Okay, so I've been gm for a while now. Here are some comments/additions I could think of: 1. Lower your graphics settings allllll the way down. Seriously. I have an RTX 2080 and I still run everything on low, all the AA and whatever off and have my resolution scale set to 75%. Why? More frames, less visual clutter. (And some objects literally disappear, which can sometimes allow you to see enemies you normally couldn't) 2. This video kinda makes it seem like you need to be tracking ults very precisely. You don't really have to do that. Just knowing "Zen's close to ult" or "Zarya probably has grav" is enough. And plus, when you practice it for a while, tracking all ults simultaneously is pretty easy. Oh, and if you're a support player, this would ideally be your job in a team. 3. Staggering is good, but don't trade ult-charge for it. This wasn't mentioned in the video, but it is very important to only stagger enemies when they can't gain ult-charge off of it (so: they're sleeping, they're shooting a shield, they already have their ult, they're baby d.va, etc.) staggering a zen that just used transcendence is a really bad idea, since he can just farm his ult while you're waiting to kill him. 4. The taking space w/o a pick tip usually is highly dependent on who has the most survivability (shields, cover, heals, etc.). You can generally keep pushing as long as you know you won't die. 5. I'm a main tank player, so this only counts for other mts: it's (imo) better to be too aggressive than to be too passive (no, charging in 1v6 still isn't a good idea). Obviously, it's best to be neither too passive nor aggresive, but I'd prefer an overly aggressive tank over an overly passive one. There's a few reasons, but the two that come to mind are: 1. if you're in plat or whatever, you still need to learn a lot of things. You learn by making mistakes. When you go too aggressive and get punished for it (and thus die) it's easy to think "oh, that was too far forward, I shouldn't do that next time". However, when you're too passive, you might not be dying a lot, but you're also not contributing anything to your team. That's a lot harder to spot as a clear mistakes for most people. 2. Even if you charge in as Rein, hit no one and die, you (usually) have still created some space for your team. When the enemies are shooting at a Rein charging into their backline, they have to turn around, which gives your team some time to move up/get a kill. Of course, this is a bit of a hyperbole, you shouldn't charge the enemy backline, but you get what I'm saying. Once again, it's best to find the balance, but until you find that balance: don't be a pussy ;). 6. Record your gameplay and review the VOD (or get someone else to do it). It's actually insane how many mistakes you can spot when looking over your own gameplay afterwards. 7. Use voicechat. Even when no one is talking; as long as at least one other person is in the vc, it's good to make calls. Try to make them as clear as you possibly can (so, don't say "reaper flanking", say "reaper on the stairs leftside behind"). Good video btw. I expected a lot of "Just click more heads 4Head"-tips, but most were actually pretty accurate. Thanks for reading lol
@@1.z7ii Like I said, even when no one's talking, it's good to make calls in voicechat. When people are in the voicechat, even when they're not saying anything, 9/10 times they're at least listening to what you are saying. They might not do anything with what you said, but at least you tried (which _will_ sometimes change the outcome of the fight). And yeah, you'll get a lot of trolls and smurfs, but that happens at any rank. Plus, your team has only *5* chances to get a troll (assuming you're not trolling lmao) while the enemies have *6*. I don't usually agree with Jayne, but I agree with his view that about 30% of your games are lost from the start, 30% of your games are free wins and the other 40% are the games in which *you* can make the difference. If you just focus on those games and genuinely try to improve, I can almost guarantee you will climb eventually.
These are good advices! Thanks! I hope many ow players see your comment!👍 I'm in mid diamond(climbed this season from low plat) I agree that voice chat is a huge advantage in the game sometimes and also as a tank it's important to know when you have to be aggressive.(since you move the whole team) I had my latest game in Oasis as a Zarya where our Rein would only stay on the chokes and didn't snowball at all and was sometimes too far away from the team(on the other side of the point) I went to voice chat(there were only him and 1 other player) and gave shotcalls(enemy ults, flanks, when to attack etc.) and he became more useful to the team and we won!
Force them to use cool downs to get to you then juke them or make your way towards your team so they back you up. If a Winston uses his Jump to engage me on high ground he lost that fight already. Ofc good aim will make up for positioning mistakes as well. If you kill them every time they dive you they won’t dive you as much or they will mess up trying to focus you too hard.
