The Folding Lady has a couple of helpful packing videos. She demonstrated using compression packing cubes vs non-compression cubes, that folding rather than rolling clothes in a compression cube will give you a flat finish cube and can potentially free up more space in your luggage than what you'll get by rolling them because rolling your clothes in compression cubes creates a bulkier packing cube. So rolling works better with regular cubes instead of compression cubes. If space isn't as much of a concern, the advantage to rolling is that you can easily see your clothes as you simply move your cube to a dresser drawer at your destination. You can see that part of her video here: ua-cam.com/video/0q2LI4fIVLw/v-deo.html
I’m with you…both whatever works for the item. I did find it interesting that you packed by day rather than item type especially if you plan to mix and match along the way. I’m leaning towards bottoms w/unders, dress/skirts w/unders, tanks and blouses w/bras, layering pieces. Miscellaneous bag with socks scarf pjs…I’m allowing myself to buy any just incase item - maybe a trench or bootie if weather is more foul. Since my trip is 6 weeks, I’ll only know the weather for the first week or 2 and I will be moving around alot. (France). Thoughts- advice? Its my first time in Europe leaving mid September.
i mostly roll, but sometimes fold an item on top of my top-opening packing cubes. which reminds me: any plans to create this style? for me, they are the most effective. the wrapping method is completely nutty. you have to unwrap the whole thing to get to anything. 😅
I’m only using a 36L backpack (usually counts as a personal item) for all trips now: one big packing cube for all outer clothes, one small packing cube for undies, socks, sports and swimming suits, and a shoe bag for 1-2 pairs of shoes. Plus a toiletry bag, an electrics bag, and a laptop bag. Raincoat in outer poach of the backpack, water bottle (and sometimes umbrella) in the side poaches. I’m packing lighter than my husband 🎉
I pack in a similar way. I am ashamed to admit that I feel smug when I’m travelling and see people struggling with large rolling bags on trains, cobblestone street, small elevators, stairs, etc. 😊
Am of the age that my school bag was a rectangle leather bag with a side pocket, we have a weight limit of 7kgs with the cheapest ticket, next price level can have a personal item. Flying to Europe can be 2 days, but prefer to do it as quickly as possible.
I went to London last year with lots of elegance for 7 days. I started “packing” well in advance. By the time I put it in my carryon I had made all of the substitutions and deletions I would typically have done the day before. It was my first flight since Sept 2019. My suitcase as packed was perfect. I was always comfortable and well dressed.
Thank you for these tips! I've watched HUNDREDS of these videos, and as usual, your methods, like your products, are the only ones that make sense for me! Please have this series wrapped up by October, because I'm leaving for a 25-day cruise in November! I need ALL of your wisdom! 😂❤
Genius! Part 1 of this series gave me the perfect tools to fit my whacky, panicky, compulsive packing style into useful guidelines! I've been struggling for years to not over pack! Just came back in May from 4 weeks in the UK and was able to only take two 21" spinners (one in the cabin, one checked) plus my personal item and felt so proud! And still had items I didn't wear or need. But your 3 Day Method just leveled me up :) Thanks for some awesome tools that will help wean me from mega over-packing! (And I fold and roll ;)
Hello Fin, I have some Tripped products and other brands as well of packing cubes, about to order a full set from Tripped because they are stronger and weigh less. However there is one thing that would be really helpful, as a product and as a video. Please make those small, long tubes that can be purchased separately OR a set that is made to fit in carryon suitcases on the side of the suitcase with the retractable handles, to fit in those valleys of space. Just setting packing cubes on top wastes space and the Tripped cube/sleeve that I have fits very well, but there's only one, have to buy a complete set. I'm buying a graphic set, but I would have preferred to get a set that is simply all different (solid? print?) colors, just so I can locate what I packed in each cube, rather than all of them matching. The graphic set will do this. Thanks for the videos, and the products!
I have to confess, I am skeptical about the everyday. On a longer trip there are a lot of everydays…i think i need more clothes than just one everyday outfit. I agree with the travel day and the essential day philosophy…but i feel like i need 3 more tops and another bottoms or another dress for the everyday. Have to be careful they are light materials to fit them all in. So I guess I am using a combination of this 3 day method and the old fashioned 5 tops 2 pants 2 dresses ! I’ll just pretend I change a lot on my everyday. 😂😂😂 I will test the method on my next trip..until then the jury is out ! But i still love it. Keep these videos coming !! Think i need some of those pretty packing cubes now…
For a substantial trip 3 shirts x 2 bottoms, if they all match each other, make 6 outfits, (so take more/less as needed) and I also count on items picked up along the way as I like to pick up cute clothing & souvenir shirts anyways. Counting outfits for the flights there & back as everyday, doesn't add much at all.
