Question... I juat got my manual swap done... Started it up and there is a slight rattle... But if i push tbe clutch in slightly it goes away.. Also.. Brand new clutch is slipping around 3k.. Brand new clutch pressure plate TO bearing etc
@@M3NACE i had a dual mass flywheel and it ended up being bad.. I ended up upgrading to single mass stage 2 and it goes great lmao! Thank yoy for the reply!
Hey wassup bro, I’ve been watching your manual swap videos... I have a 97 328i vert and I have purchased a get rag and a driveshaft out of an 325 .. will everything bolt up .. or I need another driveshaft?
You did not show us how to install all those parts you talked about in the beginning of the video how will I know how to install that stuff if you didn't talk about it?
@@M3NACE holy crap you actually replied this is awesome lol but yes I realized that as I watched/re-watched more of the videos and I had a question I was just on realoem.com and I was looking for parts to do the swap but when I selected my car model ect and went to the manual transmission diagrams it said there were no parts that match my car for manual? I have a 1996 BMW 328i 2.8 m52 I know you said if I have a 328i the parts list is the same so should I just select your car and find all the parts I need that ways or is this a glitch in the site or error on my part? Production date is 07/96
@@joeyo5421 yeah so under trans you need to select manual. If you select auto it will shade out all the manual components. I would try and find a full manual pedal assembly already assembled then use my parts list for the rest.
@@M3NACE ok thanks so much I appreciate the response 👍and as for the site its not letting me click on anything to get part numbers and to see what other cars I can get these parts from I'm now on a computer that is a Mac are you on a Windows operating system? Put a clutch disc in backward once. 93 SHO requires dropping the whole front subframe separating the bell. What a great day. Fyi if your disc is in backwards neutral doesn't exist.
I really hope you’re able to respond but what were your symptoms when it was in backwards? I’m scared I put it in backwards and I’ve been looking everywhere but can’t really find anything
@@Akiravill hey bro, so when I did that. Started the car in neutral no problem. When I pushed the clutch down and went to put it in gear it was like trying to shift gears with out pushing the clutch down. Wouldn’t go into forward or reverse. Essentially the drive is locked up because you can’t disengage the clutch plate from the flywheel when the disc is backwards. Not sure if you’ve got an e36 we’re talking about or an SHO. The SHO is a simple 5spd box that is cable driven(no hydraulic assistance on the throw out bearing) the e36 has the hydraulically assisted throw out bearing. That could be an issue too that would probably display itself in the same manner as a backward clutch disc. Hope this helps. Post back when you figure out. Good luck !
@@mikeb2496 and yeah I do have an e36, for me it just won’t go into gear when the car is on and when I try forcing it the car wants to turn off. When the car is off it goes into each gear fine.
Old vid but do you really like to switch gears at each traffic light? accel, brake, accel, brake. Im driving manual E36 and im so tired of switching gears. Next car will be automatic for me. I know i could swap to atm but not worth the hassle. Especially with 1.6 engine. Just my thoughts
im not to worried about the flywheel being out, it was only in the car for little over a year, and was driven very mildly. It was never really abused, so im sure it never got to hot.
good stuff. I've let em go(never cut the flywheel) on two occasions. never had an issue. keep rockin, your views are getting good on the swap series. congrats buddy
Hey so I’m installing my flywheel right now and it only had 2 dowel pins do you think this would affect anything at allv
nah, the flywheel to crank should only have 1 dowel. youll be fine.

Sorry for the late reply my guy. If you used a lightweight flywheel or single mass, they do tend to chatter.

What locktite would you use for the crank/pressure plate bolts
