Kenneth Charles Osmond (June 7, 1943 - May 18, 2020) was an American actor and policeman. Beginning a prolific career as a child actor at the age of four, Osmond is best known for his iconic role as Eddie Haskell on the 1950s television situation comedy Leave It to Beaver, and for having reprised it on the 1980s revival series The New Leave It to Beaver. Typecast by the role, he found it hard to get other acting work and became a Los Angeles policeman. After retiring from police work, he resumed his acting career.
Nobody could have pulled off Eddie Haskell like Ken Osmond !!!!
they really caught lightning in a bottle when they cast him. he was capable of drama, also.
Exactly, he done so well playing Eddie that I actually had a disdain for Eddie, he was always being shady & outright disrespectful. Which I feel goes to show Ken's exuberant talent as an actor & ability to control a viewer's emotions.
The movie where its seen he has son is magnificent! The boy who plays Eddie's son, is the spit & image of Eddie Haskel! I was impressed! I got a kick out of watching it. Love the show. I still watch the reruns. Was sadden when we lost him in life. Still he was quite strong when you think of him being shot twice. I never thought he'd be in the movie. I got a kick when he appeared! Nice having seen him as a wise kid and see him grow up to a teenager, then to a man. God bless him! Your right nobody liked you. The truth is because like wasn't enough! Everyone loved you and always will.
@D Sullivan I do not understand why you tagged me & then commented what you did. To me, your comments made zero sense in relation to you replying to my initial comment.
D Sullivan, "one year ago..." What about one year ago? Then you said "Don't you remember", "he was a weasel. he pretended to be respectful"... What was your reasoning for saying any of that? Or your reasoning for asking me if I remembered? Seems you did not read my comment thoroughly! Or you have a severe cognitive issue when it comes to reading! If you just need someone to talk to you could just say that, rather than going about it the way you did.
I love the fact that Tony showed up to support his friend
Especially since he really doesn’t like doing these events
@@richardlacey4923 God bless Tony, Maybe they're together again
Eddie haskell ((((TROUBLE))))
Me too.
Ken, your portrayal of Eddie Haskell is burned into the consciousness of American popular culture and will never be forgotten. Rest in peace -- and thank you for all the laughs!
JYT, great handle.
We have all known a kid like Eddie growing up! RIP Ken and Tony
Eddie Haskell was one of TV's greatest characters-hands down!-RIP Ken Osmond.
Absolutely one of the most memorable characters in television history!
Thank you to the gentleman that saved Ken’s life in an LA shoot out.
I absolutely Love Leave It To Beaver!! I still watch it to this day!!
So nice to see that Ken Osmond and Tony Dow are friends in real life. I also commend Ken on becoming a Police officer and helping make the world a better place. No one would think that Eddie would have done something like that, but Ken is more noble than Eddie. I think it is cool that Tony became a sculpter. You guys did great things in your life. We fans love you and remember you. May you have a long healthy life.
EDDIE HASKELL IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE GREATEST CHARACTERS IN TELEVISION HISTORY
Will try to get the book.
He was my hero, I love it when Wally and Eddie hanging out together
I just absolutely loved the show I still watch it today was just the same kind of feelings I had back then and I'm 69. Wally always reminded me of my older brother. Thank you all for doing such a great show very good acting love you guys. I sure hope they continue do the reruns I would watch it over and over again
I should have said on the message from Debbie that this is her husband Greg I just wanted to make that clear just in case one of you respond I sure hope you do bye
@@debbieames8477 HI, Greg, I watched Leave it to Beaver with an older brother while growing up. It's my favorite show. Recently, I came across a UA-cam video listing the top 10 episodes (someone's opinion), and I wanted to make up my own top 10. I have been watching the series for months. It's really hard to make up a top 10 list. I'm near the end. I found, what I call, just 5 duds. I'm almost 60.
Ken was the best Eddie there could have ever been. I loved his character, and knew a few guys that were like him in real life. He would have been great to know, and will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Ken !
My brother was Eddie Haskill his whole life. Actually worse!!!
Truly, the best actor on the show. Stole the show everytime he walked in the door. Sad he never got his due. But he's in Paradise, now. Congrats, KO!
I'm 68 years old, this was my childhood, God I miss the good old days.