I love the tripped compression cubes & I have given them as gifts (6 to date) to my traveling friends & family. I like that it is lightweight, durable & versatile. Travel tips by Laurie introduced me to Tripped. I recommend them to all my friends. I use them for the purpose of having enough room for shopping while on vacation. Thank you!
I haven't heard of this method before but saw Genx Gypsy use it in one of her videos recently cited your video as inspiration, so I had to come check it out. I am curious to try it on my next trip. I have a work trip in a couple of weeks and then Christmas Markets in Germany in December so it sounds like the perfect time to try it out!
I’ve used packing cubes for decades, but have yet to try your compressed cubes. They seem very well thought out. A couple of things I’ve learned over the years. When you have bulky items like jackets, lay flat and zipped up on your bed, fold both sleeves over the chest, then fold the shoulders to the bottom of the jacket. If you need to make it smaller you can fold side seam to side seam. The more flat it is the better. I also place purse straps inside of the bag. I use disposable shower caps for shoes. I noticed you don’t take advantage of the all the spaces between the telescoping handles. I would put the little black purse there. I I also am a roll and fold girl. 😊
First time traveling to Europe. I’m gonna try your message and see how it works!!! I am the queen of overpacking always have the biggest suitcase with the most in it and never used all. I hope you do a toiletry video as that’s another thing I tend to overpack.
I like your method . Works very well. But something I want to share with you. I traveled a lot overseas with my parents for my dad’s work. Something I miss is the ease of travel of years ago. Did you know that travelers had sky porters that helped with luggage and would take them to the ticket counter for you. Then when the bags arrived, again there was assistance to place bags into a taxi. At that time bags did not roll. Also people would take more than one suitcase. So for me traveling has become so much harder and rougher. Those were the luxury days of travel.
I purchased one of the tripped compression sets and a cheaper set of a different brand. Though I really loved the quality and color (National parks) of the tripped cubes, I did not like that they did not zip fully open , with the “top” that can flap back and all items are easily accessible. The cheaper version did this, so I kept that one and returned tripped. I would have happily kept the tripped set except for that one feature. Please consider adding this feature and I will be a forever loyal customer!
I use the sleeve for my hair brushes and straightener. The handle allows me to hang it on something in the bathroom. I always pack a raincoat and found I can fit it between the two halves after they are packed, then if I need it at my destination I need only to unzip a little and it pulls right out. Great video, thank you!
I already packed similarly with regular packing cube, but will be purchasing a set of your compression cubes! The only thing that is a MUST for me is to pack dirty shoes in bags (usually just reuse plastic shopping bags), and pack slippers if I don’t already have a pair of flipflops. I never wear shoes in my house (first gen Asian American here), so kinda grossed out by throwing uncovered shoes into my suitcase. Also, I pack a laundry bag (did I miss that in the video?). Love the tips and checking out your other videos! Thanks!
Loved your 2 Packing videos and I'm looking forward to the next one on Packing your Personal Item. My 12 day Alaska Cruise now has a 1 week California cruise added on so I'm going to be packing for 2 completely different climates! (your Iceland packing video and your Greece video are super helpful!. I just need to combine the 2. I think footwear is going to be the biggest challenge.)
I stayed with my brother to help care for his family after his kidney living donor transplant, I used your system to figure out how much clothes I would need for the ten days I would be with them. It actually worked great. I found that I had something for everyday and occasional outfit change. I just ordered a Cor Surf 28L travel backpack bundle and I am going to try your packing system out.
I fold and roll, use regular and compression cubes. My most difficult items to pack are my size 38DD bras and swimsuit. I usually pack a 25” rolling duffle and have gone for up to. 4 weeks including the mountains of Peru and Galapagos in the same trip. 1 cube for cold, 1 for warm. I really like your compression cubes but wish they open more for easier packing.
Separating out cold/warm clothes in compression cubes is a great way to stay organized! If you're looking for compression cubes that open up fully, check out our Weekender cubes! amzn.to/436rqc9
I agree about the bras. I don't think I've ever seen a packing video with underwire larger bras (I'm a similar size). I usually stack mine and put them on one side of the case between the inside handle rails, but they take up a lot of room. I haven't tried them in a compression cube yet. Worried about the wires getting bent out of shape.
