Thank God I don't have to anymore! New vehicles......NEVER! I'm old school! Shade tree all the way. I don't know how much I'd even remember now! It's wonderful having a mechanic in the family. Wow, Chris
    It's a good thing that you have the tools to do that job and the patience especially when working outside in the cold and in tight spaces.
    Now you have scrape metal left over for some cash👍 Also, don't forget to torque to whatever nuts need to be properly torque.
    A job well done!!!👍👍👍

      After I paid mechanic to change O2 sensor, I found out the tool I needed was cheaper than he was. Dang, I could have bought tool, fixed it, and saved about 30 -35 bucks, after tool cost. It was a ten minute job at that! Next time, I know what to do. Live & learn.

    Did a great job! You might still need an alignment. If the two lower bolts for the strut holes were oval or had play in them I’d say yes. I’d see what the alignment is after the passenger side is done if the steering wheel is off just a bit will chew your tire up as You know. A front alignment isn’t expensive if they only need to align the front tires. Just my one cent! Super job brother!

      I was doing the same thing, Chris. I was cursing for you at times. Lol. I'm 62 but when I was a kid I used to help my stepdad work on his cars. He taught me a lot. So much so that when my water pump went out on my 67 or 68(memories not so good anymore) Chevy caprice, I changed it by myself. I was about 22 years old. I had to have it done so I could go to work that night. It rained all day, so I took a couple of shower curtains and draped them from all across the hood to the bumper and on each side downwards, made me a covered area to work and not get wet. I climbed in the engine compartment with my tools and had it done in time to go to work that night. Back then you had a big engine compartment so there was plenty of room to move around. Even tho i was a girl, i loved working on cars and helping my step dad.
      Oh and I love watching all ya'lls videos. Love Melonies(sp)channel, also. She has a beautiful voice!!! And lil lion makes this old women smile every time he does. He's just so gosh darn cute. He's gonna be a very personable young man when he grows up and have all the girls chasing after him. Love you and Hollies love story, ya'll are just so cute together. Ya'll bring a smile to this old women's face every time I watch ya'lls videos, no matter the content. Ya'll are such hard working people that i know that ya'll will get that house ya'll want very soon. God bless ya'lls little family

      T Berry , when I was 18, I had a 67 mustang, constantly leaving me on side of road, in an era of no cell phones, U hoof it to a payphone and pray someone answered when u called. It was selinoid switch, an 8 buck part then. Dad showed me how to change them. Kept one in trunk, for just in case and had to change one day on side of road, by myself. Got home finally. Knowledge is power. The day the transmission line broke, police man saw me pushing it out of road, he stopped after I could have used some manpower. Looked at me and said, get in Sally, I'll take you home. The look on my mom's face was priceless, when she saw me get out of the squad car. Didn't Dawn on her, I was riding in the front, not back!!!! Ah, the memories!!!!! I learned how to mechanic on that car. Dang, I miss her now. Newer cars, ugh.

      Several areas are putting a new idea in place .it is a large garage with hoists and tools.you do your own repairs and it is monitored by someone so tools stay there. It makes it easier to raise your car to do these types of repairs and they only charge a small fee to be inside warm and safe

      @theChrisAndHoLLieShow  6 років тому

      Sheryl Bullard, that sounds nice but i would be afraid of something going wrong (which seems to a lot with me lol) but if you break something on the car there and end up not being able to get the part you need that day. Then you might be stuck paying for the garage longer than planned. I have had stuff break on me and had to order the part, then get the part and its the wrong part.
      There has also been times that the job was such a pain that i had to walk away from it for a couple days and come back fresh so that i wouldnt beat it with a sledge hammer Lol

    How long does that job usually take? How much should it cost if I get a mechanic to do it? I have the same car that has the same problem but a little hesitant to do it myself. My only free days are Sundays and I'm afraid I won't get it done in 1 day. If I bring it to a mechanic, I want to know what's a good price too get it done so I won't get ripped off. 👍

    Make sure your seal spring in there didn’t come loose .. thought I saw something shiny ..
    Since you took the strut loose, you’ll need a wheel alignment...

      I will just say i was brought up around a lot of hard workers, so i had a lot of good examples to follow.
      My Dad was a Hard worker, my step dad (my other dad) was Carpenter/Mechanic/Handyman, Hard working Uncles that are carpenters, My Grandfather was a Carpenter/Handyman. Haha i just picked it up. When i was a kid i was building tree houses and clubs that you wouldnt even believe a kid built Lol

      serrot spikester i am very grateful for having good men to grow up around.
      My Uncle and My Grandfather both started out with a few acres of land and a mobile homes, and over years they turn those mobile homes into huge houses by building on to them. You would hardly even notice that there is a trailer in the middle of those houses.