I’m 62 - wish I could meet you!

Very good guy's, I'm 68 and am still watching you every morning.
Same here!
Me too...age 60🤣😂🙋🏼♀️
I'm 54 and watch from 8 - 9 am on weekdays on MeTV...
@@MsJanetLouise That's the ticket, me too.
@@MsJanetLouise me too! I love watching Leave it to Beaver, The George Burns & Gracie Allen Show, Highway Patrol, Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, Dennis the Menace, Perry Mason, My three sons & other old shows in the mornings. Also at night time I love watching The Twilight Zone, The Alfred Hitchcock Show, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Green Acres, Canon, Mannix, Tells of Wells Fargo, Have Gun Will Travel & some others. I'm a HUGE fan of old television shows, especially the black & white shows!
Imo TV shows nowadays are not near as good as they were back in the 1950s & 1960s.
I watch the show every day, It's like having my own time machine it brings you back to simpler times.
These men are national treasures.
BY THIS INTERVIEW ONE CAN SEE THE GENUINE FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE TONY DOW AND KEN OSMOND HAVE FOR EACH OTHER MUCH LIKE WALLY & EDDIE HAD
Great show that was all about family, loyality, friendship and decent morals. The fact it has held up for so many years is heart warming.
The greatest wiseguy ever R.I.P. Ken Osmond ❤️🙏😪
An all time American classic. Eddie Haskell was one of my favorites, his wise cracks were so funny. Thanks for posting guys. John
I've often wondered if he was really acting or if it was his nature. He looked the part.
@@TheFishdoctor1952 truth. I've wondered the same thing for years! LOVE watching Leave it to Beaver.
He is like a family member. His death. Has been really heart breaking. More than anybody. Outside of true family member. RIP Ken.
Rest in peace dear Ken. Thanks for the laughs. Rest in peace knowing your many supporters love you and always will.
Without Eddie, this world would've been less than what it is. He was a great contribution to this planet. Thank you, Ken Osmond for playing such a great part on Leave it to Beaver.
Rest in Peace, Ken Osmond. 🌹
We love you Eddie!! Tony , we love you to and of course the Beave! Sincerely Sheree C.
Nostalgia at it's best. Wish TV would be great today like it was then.
I met Mr. Osmond along with the late Frank Bank ("Lumpy") in Tacoma WA about 15 years ago. They were both very kind and never gave me the business! Rest in peace, you guys!
Great interview with Ken and Tony; I wish it could have been longer as there were interesting questions put to them. Rest in Peace to you gentlemen, long live your contribution to our television history.
If there was ever a guy who lived a "full" life, it was Ken Osmond. RIP, sir.
Amazing show, child actors, writers, they all nailed it! Kens first shooting involved just about every dangerous element....motorcycle chase, using the bike as a weapon, struggle over handgun, point blank shots fired.
The Haskell laugh!!! That's the best!! Great interview though, tons of laugh out loud moments!!
YOUR "OL MAN IS GONNA CLABBAH YA, SQUIRT ! - KO, you were the BEST !!
This is a great post. Thanks so much for sharing.
What a wonderful video to watch. Thank you.
Leave it to Beaver will always be with me, I watched it at age 4, and I watch it everyday now! as friends and family pass on the Cleavers are still here and it's a comfort of sorts. Thanks.
MAGOO Rumor has it that Mr.T watches Bewitched too much- keeps tweeting Witch Hunt! every time he sees it(a little respite TV from Fancy Watusi)- and stormys out of the room
LTB indeed more comforting
Watched the show every week with my parents and siblings and loved every episode. Great life lessons in every episode and good role models. Thanks for the memories.
Why on earth would anyone give this a thumbs down???
as a great stage actor once said on his death bed(played by Peter O'Toole in 'My favorite Year'), "dying is easy. comedy is hard''. for a kid to create a character like Eddie Haskell, is quite impressive. and when you are a kid watching it, it goes right over your head, just how talented these actors were.
Two guys that are really down to earth and would have been a pleasure to have known. To bad they’re both gone but they both left a legacy!
First time i sat to watch this whole thing. I truly enjoyed this. RIP to Mr. Dow and Mr. Osmond. Thanks for the laughs guys.