It's interesting to know that even with these cubes there are '"two minds" about their construction.. I feel like if they opened all the way, you wouldn't be able to really shove that first piece in. LOL! you know what I mean. Usually when I use something that opens all the way, things fall out before I get it fully packed. But I'm a huge klutz so maybe that's it.
Curious if you've ever been challenged by an airline on the bigger carry-on suitcase. Your dimensions in part 1 showed it to be 15 or so by 22. I've been working on keeping it the smaller 22x14x9 most US airlines post as their allowed carry on size. I bought packing cubes and they were ok but I like that your actually compress. Great method of creating outfits for your trip!
Compression cubes are definitely a game changer when it comes to airline restrictions! The carry-ons we packed in in this video have never caused us issues with US airlines.
I really wish I had found your method a little earlier- just did my first international vacation for 14 days. While I managed COO, I could have taken even less with your method probably (still didn't use everything as I thought I would). Also, thank you for admitting rolling AND folding is the best. It's all about what gets it in the cube.
I'm fairly adept at carryon only travel, even internationally, even for 2-3 weeks in different climates (excluding true winter). I definitely love the perspective from your last video! I traveled to the UK last month and used that to start off all of our suitcases (our college kids too). Thanks!
Great question!! I don’t have trouble fitting my luggage in, my problem is the weight. I too like nice clothes, jewelry and shoes to match. And i don’t want to wash clothes every day…. I would love your advice on this 😊
Very interesting, and some good ideas. However, is it over the 7kg limit imposed by many international airlines? And what about that toiletries bag? That won’t pass screening for carry on. But I love your compression bags, and plan to order a set.
I love your compression bags. I started out folding then went to packing cubes but compression is the way to go for sure. I pack my flat iron in a silicone pouch, protects in case I have to pack it warm. The bag I tend to pack my underwear. Great video
Raw dogging meant something different in my day lol also back in the day we didn’t have digital electronics so I guess it now means travel like it’s 1999. 🎉
Please Please....I'm leaving in a week for a 3 week cruise (Alaska + California) and I've followed your "3 Day Packing Method" AND your "The Right Way to Pack a Suitcase", now I Desperately need your guidance for your "Personal Item" Packing!!
Another fab video, thank you! I'm trying to move from chronic over-packer to carry-on only so I'm binging on your videos. I'm trying to find the biggest carryon for European airlines (I'm an Amerian living in Ireland and do a lot of hops to the continent). What has the biggest capacity in your opinion?
I love your videos as they are helpful. However, the latest international trips the airlines had a weight restriction. How do you work around that? I don’t usually check in a bag but now I have to place items in my personal bag or don’t use packing cubes.
Would love to see the video for the personal packing item to include your laptop and also recording gear for your travel vlogs! Also..and sorry if we've missed this - selfishly we would love a video on what to pack for a long trip (4 months). We are off to Asia again soon and this time we really don't want to overpack!
I would have categorised based on the type of clothing as opposed to the days, but I think days make sense because then you already have the outfits planned and won't need to open 4 different bags to put together an ensemble.. definitely keeping in mind for my next trip! love your personality and looking forward to part 3! (one thing I would do differently though is definitely to put the shoes in a shoe bag!xD)
@@ladynole35 typically I would put all my bottoms/tops/underwear in separate compression packs which helps when I want to see all my options but also means unzipping all the packs
I have purchased both your packing cubes and your toiletries kit. Not a fan of your toiletries kit, as I prefer a kit that will stand on its own. But I do like your packing cubes. I would, however, like to be able to buy either the bags individually or as a set of the same size. Also, would like to see you make some “narrow” or “slender” compression cubes. Thanks!
I take a sheet of paper and draw all my clothes for the trip. Then almost like paper dolls you can “ play” with your outfits. I always pack lots of underwear because you may not want to wash underwear. I have gotten pretty good at only taking a carryon and large purse type thing for under seat.
How do you get around TSA with your toiletries? I saw some full size and they usually ask for individual plastic baggies - especially in London (LHR) THE WORST! Would love any suggestions .. I always have to check a bag mainly due to that.
Compression cubes are great, regardless of luggage size. But... if you travel domestic with a carry on within a country like Australia then the max weight is only 7 kg.