I don’t play Widow because my aim isn’t good enough, but I think have the gamesense to analyze the situation. If they’re playing a dive tank comp for you, you’re doing your job. You shouldn’t swap because then if you do, their tanks can swap to a comp with more synergy with their DPS and support, most notably double shields. Make sure you have your grapple and just run away. Focus on getting the support and safe DPS picks until the tanks dive you, retreat and relocate as needed. You might not be popping off as much as you COULD be, but you’re doing a lot for your team by forcing the tanks to play off meta solely for you. If the DPS is going after you, it’s a bit tougher. If you’re located where they can’t reach you without using their abilities, you could possibly burst them down especially if they’re squishy like Tracer. You can clap a Tracer who is stuck on one blink pretty easily if you force recall quickly enough, and she’s a free pick if she doesn’t have recall when trying to engage you. If their Doomfist is after you, the same logic applies as the dive tanks. If you can survive and still be somewhat of a threat and their Doom is targeting you, don’t swap off. You’re doing your job. Try to get the Doom pick early like when he’s coming out of spawn or running away to regroup with team to stop him from even having the chance to get close to you. If he does get close, you HAVE to run. You’re not winning that 1v1 unless you can snap to his head (and if he has enough armor + full hp, he might even survive that). The same philosophy applies to a Genji hunting you, although it’s not as much of a death sentence if a Genji gets too close to you especially if he had to burn his blade dash to reach you. If an enemy sniper is targeting you, you just have to be better than them. If not, you have to swap. They’ll take you out of the game otherwise, make you give them free ult charge by them beating you in long distance duels, and a good sniper will immediately be looking at positions where Widowmaker likes to set up. If the entire enemy team is dive comp and they’re focusing you, they’re going to lose as long as you don’t let yourself get picked. At that point, they have no one on their team who will be able to effectively combat the rest of your team except their Doomfist and MAYBE their support depending on what supports they’re running and how good they are.
Be enough pressure to make it scary to dive you, they still will dive you and when they do either jump off highground (and grapple back up if they used a cooldown to get there) and try to use your grapple to get to savety. If you cant do this switch
Winston main here, generally it really depends on the Reaper's playstyle. If you're diving INTO him, you're gonna have a bad time. But if he's aggressing into your team/on a flank, you can use focus targeting and your shield/shield dancing to cut him out of his value. Plus if they're not actually that good, shield dancing Reapers/knowing when he has ult and offensively bubbling him/smacking him away is always a good strategy. Takes practice and trial and error though
@@TsuchiGamer06 GM Winston main and I can agree that. If he flanks you can bubble him and focus him down as a team, but if he plays the "bodyguard" playstyle and protecting supporters, you should probably swap
If you’re the Winston, always target the Reaper if he’s not paying attention to you. Bubble dance with him while he’s not looking, because if you don’t try something he’s going to eventually see you and remember you’re the person he wants to kill.
9:15 Will never forget when I was playing with a friend and our Widow said: they have mccree and soldier switch Pharah. Our Pharah was killing off both the enemy hitscans each fight, and imagine you know...if that Widow could have done that job for Pharah so Pharah could have gone for targets easier to pick for her.
Letting You know that there's interest. Really, as a former D.Va player I learned a lot about playing around Zarya, but any time the enemy would have one, my team would tell me to swap. #eatengrav.
Another thing to add for ult tracking is that you can ult track the person playing your role on the enemy team pretty accurately. Like you know in a rein V rein matchup the rein is usually going to get shatter at a similar time to you
A guide that would be interesting to see is a Zen guide (now that he's meta too) Also, yeah I would like to see that "10 biggest heroes that are countered the most" video you mentioned.
Honestly as a high plat/low diamond player, the first tip is HUGE and people underrate it too much. I often call in VC and people will say shit like "too far forward regroup fall back" when they only have 1 or 2 people left. If we push too far, we get those free 1-2 picks and if they come out of spawn with a vengeance we have a better chance of winning a 4v6 than falling back and have a better position for a 6v6. Of course I'm not saying you should spawn camp after every fight win or anything, but holy shit people suck at critically thinking in this game. Then there's the people that dont even listen to calls like ult tracking and peeling etc. I cant tell you how many times I've called out sombra EMP or their rein has shatter or they have grav and people just continue to play together and brawling. We will 100% of the time lose a 6v6 where all 6 of us are emp'd as the fight starts, when we could have cc abilities on check and higher mechanically gifted players on our team. Nothing we can do with lack of shielding/displacement and 0 abilities. This is ESPECIALLY annoying when people complain about your calls since you're a lower rank or SR than them and they mock you for trying to hard or trying to be a pro lol
Can you make a guide on rotations/positioning/pathing? I had Zenyatta in mind specifically, but this concept would def apply well to all roles and skill tiers, especially when playing things like Rein into an Orisa comp. Thanks!