There was only one man who could play Eddie Haskell, and he was Ken Osmond. Kudos to Bob Connelly and Joe Mosher for creating Eddie Haskell and choosing the right guy to play him.
You mean Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher.
Yes I did😆
I got the book. It was so good I found it hard to put down! I always loved EDDIE. After reading this fascinating book ,I totally respect & admire Ken Osmond.
eddie haskell was creep but a lovable creep..
I talked to him at a after book signing party and unfortunately he was a jerk to me....
WHAT HAPPENED ?
Does he talked about his role in "C'mon, Let's Live A Little"? I thought it was a strange but interesting performance.
Donna Castel You want another wonderful book Donna? Get Lou's On First, a heart warming bio of Lou Costello by his loving daughter, Chris.I could not put it down; it vibrates with love for her pa and Ma.
Thank you Ken Osmond & Tony dow. You both were great actors & I love the show leave it to beaver. One great show & still great today. Eddie was a bully & a trouble maker in leave it to beaver but he played the part well. In my opinion the actors & actresses was the best. They all played their part so well & made you want to be a part of that family. In my opinion it was the best show of that time. R.I.P EDDIE & Lumpy & June & ward & so many more. The show was so awesome & will always be the best. Thank you all so much for the parts you played & for a great family show.
I love Eddie Haskell!!! He makes you laugh in LITB. Long live Wally, Eddie, and Beaver actors!!
Eddie Haskell was a one of a kind! I Loved Leave it to Beaver!
Wonderful, fun interview. Thanks for sharing! It's been over 60 years and these men still look fantastic and just like they did years ago, only with more wrinkles and white hair. I'm a new super fan of Leave it to Beaver and I've just fallen in love with these guys!
This is gold! Thank you for sharing this!
All though I love 'em all, my favorite episode was of Eddie riding the roller coaster. Classic!
My favorite was the hunting jacket episode. I don’t think Eddie was in that one though.
I loved the horror movie one. Perfect!
Im 50 now and I watch Leave It To Beaver EVERY morning on ME TV. I just love it, thanks for all the great episodes.
Same here, and still watching today!

Great guys and actors! I still am in love with Tony Dow. His character on LITB, put up with alot of stuff from "The Beav."
As a kid, I loved this show. Ken and Tony were only a couple of years older than I am and Jerry Mathers was a year younger so I could relate to me.
One of my all-time favorite TV show Loved the characters Thanks 4 sharing
Loved the insights into Ken and Tony's life and careers. I was born in 1955 so I grew up with the show and again with the reruns. I agree with Tony that there was always a subtle lesson to be learned. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and videos, Rodney
I do not remember who said it on Happy Days ( probably the Fonz) But the lie was I wish it could 1955 Forever. I was also born in 1955. And that bc there were shows like leave it to beaver
R.I.P. Tony and Ken...in our hearts forever ❤❤
Can't believe Ken has passed he was so talented i so wished I could have met him thank you for your services in the navy ken as well as serving for the city of Los Angeles police department
I watched every morning on MeTv Leave it to Beaver
Me too right after The Beverly Hillbillies and My Three Sons. But, they do two episodes of Leave it to Beaver.
I liked the show better when Beaver was little. When he was a older teenager, he seemed goofy.
I'm 65 and still watch the show - Eddie is my favorite of all time !!!!!!!
Ken, you four guys are the top of the list, Tony, Jerry and Lumpy will always be my favorites, plus Mr & Mrs Cleaver some of the best parents that gave the best family values that parents now days don't bothered to teach, just cursing, negative behavior like stealing, fighting bulling and more.Ive seen this witness this and I was so blessed to have been brought up in the 50s.