And all these clothes plus a typical suitcase of about 2 to 3kg is going to weigh a lot more than that! They do have better carry on backpacks these days which are lighter weight than suitcases but less able to shove zips closed etc
For those of us who are big busted and MUST wear structured bras, they are very hard to pack, some of them can’t be squished (especially T shirt bras). Do you have a video addressing this difficulty?
I'm going to attempt to pack AGAIN for a 3 week trip in a carry on with all my stuff and my toddlers (2T)... Last year it was a 4 week trip... And managed to fit all her stuff and mine... Wish us luck. 😂
I have 2 sets of your packing cubes- one for my husband and one for myself. I also bought additional cubes for each of us. Like you, I use both the rolling and folding method depending on the items. I tend to pack my cubes by item type- shirts, shorts/trousers, loungewear, undergarments, etc. I do sometimes lay jeans or other bulky items flat on the bottom of our carryons. I love your hanging garment rack. Could you link it? Thanks!! 😊😊
I can’t travel without my cubes! ❤️❤️❤️ However, my husband struggles because he packs nothing 🤣🤣, so he never knows what I’ve packed in his cubes-even though I do tell him. I have used a label maker to label a couple of his, but I do wish there was some reusable, interchangeable labels to use with them…maybe an idea?? Or he could do his own packing -LOL! Thanks for the link to the garment rack. I’ve been considering one, now it’s in my Amazon cart!
I am an excellent packer. I went to Europe for the first time over a decade ago and it was a two week trip. No one could believe that I used a carry on & personal bag. I roll & fold depending on the item & always use compression cubes. I've watched so many travel & packing videos and have to say, I am so intrigued by your method of deciding days instead of standing in front of the closet or trying to pick items that will go with other pieces. I will be trying this for our next trip. We normally travel for 10/11 days including travel day. Wondering if my brain can work out the type days you came up with?
Would love to see an European 8 week summer trip, in a 20.5x13.8x9inch carry on. Carry on only and a tiny personal item. With weight limit of 7Kg total. I’d love to know if it’s possible. Limited technology, no makeup etc…no hikes. Holiday only.
Can you mention what cooler personal item you used? This is such a great idea and my husband and I are going to Canada next month so there will be a lot of car time. We like to make sandwiches but for all day stuff, a cool would be great. I usually pack light enough that I was swap the personal. Great series I will be using this on my next trip.. I always fit within carry on but inevitably I aLeah’s come home with several unused items
I have been using compression cubes for many years. I have used carry-on only for multiple cruises and European trips. Haven’t found a better system yet!
personal size toiletry recommendations...either brands you love or those small containers to put stuff in that you would recommend. Please and thank you!!!
I purchased your compression cubes and the same toiletry bag you have on display in this video. I would love to see a demo of how to pack your toiletry bags because I'm STILL trying to figure out how best to use the set! I don't understand why there are THREE zippers for one compartment. Please explain why you designed it that way. I'm also trying to figure out how to prevent my toiletries from weighing a full 2 lbs! I keep trying to figure out how to reduce the load but I'm failing miserably! I'm preparing for a 5 week trip next month to The Netherlands and the UK and I would love to see a demo please!
Awesome! Absolutely! You might be referring to the main compartment with a zipper both on the front and the back? That compartment is convenient because when the hanging toiletry bag is fully folded up and zipped closed, you can quickly access something in that compartment using the back zipper without unrolling the entire bag. Hopefully that helps, but I’ll be sure to include it in the toiletry video!
@@TrippedTravelGear Thank you very much for responding! That's awesome and I'm looking forward to your video! That is the compartment I referred to, but I mistakenly described 3 zippers. The zipper below the one for the large compartment is for two small compartments. Still, I would love a tutorial that includes suggestions for what to put in each compartment. For instance, to your point, I can't imagine what I would put in the large compartment that I would need to access without unrolling the entire bag, but I'm sure you had something in mind when you designed the bag. As a solo female traveler, I like to travel as light as possible so I can easily use public transportation and get up and down stairs. I lived out of a backpack traveling around Europe for 2 1/2 months in 1971 when I was 20, so been there done that! 🤣My challenge for my next 5-week trip is how to keep the weight of my 7 lb TravelPro Crew Classic Carry-On Spinner and my 15" Lovevook personal item backpack as low as possible! BTW I found your small compression cube is perfect for packing a change of clothes and it easily fits at the bottom of my personal item backpack with room left over for everything else I need on the long haul flight! Thank you!
