CV Axle Replacement Easier Alternative Method for Honda Odyssey 2005 - 2010

My 2006 Honda Odyssey was shaking and vibrating the entire vehicle when we would accelerate or push on the gas pedal especially at high speeds. The vibration was fairly severe on the highway at high speeds and had gotten worse over time to the point where now the vibration happens and a clanking noise even at very low speeds. Our mechanic told us it was the driver side CV axle. We just spent $1200 on this van doing a valve adjustment and new spark plugs so I wanted to save the money for labor and do this one myself. I have never changed out a CV axle but some UA-cam videos helped.
I did mine differently than many of the videos showed, and I could not find a video showing this method so I made this video: I removed the pinch bolts that hold the knuckle to the strut mount rather than removing the bolt holding the tie rod end, etc. I then used a small floor jack and zip ties to hold the assembly in place while I was able to get enough room to replace the CV axle.

I got this idea from a comment in a UA-cam video from a guy who said he was a Honda mechanic for years and he said this is how they did it and it was easier.

It still took me several hours especially since it was my first time and I was making this video but it was very doable. I am fairly mechanically inclined and I do my own breaks/oil changes, etc. So you could do this too. I got my Axle on Amazon.com for about $60. The mechanic quoted us about $350 for parts and labor so I saved $200 - $300. Hopefully My inexpensive Amazon part will hold up over time and fix the vibration. www.amazon.com...
