landers. Had some great teachers i guess. But would have loved having a teacher like her. And Stanley
..couldn't believe how short he was... when all the guys were getting taller, he just stayed short. But he held his own. He was really good on the the show

14:25 On "SCTV", the added a new dimension to Lumpy by having him murder someone. I don't think that would have worked on the original show.

Dave! I'm so glad you reviewed Pleasantville. Oh, wait....never mind. Still amazing stuff.
But....I think this show was more nuanced than that. The parents weren't perfect, and the show was done from the perspective of the kids. The Pleasantville comparison is better applied to Father Knows Best.
I mourn Sue Randall to this day. She was a beautiful ace.
I could not stand "Old Lady Crump." I thought she was terrific initially. But the show turned her into a one-note jealous harpy, and they kept writing to that narrow meme. See her in the episode when they get "rescued" from the cave by Barney, or even the episode with the Mayberry Minutemen, to see her in a great light. Such good promise, and such a waste of a beautiful actress and interesting character.
How about that Frank Bank, huh? Like Ken Osmond, Frank made his mark in the world beyond what he accomplished as a child (teen) actor.
I'm sorry for Stanley. But he lived the life he chose. But Whitey rules!
Didja see Edie McClurg in the Corn Flakes commercial! You should do a piece on her (if you haven't already!).