Nice! What is the size of you 2 bags...and...how do you feel about the bags that just have the 1 deep side versus those that pack on both sides? Thanks so much for these videos! Just picked up your toiletry bag and electronics bag. Great items!
Would you consider popping interchangeable labels on your compression packing cubes? i.e plane, essential day, the everyday, the. Travel day. I would not remember what is in those cubes!
I’m sure this has been mentioned, new to your channel. But do you have suitcases you recommend? You mentioned the cubes were designed for certain sizes? Thank you!! 🙏
I just bought your toiletry bag. I thought it was small when I unpacked it but I just packed up my toiletries and almost everything fits and really well too. It expands, which is great and I like the material a lot. Do you have a weekend bag that can fit 3 days of clothes that you like to use? Thank you :))
Great video idea! Both are great quality and have very similar products. I would focus on the features you’re looking for (like the monos pro feature) but all in all they’re not that different
I have the monos suitcase. One issue I have with it is that when I pack a lot of stuff in it, the handle won’t fully extend once it’s all zipped up. Wondering if anyone else with this suitcase has the same problem.
This is great for squeezing more stuff in a small space, but how about the problem of creased clothes please? The laying method so far produces the least amount of wrinkles, at least for me. 🙂
I use packing cubes, but not the compression packing cubes. Doesn't that wrinkle your clothes terribly? I take a lot of cruises where there are often no irons/ironing boards available and steamers are not allowed. I'm taking an overseas trip in a couple of weeks and I've put the clothes I want to take in my packing closet. I limit myself on to the weight allowed in the suitcase because one of my favorite things to do on vacation is get really dressed up every night. I think you might be more low maintenance than me. I am taking away some great tips, though. Thanks!
We have noticed that compression cubes don't cause any more wrinkles than having them out freely in a suitcase! The compression helps clothing stay nicely folded. We feel you, though. Getting dressed up is half the fun!
Here goes a challenging one for you to tackle. We are travelling in January to Dubai/ Singapore/Indonesia & Japan. Family of 5. Ideally just a carry- on each. But there are so many boxes to check! ( mosque appropriate attire/ camel riding/ beach resort/ winter). Any advice beyond packing cubes?
A large scarf or pashmina is a great way to cover these bases while staying light. Use it to cover shoulders/head, used as a sun cover, and used as a light towel for the beach and flight.
Do you know of any waterproof suitcase covers? My suitcase must have been on top of all the luggage going from first to second leg of our trip, because it rained like crazy, and my clothes near the zippers in my suitcase were SOAKED. 😢
Did you downsize the packing guide? I’ve been watching some of the other packing videos and it seemed like they had more details to theirs. Just curious if there’s a way to get that guide or if it’s just the three page one?
We've just revamped our system to become the 3-Day Packing Method! We felt like the "Everyday" was an important step to add. Full new download to come!
We are going on a trip and 1/2 way through the week we will be going to another location by float plane (can't wait) we are only allowed 12lbs each total on Harbour Air including a purse. That will be a challange for sure. we also have a dinner in a high end restaurant included. My 30+ year travel packing experience will be put to the test.
My MIL loves to travel but has early Parkinson’s. We had to change her packing to each day of clothing has a packing cube that is labeled for the day of the week. Otherwise she can’t remember where anything is…..
I layer, I learnt it of an air 👩✈️ stewardess….. yes just lay items it works…less folds..so you get more in and no creases…maybe better for a hotel or cruise..not back packing
@@TrippedTravelGear I have been using them for years (have 3 different sets) and they are all perfect!! We have the backpack too. 2 toiletry kits - black for hubby and pink for me!
After watching the video, I felt really excited and eager to give this method a try. However, when it came down to it, I spent quite a bit of time picking my items, and they just didn’t fit as I had hoped. By that point, I was pretty tired and frustrated, which made it even harder to decide what to leave behind. In the end, I ended up overpacking, and it really affected my trip negatively. I think this method might work well for frequent travelers who know exactly how much they can fit in a carry-on, but it’s definitely not for everyone
I say give it another try! Using a clothes rack or laying out your clothing is a great way to see all of the items you have an choose outfits from there.
I think my largest pain is packing business clothes. I leach time I travel for work it’s travel day clothes and then dress pants, tops, or suits. Suits are the worst. I haven’t found a way to pack them that makes it simple but also avoids wrinkling when it comes to compression cubes.
