I really love watching this type of videos! They’re so inspiring and give me ideas to pack light. I usually travel to visit my family for 3 weeks or less and I always travel with a carry on suitcase and a backpack 👌🏻

I went carry on in my world trip 2017. every climate from SEA to Antarctica. Best decision!!! 🙌🏻

I hope you have or had a great trip! I will admit, it was easier traveling when I was skinny vs fat as clothes size makes a difference. Lol. You did a great job packing.

Hi :) I love all your clothes and your concept of minimal luggage :) I love your brown shirt with buttons :) so cute :) I like to put my things by categories in bags too, shoes, underwear, cables....;) I love the ending of the video too, the glance of travel places, it is very an artistic approach :) thank you for your inspiring video :)
And keeping all your liquids, gels, pastes in one see through quart bag with easy access to pull out when going through security.
Essentials are something to read, water bottle, and Earplanes.
I’ve always packed a carry-on only when traveling so I wouldn’t have to pay a bunch of extra fees. I did an 11 day trip to Disney World and only brought a carry-on. Thankfully it was in June where it’s hot and humid so packing shorts and tank tops were easy and didn’t take up much room! I even brought 4 pairs of ears and 3 pairs of shoes. Definitely a puzzle. 😂
It helps packing a carry-on because I’m less likely to buy merchandise that I don’t really need. It saves money for me every time! I’m finally building a capsule wardrobe and I love it. 🥰
You put it well...packing is a puzzle, sometime like an easy kid's one, sometimes like a 1,000 pieces complex design one. 😁

Interesting take on not using packing cubes. I like what you did. I just got back from a one week trip and used carry-on for the first time.
Got to say the one thing I would change is carrying the TSA toiletries bag in your carry-on. Having to deal with taking so much stuff out to put in trays, there is now way I would want to have to open my carry-on to pull out that clear bag. I kept mine in my backpack. So much easier.
Oddly the last time I flew (last November), TSA didn’t ask us to take out our liquids. But I also noticed they got new scanners, bins and conveyor belts. May no longer be a thing? :)
Love your way of packing thanks for sharing. Where did you get your makeup bag from?
I had a small travel razor in the case. But lately I find that taking my regular razor and clipping a large bulldog clip over the end with the blade, tends to take up even less room than the round plastic case.

I hope you enjoyed your stay in Nashville, Ashlynne! The weather can definitely fluctuate a bit here as I've lived in the area for most of my life, but it looks like you brought enough options. What were your favorite restaurants that you went to during your stay? :)
It’s easier to pack like this if there’s easy access to the washer and dryer. We’re a family of 4 and did 5 days in Las Vegas. We took two large luggage bc we had to have clothes for each day since there was no washer and dryer and we also packed snacks for the room to save money. Love the video for short weekend trips, but it’s hard to do this when you have small kids and no laundry in the hotel or if they do it’s like $3 per piece of clothing to be washed 🥴

I love minimalist packing also. So freeing! I just packed carry on only for 3 weeks in Mexico… including snorkel gear! I did have access to a washer. Have you tried shampoo and conditioner bars yet? I love Basin.
Hi :) that's cool inspiring :) I have been expat in Mexico, 9 months :) so I brought more but I love the concept for one month travel :) and I definitely even daily use shampoo bar :) my bathroom breaths since too :) just a soap and shampoo bar and there is even some bar that can do both of it ;) you inspire me for my next travel :) thanks from France ;)

Why bother to pack this kind of thing? You can get it locally.
Here in the UK most airlines don’t have such generous carry on sizes :( and you can only take 1 bag

Great advice. My longest carry-on only trip was 28 days! Three countries with three different climates. Access to doing laundry was a must. I love compression packing cubes, especially for those bulkier items like sweaters. Just curious about your liquids. You've packed them deep into your suitcase and free floating in your purse. Are you assuming you'll have TSA pre-check?
I haven’t been asked to take my liquids bag out when traveling in the past 7 or 8 years. Back in the day, I used to put them in my carry-on, but since I never got asked to take them out, I’ve just started putting them wherever they fit best.
@@AshlynneEaton I tried twice not taking out my liquids bag, and once in the TSA pre-check. All three times I was asked to take them out and place in the grey bin. So they are usually in my personal item and ready to get pulled out going thru security.

Very interesting I sort of pack the same way. The only thing I do different, is I want my backpack to be secure from thieves. Traveling seems to bring out the pickpocket type people, and I don’t want that to happen, so I’ve chosen a backpack that only opens, when I take it off my back, and open it up from the inside of my back if you understand that? It’s too easy to open the type of backpack you have, when jostled around on an airline or bus for people to take things out of it in my opinion.

I love your packing videos but I’d freak out placing all my clothing so near the zippers in your suitcase. What if they get caught in them? I’d either line the clothes with washbags/laundry bags or something similar, or I’d tuck covered shoes or other pouches in there to protect them. Hope you had a great trip!
I'm all about protecting clothes and shoes. I've got a stack of Target bags I'll use for anything and everything 😂❤

How much does your carry on suitcase weigh with all that in it?
Idk if I missed it but do you pack a hair brush or comb? And do you use the body soap at the hotel?
So I actually don’t use either. I just use my fingers to detangle my hair most days. 🙌 And then I’ll actually use my conditioner as soap!

I went on a 3-week trip last year and I think I even took less than that. This is not critique, just me being proud of myself for needing so little.
Going to travel for 6days just packing 4 shirts 2 pants 5 underwear 4 socks and a toothbrush with travel size toothpaste. I need the rest of the room for souvenirs.. 😅
You're very lovely to watch. Though I need to ask What bag do you usually bring for travels? Have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane.

Hold up wait a minute...how did you bring a razor? Did TSA not take it from you?
You can bring a regular plastic razor. You can't bring anything with open removable blades like a metal safety razor or a straight blade. And no loose single razor blades.

The book was too thick, and I felt that the luggage became heavy. If I replaced it with the electronic version, it should be much lighter.

But that handcream and hand sanitizer should also go inside the clear bag.
In the US they let you through with a small hand cream and hand sanitizer separate from the liquids bag. And lip cream. And sometimes a tiny perfume. And eye drops. I have carried so many tinier liquids in my personal bag haha.
My boots and tennis shoes don’t fit never not even that my makeup bag and hair stuff don’t fit neither 😂 I hate it

Some of your makeup would be a liquid tho. Same for the hand sanitizer. I thought all liquid had to be in a clear quart size bag for carry on. I haven't flown much so I'm just confused. I'm going on trip in a week and a half and don't know what I'm doing.
I’ve always had a little liquids in my purse, never a problem. Also you can have hand sanitizer and it doesn’t count towards liquids…