Adaptive playstyle (vs your counters) definitely sounds like one of the most interresting video suggestions i heard here. Would definitely like that one!
Definitely Ult tracking is the most important at high levels. You MUST predict who has what and have a counterplay setup. If a rein, Zar, or mei casually walks up and ults your whole team there’s a problem lol
THIS IS THE SHIT THAT PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND IN GOLD/PLAT. IVE HAD SO MANY SITUATIONS WHERE I TELL THE TEAM TO PUSH AFTER WINNING A POINT TO STAGGER BUT NOBODY LISTENS AND I END UP DYING ALONE TRYING TO DO THE SMART THING. THERES ALWAYS THAT PERSON THAT YELLS “GET BACK YOURE TOO FAR FORWARD” AND MAKES EVERYONE ELSE THINK THAT CLEANING UP IS A NONO
i’ve been hardstuck plat. as soon as i started being less passive (i’m an ana player) as soon as i started going for those sleeps or going for big anti’s, only then did i start to climb. unfortunately i haven’t been able to climb out of plat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m stuck in plat I 6 stack but I always play against a full team of smurfs or people are not switching off whilst they are getting countered it’s so annoying
Would love a video on Winston/Reaper I main Winston and chuckle when the enemy switches Reaper to "counter" me. Only takes a small chance in my playstyle to not be bothered by him anymore. It takes a combination of Mei/Reaper/Bastion/Doom/Defensive Sombra to actually get me to switch.
Oh yes yes!! We need a video of the top 10 heroes that are countered because some people really don’t understand they have to either swap or change their play style ! Thanks
LOVE the idea of playing against your counter! I'm always afraid of widows as Pharah, but have noticed that I can still do tons of dmg when I play differently. Would love to hear your opinions, especially on something like Doomfist, who I'm trying to get good at (but seeing tons of McCrees).
Is playing winston and trying to dive out of position squishes while I have no support to help me dive a good idea also should I just switch off if I’m constantly getting killed while in the frontline of my team as winston due to enemy tanks pushing up while all my cool downs are down or should I change my play style at that point? I’m a gold and so close to plat tank btw if that’s needed
So who is that person that stays on the payload? Is it a dps, healer, or tank? Because I dont want my moira pushing the payload while the others push staggers and the other healer we have is zen. And now we are pushing without heals... and so many times someone dies because they can't get the heals... so who should it be that should push the payload regardless of the comp. Should it be a dps, tank, or a healer?
So if u have let's say 2 heals and 2 tanks would u wait for a DPS or not same scenario if ur missing both healers or tanks... Do u push if your missing an entire role
For the last tip does it apply to sombra too ? I mean in a case of a 2CP, you are the attacker, you start with sombra but during the game you see that you don't make a big difference... but you still want to keep sombra for the emp, is it a bad idea ? (Knowing that it's one of the best ult in the game)
Killz 20069 I would say back up and make them try to force through chokes. It’s too easy to kill people from spawn and reheal and Ult build. Plus trapping them in spawn allows them to select counters to your character. Once you die, you have to run back which on many maps will give them an advantage and allow them to cap points.
What a useful video...you literally state the obvious. Learn to play the game is the only thing this video tells you...we already know we need to learn to play the game.
Tip number 2 when you die you watch opponents POV how he killed you and you can see his ultimate charge percentage in the time he killed you so imagine rein killed you you see 75% ult charge so after you respawn it can be already 85% on next push use it to your advantage wait for shatter before your team do big ults maybe start team fight throw there some low ultimates from your team like tracer bomb in order to make impact on ememy and push them to use their ultimates so wait and then throw your big ults to win check it out
Definitely would love to hear how to handle hammonds hard counters, Sombra and Mei . I main ball and struggle with them. Float between high silver and low gold
E before slamming when facing both. Then you typically have the hp to survive unless you're completely focused. At least in silver/gold, that will work. Theres better ways but I cant think off the top of my head. Vs Mei, make sure you're frozen while in ball form so there is not crit hitbox.
In that video concept could u please do genji when the support line is like moira or baptiste with a lucio or something because it's very hard for him to get value there
My tank duo is a ball 1 trick he’s got his skins on ball down but doesn’t understand when to switch or stick as ball the video on counters would help both of us
Could you please make me a Pro Rein video? I'm low diamond and all my buddies say I should be in at least Master so could you make me an advanced video on rein with some tips I might not know?