That is tough! Although, my dad did once pack an entire suit in an XL compression cube all the way to Peru. A quick iron or hanging them up in a bathroom with a steamy shower running will do the trick!
I’d like to know why you decided to make your cubes only open 3/4 ways, instead of all 3 sides (clamshell style)? I find them frustrating to use and pull one item out of when just opening up the entire cube is so much easier. I mean, we don’t open suitcases that way, why packing cubes? I find your capsule wardrobe choosing method interesting, and will see if that works for me on my next trip. Busy taking notes.
ROLL vs FOLD 👇 What's the best way?
The Folding Lady has a couple of helpful packing videos. She demonstrated using compression packing cubes vs non-compression cubes, that folding rather than rolling clothes in a compression cube will give you a flat finish cube and can potentially free up more space in your luggage than what you'll get by rolling them because rolling your clothes in compression cubes creates a bulkier packing cube. So rolling works better with regular cubes instead of compression cubes. If space isn't as much of a concern, the advantage to rolling is that you can easily see your clothes as you simply move your cube to a dresser drawer at your destination. Like you, I use both. Depends on the type of clothing.
Your empty purse could become a packing cube which would help maintain its shape.
I would love to see a winter pack. It’s so much easier to pack for warm conditions.
So true, packing bulkier clothes can be tricky. Great video idea!
Same with me.
EPIC!
I pack in a similar way. I am ashamed to admit that I feel smug when I’m travelling and see people struggling with large rolling bags on trains, cobblestone street, small elevators, stairs, etc. 😊

LOVE that idea! Just packed for a trip this morning and put my curling iron and hairbrush in there but agreed, would be better used with clothes!
I agree! I have purchased just a regular packing cube (tube!) set for my suitcase, but would switch over if a set of compression tubes was offered.

Love this video, and your first one, so much! Thanks for taking the time to do this
So glad you've found this method to be helpful!
Y’all have become my favorite travel channel in only like 3 videos. ❤

I’m in the gray area too. Sometimes I roll, sometimes I fold. Love these videos!
Totally depends on the item!
Thank you!
🫶 We LOVE Laurie! Love the idea of gifting compression cubes. It's like a promise to travel!
Would love to see a toiletry packing video!
Coming up!
THANK YOU for saying the “light bulb went on“! So many people say the light bulb went “off”; one of those tiny (unimportant😊) things that bugs me!
💡😆
I haven't heard of this method before but saw Genx Gypsy use it in one of her videos recently cited your video as inspiration, so I had to come check it out. I am curious to try it on my next trip. I have a work trip in a couple of weeks and then Christmas Markets in Germany in December so it sounds like the perfect time to try it out!
Awesome! Glad you came to check us out!
Compression cubes help you to use every inch of space! Great tips!
Best how to pack video ever!
First time traveling to Europe. I’m gonna try your message and see how it works!!! I am the queen of overpacking always have the biggest suitcase with the most in it and never used all. I hope you do a toiletry video as that’s another thing I tend to overpack.
Let us know how it goes!
Thankfully it's more common to have wheeled luggage now!
I loved those days! Give them a tip and you're free!!!
I’m the same. Much prefer the cubes to open clamshell style, so you can see everything inside.
agreed.
If you're interested in Tripped cubes that fully open, check out our Weekender cubes: amzn.to/436rqc9
I third the motion! 😊
@@TrippedTravelGear hey, that's cool. i didn't know you made this style. thanks for sending the link.
Thanks!
Luckily for you, our 7-Piece set comes with a shoe cube AND a laundry bag!
You are entertaining, personable and good at packing! Thanks!
Thanks so much for the compliments! Glad you enjoyed!
Great! So glad the videos have been helpful for your packing!
🫶🫶🫶
Looking forward to part 3! Good series!
Carry-on only for your first international vacation is very impressive! Next trip prep will go even smoother with the 3 day method!
I'm fairly adept at carryon only travel, even internationally, even for 2-3 weeks in different climates (excluding true winter). I definitely love the perspective from your last video! I traveled to the UK last month and used that to start off all of our suitcases (our college kids too). Thanks!
Awesome to hear!!
Nice, thanks so much. How much does this packed carry on weigh? Limit is usually 7kg.
Great question!! I don’t have trouble fitting my luggage in, my problem is the weight. I too like nice clothes, jewelry and shoes to match. And i don’t want to wash clothes every day…. I would love your advice on this 😊
This was 22lbs but items could certainly be moved to the personal item if need be.