yes Larry, they were very good but trying yrs. Thinking what mom & dad dealt with in the forties during World War II they both suffered. Mom's family left Lynn after 1929.. They move back to Greece near Sparta, they luckily kept their US citizenships. I on greece there were bombed by Mussolino in 1940
Later Germans came o occupy Greece for 5yrs.Then the bloodiest Greek Civil War in '45 to 1949 Communists came from upper Balkans to take over Greece her family was saved by the state department bringing back to US citizens to boston which saved her family . My dad served London during the Blitzkrieg and later in France..He had a heart attack then came back disable with post traumatic stress syndrome..While back In Lynn, Mass. where they were both born they met at a veterans dance then got married in 1950.move to New York for work. I was born in 51 and my sister 54. Well before I was ten I was observing how dad and mom were dealing with their post traumatic stress's Dad is like the powder cag with his anger or depression I couldn't tell.then.And mom has her post traumatic stresses being under the occupation of the Italians and German Nazis for like 6 years and later by the Communists for another4 year...Moms whole family were US citizens they came back to America thanks to the Red Cross or the state department forgot I which one more responsible in gathering all the u.s. citizens back to the US.. so this was the baggage mom and dad brought with them throughout the fifties they had episodes of post-traumatic sometimes with domestic violence other times just the threat of being beaten or belted by dad.. so I have to live with those realities of the fifties with her folks working hard giant finding a escapes by having other Greek families share days of Easter Christmas and birthdays keeping our community very small downtown Brooklyn near Brooklyn Heights in the fifties.. of course the TVs would not that great, small 15 in screens everything looks like it was in kinescope. but they were still escapes for the whole family to watch television or listen to the radio. remember those days well. And trying to remember the TV shows. in the fifties and sixties there just so many great tv from Bonanza to Jackie Gleason. from watching Lawrence Welk and watch Liberace burn up the piano keyboard with his is great music. And of courses all watched and laugh at wrestling and watched the Sons of Hercules and the Steve Reeves TV and the movie theater on those 84th screens well that was a loving and tense period growing up.. Mom will take us to the nice green grass at Prospect Park and tell us the stories and trials of Hercules and other ancient greek figures. like as if she was a storyteller. I can remember all the 50s early 60s clothes she wore.. with all the craziness we had stability they got married. They both worked and they told us to take any job learn a basics and how to communicate with people using this as a stepping Stone but keep moving on up
I was at this book signing in Manhattan Beach. ..... Tony and Ken were super nice guys
R.I.P. Mr. Osmond and Dow thank you both so much for the enjoyment you gave .
Even in their old age they can make me laugh.
Great interview... just saw the episode this morning where Eddie pretends to get hypnotized by Beaver
As a retired cop about the same age as Mr. Osmond I’d welcome the opportunity to meet “Eddie.” We still watch Leave It To Beaver and Eddie was my favorite character.

Watched all episode...watched reruns when they aired here...Love all of the characters..fantastic show❤
What a pity Ken was typecast. He was a very good actor. Eddie Haskell was a fascinating character, and as irritating as he was,, deep down there was a real sadness to him.
RIP Ken.
I think Wally had some of the funniest lines.
Thanks for this video.
We are all BLESSED for these 2 actors and everyone involved in the show. God bless you 🙏 all.
Had the pleasures of meeting Ken several times over the years. Always a sweet & nice guy!
Really like your part and caricature on Leave it to Beaver show, you always brought the show alive with the script you played. Its hard to see such a great program ended, but everyone will always remember you. Thanks for being a part in our lives Eddie.

Love It !! Huge leave to Beaver Fan !!..
This Posting is FABULOUS: EDDIE HASKELL/KEN OSMOND and his Family in attendance, along with the Author of the Book and TONY DOW in attendance and the entire half-hour of Lived Memories Bubbling to the surface throughout. I am so glad I found this today here on UA-cam.
It makes me want to get the Book = "EDDIE", along with the Complete-Boxed-Set of "LEAVE IT TO BEAVER" ...ASAP...WOW !!! Thank you for the posting of this delightful & cherished item here...
The author was my neighbor so I helped him out by making the video. We had a private party and my neighbors house but sorry to ruin an image but Ken was not at all friendly even though I went out of my way to do the video for free...
Eddie Haskell is the most underrated character in tv history and Ken was amazing in the roll stealing every scene he was in.
Seeing Ken coughing towards the end of this video is heart wrenching and seeing him look a bit frail knowing he passed from COPD. SO SAD, R. I. P. Mr. Osmond
Thanks so much; what a delightful presentation! The guys look great and Tony Dow was really funny! I loved the quiz questions and was amazed at how quickly they were answered; there must have been some die hard fans there. I would love to learn more about how Ken Osmond felt playing as such a rascal, but perhaps it is in the book. Well done and thanks for recording this!
