The alternating of RGS and Humic12 is fantastic! I started doing this micro dosing sequence a couple weeks back and my lawn, which had a few hot spots of heat stress along the sidewalks has shifted to a nice green...QUICKLY
Nice work, brother! Spray and pray! Did a lot of that this past weekend. Have a great summer!
Looks like your being dominated by your neighbor on the left Bro! (Not Al's old house.)
Chuck Hardesty you beat me to it.
Your neighbor's landscape looks amazing!
Awesome video Jake, thank you for sharing 😁😁
Ok maybe that explains it? I’ll have to try another application of the double dark combo (micro Greene & Green Effect). My lawn was darker before application (albeit I’d thrown down Milorganite on June 9th). 7 days later after the N-Ext application on July 5th it’s a lighter shade of green (on July 12). It changed from blue green to lime green.
My yard was lighter this year too. I think from the overseeding in the fall. I’ve done milo. Double dark. Ironite. Air8. And just yesterday a generic 10-10-10. Back is darkening up. Front is dark on the edges all around but the middle isn’t what it was last year. I have humic and gypsum coming next week. Hope that helps!! Nice video!!
Another great video JTLK!
Awesome Jake!
Awesome Video Jake! Your Lawn looks great and those gloves don't look too bad either :)
Just double checking... last weekend I threw down Milo, at the bag rate, and plan to spray "Double Dark" next weekend (2 weeks later). Just want to be reassured that I won't be overdosing on Nitrogen or Iron. Thanks for all you do, and I in invite you to stop by Our Missouri Yard
Nice video!
You should get some velcro and a plate to throw over your addy when you film. So you don't have to remember in editing which shots to block it out, because some you miss it some you get it. But the lawn looks amazing even if not as dark. I'm hoping to just get mine as thick as this!
interesting. your neighbor's lawn looks darker than yours? or is it the camera?
jake there was a guy from crown point pitching in the chicago vs Indinans baseball today
Thanks for being honest man. Nice video Jake...
Jake: I've kind of done the same thing this year myself in backing off the Nitrogen and focus more on the soil, but with all the rain, I think my N levels have plummeted, not allowing for the vigorous green it once had. So, I know we want to back off, but we need to put some in, otherwise we will be get dominating by the neighbors and that's not cool. Obviously, your double darking some N in, so hopefully you'll get some pop from that. I'm trying to hold off a bit longer from dumping a nice dose of Milo on, as I didn't want the Phosphorus, which is bad for fungus. Happing growing!
Brian Schmitz Milo has phos..
Can you apply your herbicide , fungicide and insecticide as well when you apply this application . Good to see you are wearing long pants . Also how to you wash your deck of your mower between yards so that you are not sharing spreading disease . Any spreader stick as well do you use with any of them products . How much rain time do I have and how much rain is a wash off ?
Jake-how late in the season can I spray? Cold season in Boston! Cheers!
Just purchased the bio pack. What is best way to apply to my yard? All at once or space each one out? Was intending to apply each once a month. Please give your advice.
How often do you reapply the double dark combo during the growing season ?
Jake. Are the seedlings at the beginning a weed or fescue? I have them in my lawn and it’s not overgrown and didn’t look like fescue to me.
I guess liquid is all the rage now. Me? Milo, times 4, and an iron shot in August during a reduced nitrogen period, way greener than here, and milo has micro antagonists? He's graduated to long pants at least PPE. Nice vid overall.
What video software do you use to edit? Keep up the good work!
How often do you apply the double dark of 0-0-2 and 7-0-0?
Great videos as always kid! Just one question.... why do you prefer to apply the GCF products via sprayer over hose end? Do u find it more manageable and “cleaner”?
Great question. For me, it all comes down to the area I'm treating. For example. If I'm only treating my front lawn, I almost always use the hoseend sprayer especially with high nitrogen products like the 18-0-1 Greene Punch. Whereas if I'm treating my lawn in conjunction with the neighbors lawn, I use the backpack as it allow me to cover more area in less time.
Jake have you done a soil test on your lawn?
I like the N-Ext products, but liquid fert seems too little for too much. But I'll wait n see your results.. nice job..
@HomesliceDrummer sprayable u-maxx $3.7 per Lb/n vs 13+ for 18-0-1
@HomesliceDrummer I have the same opinion and there are other liquid products that are also expensive. I used a 50/50 blend of 13-13-13 and some cheap lawn fert w/iron 27-4-7 and put down a little RGS+Humic-12 and wow. The darkest green I have ever had in the lawn.
Hey I put down 30-0-10 in the lawn. Can I still put down 0-0-2 microgreen. Help
Awesome video again Jake ... double High Five for you !!!
🙌🙌
Your grass went Super Sayain 4!!
Does your neighbor make UA-cam videos ? I want to know what they use . Great vid but you’re kinda being dominated
Upping soil quality will provide better results long term
The neighbor's lawn looks double dark instead of yours.