Very interesting, and some good ideas. However, is it over the 7kg limit imposed by many international airlines? And what about that toiletries bag? That won’t pass screening for carry on. But I love your compression bags, and plan to order a set.
Our 3-1-1 toiletry set is designed to meet TSA restrictions!
I love your compression bags. I started out folding then went to packing cubes but compression is the way to go for sure. I pack my flat iron in a silicone pouch, protects in case I have to pack it warm. The bag I tend to pack my underwear. Great video
Compression cubes for the win!
Love your spirit!
Again- wonderful tips !
A small see-through tab on the front would be nice. You could insert a post-it note with a label of what day or group of items is in the cube.
Our Weekender Cubes include a slot for labels as well as premade labels! I'll link them here: amzn.to/3zuqNMf
Thanks for sharing. I fold and roll but always use cubes (regular and compression).
I kind of pack by outfits, too! Excluding the bag and belt. Love your “what if’s “ bag! Thanks
Satisfying your "what ifs" is a great way to feel prepared!
Thanks for part 2! Love the video. Great follow up to part 1. I’m going to see how this works for me this week on a trip.
How did it go??
@@TrippedTravelGear It went well! I packed less and the items I decided to bring all got used. Thanks for the great videos.
Raw dogging meant something different in my day lol also back in the day we didn’t have digital electronics so I guess it now means travel like it’s 1999. 🎉
😂😂
I love the video, but when did raw dogging start to be used this way. I was so confused.
😆 It's a new trend!
Sold! Now my suitcase will be efficient and cute. 😊
Having a cute suitcase is all part of it 😉
Love this! Part 3??
BRB!
Thank you, this series is amazing! Can't wait for the next video!

Please Please....I'm leaving in a week for a 3 week cruise (Alaska + California) and I've followed your "3 Day Packing Method" AND your "The Right Way to Pack a Suitcase", now I Desperately need your guidance for your "Personal Item" Packing!!

@@TrippedTravelGear please please today lol I am packing for Japan…..
I love this! We’re going to Europe soon, and watching this is part of the excitement!
😆😆 have an awesome trip!!
We love our Away suitcases!
I love your videos as they are helpful. However, the latest international trips the airlines had a weight restriction. How do you work around that? I don’t usually check in a bag but now I have to place items in my personal bag or don’t use packing cubes.
That's a really great question!
This was thankfully 22lbs so fit in our airline's restrictions
Would love to see the video for the personal packing item to include your laptop and also recording gear for your travel vlogs! Also..and sorry if we've missed this - selfishly we would love a video on what to pack for a long trip (4 months). We are off to Asia again soon and this time we really don't want to overpack!
Thanks for the ideas! Yes to all!!
@itstingtraveltime can you explain what you mean by type of clothing instead of the days?
@@ladynole35 typically I would put all my bottoms/tops/underwear in separate compression packs which helps when I want to see all my options but also means unzipping all the packs
I have purchased both your packing cubes and your toiletries kit. Not a fan of your toiletries kit, as I prefer a kit that will stand on its own. But I do like your packing cubes. I would, however, like to be able to buy either the bags individually or as a set of the same size. Also, would like to see you make some “narrow” or “slender” compression cubes. Thanks!
Great feedback thank you! If you like the freestanding dopp kit, you might like our Travel Pouch to be used as a toiletry bag a.co/d/guMRV5T
They're all under 3 oz!
You've got this!!
What do I pack when I go on vacation for 3 weeks? What about a video on your seat baggie.
This method can be applied for any length of trip! Video coming up on a personal item!
Thanks!! 😊😊
Hope you're loving your cubes! Here's a link to the rack on Amazon: amzn.to/3LD5Ww1
Weight should take priority over “what fits”. You will have to lug this weight around.
Only 22lbs! Not too bad, especially on wheels
Let us know how it goes! We're always here to help!
Something like this would be great! I love that it carries like a backpack: amzn.to/3yXIsPt
I have been using compression cubes for many years. I have used carry-on only for multiple cruises and European trips. Haven’t found a better system yet!
Compression cubes are game changing!
personal size toiletry recommendations...either brands you love or those small containers to put stuff in that you would recommend. Please and thank you!!!
We, of course, love our Tripped Toiletry Set! amzn.to/3U6gbws
Love these practical ideas. WH is the brand of this suitcase Thank you pat
We love our Away Bigger Carry-on!
Thank you!
