Your videos give me some confidence in doing my swap, very informative. my auto transmission just went out on my e36 so time to change it out, never drove a manual before but this will be a learning experience.
I probably will at some point. I'm gonna have someone that's also done it before help me though, because I've never taken on a project like this. But I'm looking forward to learning. These videos are super informative.
@@M3NACE Okay one question so far before I get started; just got the rest of my parts this week! Did you use a Bentley manual or something similar for the swap? Or mostly the internet and your own experience? I've heard some people say it might be worth getting a detailed service manual for any complications, that being said the swap seems fairly straight forward. Thanks
Man I can't keep up, your killing projects!!! Wow! This is great for I've got the 5spd coupe, and now I can see what to watch out for and what to service. Thanks menace!
How many clutch bolts are there? 6? I don't physically have the clutch in front of me and I've never even actually seen one this will be my first manual car so alot of this is Completely new to me, I do pretty much all the work on my car myself but never any transmission work let alone a manual one lol realoem says 6 so Im gonna go with that but I know you know way more then I do/have used it more then I have hence why I'm asking but they said they were fillister head screw? Is that what they are? I just don't want to get anymore wrong parts!?!
So I got everything for the swap basically, missing clutch and flywheel. I had to buy clutch pipes new. I specifically ordered the pipe that is already bent. They sent me a straight one. Is it going to be a pain having to bend and form the straight one myself or would u send it back?
Hey man hope you still see this comment, but as I am trying to collect parts for my swap I just can not find the aftermarket shiftlink that you used. Thanks in advance
Hey what’s up dude. Quick question for ya!! I have a 93 325is mt. She will go through gears smooth while engine is off. When you start engine and try to go into gear, it’s almost impossible. Any idea what I’m experiencing bro?! Thanks in advance
@@tyd.7847 because you cannot get into any gear. if you could not get into just first, its possible it is just that syncro. cant get into any gear? either all the gear syncros went bad simultaneously, of the clutch isnt disengaging. jack the rear end up so the wheels are off the ground, take the parking brake off, turn it on and see if you can get it into gear then. if you get it into first, the wheels should be spinning with the clutch out. push the clutch in, and press on the brake. if the motor stalls with the clutch in, it's not disengaging.
I know my driveshaft is aligned because i had it rebuilt a few years ago. if you bought a driveshaft and dont know if its aligned, it would probably be best to take it to a driveshaft shop so they can confirm it is balanced or balance it. or just send it.
No clue why you don’t have more views. Awesome video. Tons of help. I’m sincerely thankful for your videos.
Same bro, my time will come. Lol, thanks! Glad they are helping🤘

i recommend getting the 6 clutch bolts directly from bmw, they are super cheap and good quality. there are only 6.

Is the cross member different? I coulda swore I heard u say in another video the auto could be reused
Please tell me The m44 engine changed from auto to manual transmission, cutting cycle at 4500 rpm, how to fix the tires?
nice video🙌🏼
do you have a link or number for all clutch lines?
Do you pull the motor out as well when you do the manual swap or just the trans
We just drop the trans and leave the motor in
where do you get the reverse light wire?

Are you refering to the b&m short shift kit or the UUC DSSR rod?
@@M3NACE The UUC DSSR Rod, thanks man. Didnt think you would even see my comment. This series is a great help to me Thank you so much
@@katos8804 no problem man! Good luck with the swap.
Can you use the automatic fly wheel bolts for the manual flywheel
No. If you buy a new flywheel it will come with new bolts for it.

sounds like a fried clutch to me, or the clutch is not disengaging. how does the pedal feel?
M3NACE really ? Thanks for your input man, I was at a complete loss! Pedal feels good actually.
What makes you think clutch btw?

What’s that part # 10:20
Is that the Garagistic dssr?
So this is all I need, if I have all this I can do the swap
Bmw M3 e46 aside from brake fluid, transmission fluid, a new starter, possibly a new rear main seal, tools, and knowledge, yes.

This saved my ass, on a trans replacement
