- A Commodore 64 game from the creator of SimCity and The Sims, Will Wright and published by Brøderbund in 1984.
Will Wright continued to improve the editor of this game to lately create SimCity.
In this game you take control of a helicopter with the mission of destroy six enemy factories scattered accross several islands. The more factory you destroy the harder the game become, you can repair the helicopter and refill of bombs on your carrier, you can also refills bombs on enemy airports.
If you lose too much time the enemy will build a battleship that fires guided missiles, you got to deal with or it will destroy your carrier. - Ігри
I played it successfully until the End and i remember the Finishing Scene with the Jeep and the waving Soldier up to this day.
Wow!
And i only saw i once in a lifetime.
That shows, what Computergames meant to me in the 80's!
Thanks for the Video!
It took me some time to get to know the name of the game and today, by coincidence, i found it.
What I remember being so cool about this is you could fly around in any direction, instead of it just scrolling down from the top.
Absolutely one of my favorite Commodore 64 games. Loved the dog fights with the jets.
This game directly inspired Sim City. Will Wright had so much fun designing the cities that he decided that the city building would be a good game in and of itself.
Oh damn there's a huge portion of my early childhood.
What I didn;t know back then was that the boats and trains were coloured to match the factories they supplied and the boats worked with the radars to spot you for the white planes to come and find you.
I remember the battleship used to terrify me as a kid. XD I was deathly afraid of it getting loose, so I'd try to keep it in check during its construction.
Me too...I would bomb it....while they bomb my carrier lol
This game was so good, first game designed by Will Wright at age 24.
A modern version of this game would be great
I thought only your carrier refilled bombs. Wow I learned a cool secret today
This was one of my favourite games.
Shit, I didn't know you could just land on the runways to reload weapons. I would always go back to the carrier.
Dude, 35 fucking years later I finally learn that little tip, no wonder that shit felt so difficult, then again I was 8,so that may have played a roll in it too.
@@chrisd530 totally agree!
Same here.....
I was thinking the same thing. That changes everything!!
@@jase1438 Well, there's only that one airfield where you can land - and you would only get bombs, but it wouldn't repair you. If the carrier got sunk you also would be automatically on your last life, but at least you had a place to get bombs so you could, theoretically, still win the battle.
I played the hell out this game. I added ACDC to the soundtrack while playing (specifically This Means War song).
I only beat this game once and the victory parade was worth it!
This might be the first game I ever played. Good times.
Dankeschön 😂❤, alter 40 jahre alt
Never played it but that looks absolutely amazing.
Me and my brothers loved this game . The C64 had so many games that were great during the 80's. We played for hours.... ROBB and Gunship were my favorites and Silent Service, Infiltrator, Ninja Warrior 2, and Winter Games was my brothers.
Nice gameplay; I haven't seen this one in quite a long while.
that hits me right in the childhood there..
this is the first videogame i ever played in my life.
+DinoSystem looks like you were off to a good start!
Even Prime indeed!
I never completed the game, but that would have been a satisfying end scenario, and not the usual 'The End'.
Yeah after you complete the game you have to load a satisfying ending, that's not something that happens so often on C64 games.
Thanks for the memories
woah...flashback..fun
Neat. Pretty rad. Desert Strike is the oldest game I've seen like this.
That was a great game
This game reminded me a fair bit of Sinistar (sort of as a distance cousin)
If I am not mistaken I think this was on cassette with 20-30 minute load time .
Jesus, was it really that easy to win? I seem to recall it taking much, much longer.
Same here. I guess that's the genius of Will Wright, giving us a 6 minute game that we liked so much we look it up on YT 30 years later.
thanx m8
I cant beleve that this game started simcity
Will Wright would continue to develop the engine and editor for this game until It became simcity
the good times
I would crash my chopper in to the factory after a missile strike
First time I won it i got shot down on my last life and fought the controls in the spiral and crashed on last factory to win!
I just realized how Close i was to win this game today 🎉😂
You dont have to take out the battleship? What a ripoff. That should be the boss battle. I love this game still and never saw the ending until now.
No, but if you are slow you have to fight it, otherwise it will destroy your carrier. But you can also bomb it before it get completed to slow down the construction.
I own the original. For sale for the right price
I sucked at this game. pretty sure last time I played it I was 6
WOW, you made this game your bitch!!!!!!