I have a question about genji, i see people melee after dash but it makes you shoot after it very slower so why do we even melee? every time i melee i need so much time to be able to shoot again so i die.
One possible answer is that if you 2ndary fire before dashing you can't shoot straight away afterwards anyway. If you shoot before dashing the weapon will still be cooling down between shots. So you fill the gap with a Melee, which has a reliably large hitbox and just adds a free 30 damage, and makes finishing the target easier when you can shoot again because they're on lower HP.
Like he said ability combo like if you are playing with a rein sleep an enemy and let the rein pin them and if theirs a zen using ultimate anti them so they don’t get healing then let your teammates stagger. Also don’t forget to kill pharahs they are easy picks.
Last one, 10 is not really True for ranked games. People are usially toxic here and Will blame you even when ultimate you swapping was batist matrix for examle.
Im doing all of this being a plat healer dropping significally because bad stubborn teammates. Im experienced. And still not gm. What am i doing wrong?
All the tips skill and best Guides in the land will not help you break more than a %55 win ration that the ladder matches force on players. @@Zero-9909 Why would you think that? It's a normal thing. Usually what happens is a teamfight will be clearly won but there will b 2 people left backing up and trying to find cover somewhere. It’s amazing how fast an enemy dps can switch to reaper when I get one pick as winston
@@willsheridan270 LOL really. It's like "oh hey guys. Lets see if they switch to reaper here". And when they do, I still don't care
Is playing winston and trying to dive out of position squishes while I have no support to help me dive a good idea
also should I just switch off if I’m constantly getting killed while in the frontline of my team as winston due to enemy tanks pushing up while all my cool downs are down or should I change my play style at that point?
Please do a video on playing against counters! Potentially even 3 videos, 1 for each role
Definitely interested in that playing against hard counters vid! I hope there’s enough demand for it to be a next up video! Thanks for all the tips! 🙏
This video inspires me a lot! Thank you!
I watch these videos everyday and never get better lol
Part of why I love playing Brig is because it almost forces my team to chase staggers with me.
If a reaper has ult and im mcree should i try to focus him everytime he comes back from spawn or wait for him to pop ult then stun?
Wait for ult pop, flashbang and fan the hammer or do 2hs
Please make a video about playing against counters. I play tracer and people tell me to switch if there’s a McCree or brig
Just a question, is trapping your enemy team in spawn a good move? Or should the team back up?
Killz 20069 I would say back up and make them try to force through chokes.
It’s too easy to kill people from spawn and reheal and Ult build.
Plus trapping them in spawn allows them to select counters to your character. Once you die, you have to run back which on many maps will give them an advantage and allow them to cap points.
I really wish he used clips that were related to the video
What a useful video...you literally state the obvious. Learn to play the game is the only thing this video tells you...we already know we need to learn to play the game.
Definitely do a play against counters guide!
YEEEES THAT VIDEO SOUNDS SUPER LIT PLEASEEEE POST IT
Tip number 2 when you die you watch opponents POV how he killed you and you can see his ultimate charge percentage in the time he killed you so imagine rein killed you you see 75% ult charge so after you respawn it can be already 85% on next push use it to your advantage wait for shatter before your team do big ults maybe start team fight throw there some low ultimates from your team like tracer bomb in order to make impact on ememy and push them to use their ultimates so wait and then throw your big ults to win check it out
Great content! Ty
Is there any trick that gms do to avoid genji/tracer players that have 9 kills per 10minutes?
Definitely would love to hear how to handle hammonds hard counters, Sombra and Mei . I main ball and struggle with them. Float between high silver and low gold
E before slamming when facing both. Then you typically have the hp to survive unless you're completely focused. At least in silver/gold, that will work. Theres better ways but I cant think off the top of my head. Vs Mei, make sure you're frozen while in ball form so there is not crit hitbox.
In that video concept could u please do genji when the support line is like moira or baptiste with a lucio or something because it's very hard for him to get value there
I'm stuck in silver and gold. I need help ranking up!!
My tank duo is a ball 1 trick he’s got his skins on ball down but doesn’t understand when to switch or stick as ball the video on counters would help both of us
who cares about gm...I just want to make it from plat to diamond lol its too hard.
Carston i solo queued 2500 to 3600 with like under 10 hrs played, it’s hard. I’m just a washed up masters tho so still fairly easy for me
Not your fault boss they are forcing us to maintain a %50 win ratio maybe sometimes a little better. ladder is broken been that way for 3 years
Could you please make me a Pro Rein video? I'm low diamond and all my buddies say I should be in at least Master so could you make me an advanced video on rein with some tips I might not know?