Well Jake and lookers in on that tells every1 how good of a product MILO IS
It's not so much the Milo ...it's the NPK that goes into the soil...if he would have dropped some form of granular NPK like Carbon X, Scotts, Lesco his lawn would be like it was last year...but I understand what he is doing...I'm doing sort of the same but I did feed a 10-10-10 Fert at start of Spring. 👍🏼

Question...just moved into a new house. Yard is all Bermuda sod. It’s about 3-4 months old. I threw down milo, is there anything else I can/should throw down right now? Thanks
If you have Bermuda, watch How to with Doc. He has a Bermuda yard. Check out his website also. It has the Bermuda grass calendar and a lot of other information, including the products he uses.
Bio stimulant pack will really help with establishment.
How much water do you add to the sprayer when you mix in a dose of rgs for example? Same question for all the other N-Ext products.
You have to add enough to cover 1000 sqft at the pace you are walking. So you need to calibrate your sprayer and your walking. Either measure off 1000 sqft and fill your sprayer with just water and see how much of a gallon you use. Should try to get around 1 gallon per 1000 sqft. Or just walk your whole lawn. For me I do 10,000 sqft with 8 gallons. So for a 3 oz per 1000, I would use 30oz of product and 8 gallons of water. But the tank holds 4 gallons so split it in half.
@@jasonfournier I appreciate the response. I've never used a sprayer before and wanted to have an idea of what I was doing before going in.
Lots of videos to watch to learn Remember it’s only grass it grows!
@@bigturbob7356 No problem. Some products you need to water in and so less important of exact ratio, but need to turn on the sprinklers or do before a rain. For spot spraying weeds you should follow the ratios on the label but usually are listed as oz per gallon.
Newbie here - Can I combine (cocktail) the 9 oz - MicroGreene & 6 oz - Greene Effect per 1,000 sq ft/per Gallon? Or I need to do separate sprays of each? Cheers!!
Both can be mixed in the sprayer. No harm or foul there 👍💯
@@JakeTheLawnKid Awesome! I am going to try it out this week! :)
as your old neighbor once said...Nitrogen drives the bus! :)
How many times a year can you throw down this app?
Can you not mix rgs and Humic 12 together?
Yes, you can
Have you applied the DD with an Ortho sprayer yet? I was planning on applying it that way...🤷🏻♂️
Not yet.
It can be applied that way, right?
@@LawnDad Yeah..hose end sprayer works fine..Havent tried with a backpack sprayer yet though.
Joshua Leon, cool thanks. Did you dilute the concentrates or just mix them and dump them in the Ortho hose end?
@@LawnDad Honestly I havent used GCF products yet...but Ive been using a liquid fert called liquid lawn by urban farm and on the label it says to pour 32 oz of product into the hose end...but for the Next products I believe for every oz of product you have to mix with a certain amount of oz of water. It should say on the back of the bottle..I just bought the bio stim pack but havent used them yet.
Do you treat peoples lawns?
How long to start to see results?
About 6 to 9 days.
Jake thank you for you video they are very helpful do you have a email
Jake, for a project, remove the basketball hoop and see how long it would take to get grass under there to look like the rest of your lawn via all your techniques and products. A JTLK test plot a la Pete Deny......
Add ironite
You're the one being dominated, "bro". See ya later.
Funny how you show the split screen on green punch and no green punch. Of course the side with nothing on would look not as green....duh lol
Only thing I see is all you guys are being bias and push your buddies products. I'm not biting!
To each his own!
Well the stuff works. And if it works it works. My yard is green as hell. No shame in my game :-)
Works great on my lawn and with the Milo shortage it’s a lifesaver
But you have no problem watching there videos for free advice
Frank C The unicorn pee works. I’m not affiliated.
How about John Perry stops using all of the lawn care channels on UA-cam to promote his product by sending them free products.
Stuff is all bogus. Don't waste your money
Expand your statement. I'm listening.
@@davidschultz9980 I feel its all bullshit because my lawn is like a golf course and I've never used the stuff nor do I think it's necessary. Aerate and overseed every fall, water deep and infrequently, mow tall, fertilize 4 times per year (I use synthetic fert) and you will get great results without all the snake oil. Look at the Lawn Care But. He had an awesome lawn for years without ever using the snake oil. All of a sudden, because he his making money by selling it, this stuff is necessary?
Look at his videos over the years. His lawn was always like a carpet without ever using the stuff and so is mine. How much better are you trying to get it? Don't waste your money on it. Take the money you were going to spend and take your wife out to dinner instead. You might just get laid!
@@NorthShore2 Much of it will depend on what sort of soil your working with or starting out with, grass is a plant and we know the prime things plants need to thrive. No different than growing a top end garden producing crazy food. All comes down to the soil and how you have managed it/amended it.
@@travisedwards9983 that's a very good explanation but wouldn't you think it would be better to amend the soil with organic material such as manure compost topsoil and peat moss instead of using these liquid formulas
@@NorthShore2 Yes and no, like said depends on soil type. A really heavy clay turf or sandy turf gets excellent results from say humic acid etc. Also for long term.. quick release nitrogen tends to be a no no. Also depends on if you bag your law vs mulch. Many of these sprays are simply faster means of introducing things into the plants and the soil, many of these are backed by solid science and testing. Though some are snake oil, or rather sold as 1 thing but actually basically just soap that allows water to enter top of soil for a limited time so you see some results.
