What was amazing about this game was that the longer you left it to destroy the factories, the more the islands would trade with each other. The more they traded, the more advanced they became. A truly amazing piece of AI that is often overlooked. Will Wright was a programming genius.
WOW! I remember when I first got this for Christmas in 1985. Never was able to actually finish it. Now, thirty-five years later, I want to see if I can do it!!
Curse my older brother, 8 year old me is super pissed, he told me I HAD to destroy the enemy battleship to win the game plus all the radars and factories, so I would always get killed trying to do that. I had no idea you could ignore all of that and just hit the factories.
Correct, the enemy is building a large battle ship, the player's task is to destroy the factories on the island before the battleship is finished. Once finished the enemy battleship is approaching the aircraft carrier to destroy it. The battle ship also shoots heat-seeking missiles after the player's helicopter, so it's better to avoid it.
decent game back in the day. as far as old school helicopter games though the Best was rescue raiders on apple2e. cool as sh-t. for a game with virtually no sound and very basic graphic

There's a reason this led onto Sim City.

Tell if you've done it. It's weird playing a game years later, it is always way harder or way easier than you thought it was. /Gryvix
@@ludophilia I had the game in the '80s. I just found it on a classic games site. After a few tries, I beat it using only one helicopter.
Thanks for completing this game for me, now I have some closure!
My pleasure! You need any other C64 game completed for you? ;)
I loved this game!
Wow this game looks fantastic. Can't believe I never knew about it. There's even a proper ending, nice.
I loved that game 😍
How did the programmer get the scrolling to be so smooth and fast? Amazing.
Will Wright, the genius behind The Sims, etc. That's how.

Your brother turned an already difficult game into an impossible one LOL
loved that game. but I used longer time to finish it
My favorite!
this game inspired him to make simcity
I remember seeing naval ship in this game setting. Is it the same game or different?

Wow. Was not an easy game to win.