I would be very interested in watching it if you do make one
Who’s your main?
I have a question about genji, i see people melee after dash but it makes you shoot after it very slower so why do we even melee? every time i melee i need so much time to be able to shoot again so i die.
One possible answer is that if you 2ndary fire before dashing you can't shoot straight away afterwards anyway. If you shoot before dashing the weapon will still be cooling down between shots. So you fill the gap with a Melee, which has a reliably large hitbox and just adds a free 30 damage, and makes finishing the target easier when you can shoot again because they're on lower HP.
@@pkshd but then if the target is still alive and u want to shoot, u have to wait even longer to be able to shoot
@@remu002 I said its' one possible answer. I never said it was right in every situation.
oh yes we need that counter playstyle change video for sure
Any tips for Ana to dominate?
Like he said ability combo like if you are playing with a rein sleep an enemy and let the rein pin them and if theirs a zen using ultimate anti them so they don’t get healing then let your teammates stagger. Also don’t forget to kill pharahs they are easy picks.
I welcome a video on hard counters. Thumbs up from me.
#1 tip for ranking up: Get a 144hz+ monitor.
9:40 Yes pls
I'd like to see a video about widow counters since it seems like there's a million of them.
Hell ya id love that vid dude
i like ur vids they are pretty cool
9:41 I would like to see that :$
I would like to see a Orissa Vod review
Please make a video how to play against hard counters
I'm in gold, and #1 hurts me so much.
I want everyone to watch this video and so number 1.
Please do a review on D.va
Do the videos of who counters who
changing playstyles against "hard" counters
Plz do that Video i'm a genji Main i need that
I think a sigma vod would help a ton of lower ranked sigma players like me
Please make more support videos 🙏🏾
Yes
Value 100% thnx
These are all crucial and amazing tips... Its too bad lots of casuals arent capable of using brains tho.
You could have talk about solo ulting
Top workshop game modes
Give me a ton on of Ashe Tips plz
You can't go anything with tire or blossom
Counter-picks 4 each hero, please)
Please do that video please
Dude you are so underrated!
I track ults but I'm only a gold rank
what does staggering mean
Killing single enemies who are separated from the rest of their team so as to stagger their respawn and delay their rejoining the rest of their team.
Pls make the counter video
How come we always have to smash the like button? Why can't we just tickle it?
Junk vod review plz
I am soldier main and Dav and sigma are very annoying for me
If you’re wrecking ball and they have sombra swap off
And thats why you are bronze
Dragon Blade..
All you Winston mains make me chuckle haha. Reaper will be the least of your worries when I’m Roadie
Literally uploading the same video like twice a week rip
Last one, 10 is not really True for ranked games. People are usially toxic here and Will blame you even when ultimate you swapping was batist matrix for examle.
This game is like 12 player game of chess
Ball vs sombra
Im doing all of this being a plat healer dropping significally because bad stubborn teammates. Im experienced. And still not gm. What am i doing wrong?
I can still play genji and still win
All the tips skill and best Guides in the land will not help you break more than a %55 win ration that the ladder matches force on players. Its a winners vs. loser matchmaking system that has been nothing but problems for skilled players since 2016. You see top ranked skill sets at the bottom of gold rank but the guys are playing against 6 barely bronze ranked skill level opponents. There is only one word for such a system of placement. "BROKEN"
This guide seemed to be more dps role focused... :(
Why do you cover your rank?
Hard counter video yo
I can’t rank up its so anoying
I knew everything still in gold
@@snorlaxgd3247 maybe or just team cooperation. No matter how good u r u ain't winning a 1v6 w out a once in a while opening for an ult over and over to hold point the entire match. U need team cooperation that's only realistic for 1v1s, deathmatches, or 3v3s...
That being said... 😂😂😂
Remember guys and girls abuse highground pro tip
Pls give me SR!
You failed right from the start. Chasing down staggers happens literally every game I play in platinum.
this is a lie
@@Zero-9909 Why would you think that? It's a normal thing. Usually what happens is a teamfight will be clearly won but there will b 2 people left backing up and trying to find cover somewhere. Usually myself and 1 or 2 more people will rush those people and the other half of the team will either be clueless and sit on the cart or will realize we are hunting staggers and push up with us. And then what happens is the enemy team will keep walking out of spawn with a man disadvantage and waste 2 or 3 minutes feeding. This is pretty normal to me. What makes you think it's a lie?
Rank up? what is it. All I see more I try to be good, more i drop down over