Love this video and the cubes. Why don’t you put your shoes in a bag or cover them with disposable shower caps to keep the dirt contained?
Good idea!
Nice! What is the size of you 2 bags...and...how do you feel about the bags that just have the 1 deep side versus those that pack on both sides? Thanks so much for these videos! Just picked up your toiletry bag and electronics bag. Great items!
I prefer suitcases that are packable on both sides. Thanks so much for the support!
Would you consider popping interchangeable labels on your compression packing cubes? i.e plane, essential day, the everyday, the. Travel day. I would not remember what is in those cubes!
If I'm having trouble remembering what is in each cube, I'll pack in our mesh cubes! I'll like them here: amzn.to/3Uc2SL6
I’m sure this has been mentioned, new to your channel. But do you have suitcases you recommend? You mentioned the cubes were designed for certain sizes? Thank you!! 🙏
We love the Away Bigger Carry-On, Monos Carry-On Pro, and the Open Story Signature Hardside!
I just bought your toiletry bag. I thought it was small when I unpacked it but I just packed up my toiletries and almost everything fits and really well too. It expands, which is great and I like the material a lot. Do you have a weekend bag that can fit 3 days of clothes that you like to use? Thank you :))
Love to see it! Small but mighty 💪. We've heard good things about the Beis weekender, but have not loved any that we've tried.
I would be interested in a review of your Away vs Monos suitcases. I have been debating between the two.
This anti wrinkle spray has also been a life saver: amzn.to/3yMIzxw
I put my hair brush, comb & curling iron, Toothbrush (covered), toothpaste and mouth washAND a plug in travel night light go in my tube.
Perfect spot!
Do you know of any waterproof suitcase covers? My suitcase must have been on top of all the luggage going from first to second leg of our trip, because it rained like crazy, and my clothes near the zippers in my suitcase were SOAKED. 😢
Hmmm.. not any that we've tried!
Compression cubes for the win 😉
I’m thinking folding…we will see how this packing goes for our London, Iceland and Portland Oregon carry on only situation!😂😂😂
My MIL loves to travel but has early Parkinson’s. We had to change her packing to each day of clothing has a packing cube that is labeled for the day of the week. Otherwise she can’t remember where anything is…..
Great way to help your MIL stay organized 🫶
I layer, I learnt it of an air 👩✈️ stewardess….. yes just lay items it works…less folds..so you get more in and no creases…maybe better for a hotel or cruise..not back packing
Where can I buy the hanger rod that you are putting your clothes on for this?
Here's a similar one on Amazon! amzn.to/4gOblPw
Fin, what was the size of the two different suitcases you used. Was the first a checked bag (24”)?
Both are carry-on size! One just has a second zipper for a "flex" option.
Thank you!
Unless I missed it in your previous video. The packing went great but how did you know you were not over weight?? (tight fit)
The final weight was 22lbs!
Rolling vs. folding? I do both as well - while using only Tripped packing cubes!! And tech bag and toiletries kit....
Please always let us know if anything is less than perfect!
rolling
@@TrippedTravelGear I have been using them for years (have 3 different sets) and they are all perfect!! We have the backpack too. 2 toiletry kits - black for hubby and pink for me!
I do both roll and fold depending on the item.
Wait - is there no video for the toiletries packing yet?
Not quite yet!
This week I had only 2 subs. Last year I worked right up to November
I roll and fold. It depends on the item and what packing cube it is going in.
Oh wow! It’s an informercial 😂
You clearly have great packing suggestions, but how is everything not a complete wrinkled mess after being compressed?
Rolling is a great way to prevent wrinkles! We personally haven't seen more wrinkles by using compression cubes vs not
I’d like to know why you decided to make your cubes only open 3/4 ways, instead of all 3 sides (clamshell style)?
I find them frustrating to use and pull one item out of when just opening up the entire cube is so much easier.
I mean, we don’t open suitcases that way, why packing cubes?
I find your capsule wardrobe choosing method interesting, and will see if that works for me on my next trip. Busy taking notes.
Thank you for the feedback! This design ultimately helps with the compression ability of the cubes.
@@TrippedTravelGear Thank you for answering my question!
where do you get your packing clothes rack?
Here's a great option: amzn.to/4dweccY
But how do you remember which things for which days are in which bags? It seems like it would be so much better if the bags were clear/see-through!
We actually do offer mesh cubes! I'll link them here: amzn.to/3Uc2SL6
