While Raid on Bungeling Bay was quite impressive at the time, Will Wright said it was only a commercial failure due to the pretense of software piracy. The only time it became very successful for him was when the Famicom port was established -- "as cartridges couldn't be pirated". Still, the intelligence that was programmed in this game -- that factories and installations would become more advanced as time progresses -- would serve as inspiration for Wright when he eventually went to develop Sim City. :)
I love this game... I love "Points distribution" game! Improve helicopter shooting, homing missile projectiles, projectile projectile power, and external defense. And the battleship defense is improved!!
Maxis was such a huge part of my childhood! Nice to see some love shown for Will Wright.
Love the Sepultura Roots profile pic. That album was my soundtrack for the mid to late 90's in Highschool
Burned a lot of hours on this game back then. One of the few games that has remained memorable over the years.

Very impressive game for 1984, it's even got a mini map.
the precursor to Desert Strike series...
Wow. This is giving me flashbacks of my childhood.
Holy moly. I only heard of this game today. I thought Desert Strike was the original, this one does now. And 7 years prior. Very ahead of its time.
I like that Lode Runner (another great game from them) also takes place in the same universe: The Bungeling Empire.
I wonder what influence this had on Desert Strike?
The game Will Wright made. and later inspired him to create Sim City.
Which became a launch title for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991.
Many people have no idea about the nostalgia this brings 90s kids
It was a fun game. The drag of the heli made it very challenging. I still like this „mass effect“ when playing „Desert Strike“ or „Jungle Strike“. 💯👍
LPT: You can land at their airstrips to rearm, but not to repair.

great memories
I don't get how this leads to SimCity. That would've been like Peter Molyneux getting inspired to make a street racing game after developing Fable.
He loved the mapping tool more than anything.
I Have A Suggestion Can You Do A Long-play Of NFS Hot Pursuit 2 On The PS2? Nice Work On The PC Videos! 👍
After playing the nes version, I think I would prefer this version much, much more.
isn it looks like segas red zone?
Vietnam War.
the best helicopter game of the 80s was rescue raiders apple2. but this is quite good as well
