Here is a short 18 minute Seated Tai Chi follow-along session for home practice. Just follow me, and your body and the Qi will know what to do!

    Other martial arts teach us how to hurt each other. Tai Chi teaches us how to heal each other. Other martial arts speak of aggression; Tai Chi speaks of compassion. Other martial arts are rooted in violence; Tai Chi is rooted benevolence. Other martial arts focus on human conflict and combat. But in Tai Chi we fight disease and pain, and we combat depression, aging and death.

    This is your best video ever. I like the clear movements, their subtitles and accompanying music. No speaking, that's fresh.

      @@DavidDorianRoss My Tai Chi teacher gave me two DVDs: There's too much stopping and talking on them. Just show me! Your style in this video is the absolute best imho. I watch it and follow along at least once every day. Thank you.

    i can't help but want to follow david's movements. they are hypnotic and beautiful. I am practicing the seated tai chi to volunteer with the residents at local care facility. they could watch on the big screen but enjoy a live person to make that connection. so far so good for me and them :) thanks for sharing!

    I suffered a mild stroke 6 yaers ago. Over the last year I have slowed noticably and struggled with balance issues. Istrated with Seated Tai Chi and felt significantly better than I had in months. I tries working with some of your other videos and was glad that I did! My balance has come back so I can stahd and do the movements. Keep the videos coing and suggest what you consider to be most beneficial for my situation. Thank yo for doing this great service for people who can certainly benefit from movement especially since we have been isolated fro so long!

    I have been using your DVD's and on-line videos for months now and really love them. This morning, I had a minor episode of vertigo that didn't last long, but felt a little unsure of how comfortable I would be doing my usual practice. So, I used this video and was amazed. Wonderful sense of grace and movement. In fact, I noticed so much more detail in the arm/hand movement that I will use this one as a tutorial for my regular practice. Thank you for all you do.,

    You are such a wonderful teacher. I started studying Tai Chi in March with Tai Chi AM/PM, and continued with a few more of your programs. Following this video tonight was the first time I could really feel the energy in my palms, actually tingling as I passed it back and forth!
    I especially liked the part in this video where you hide your hand so I'm forced to watch just one hand at time. I feel like that one thing helped me understand so much about gaze and sightline and how to 'not think' while I'm learning and practicing.
    Thank you for everything!

    I LOVE this. although i do struggle to make the switch when the camera changes angles i get really confused which arm i'm on and which arm is doing what: Update. So i've been doing this video almost every night for a month now 1) this is the longest i've ever stuck at anything and it doesn't feel like a chore i have to get through each evening unlike every other routine i've ever tried - this is so relaxing. 2) I've been suffering from costochondritis and slipping rib for over a year on top of having an already very weak upper back and poor posture. I've been in pain 24/7 for over a year. When i started i couldn't even make it half way through the video before my back started to ache from sitting up straight. Tonight I made it the entire way through and it only started to ache when 'closing the door'. I never thought i would enjoy or do tai chi - i thought it was just a lot of waving your arms around slowly and didn't see the point or value in it (i'm just being honest here) - i certainly never thought it would make me stronger and feel better in mind and body. THANK YOU for this video and for proving me wrong!

    I like this. The only downside is that his hand continues to disappear behind a tree so you cant see what that hand is doing anytime he moves it up

    • @lociecompton5895
      @lociecompton5895 4 місяці тому

      Look at the entire video. Several times the camera changes angles so we can see what was previously hidden by the tree.
      Several times despite being partially hidden it's possible to determine his hand position. The upper hand is sometimes shown in a position as it comes from behind the tree that is obtained by simply rotating the hand gently.
      I hope this helps you decipher the hand movements.

      I agree. His videos of many years ago had softer, a bit more ethereal, Asian or New Age type music. Many of the newer ones...just irritating. Like going into a Chinese restaurant and hearing hip hop in the background. Do like the moves in this one, but I had to turn off the volume.
