Those cars are more about track performance and Endurance Racing. 0-100 matters no where there. Ford has proven the car there (even when it was a bit fishy how they made it happen) and McLaren has proven nothing in that case since the F1 won LeMans decades ago. In Endurance a few teams tried McLaren but wihout great sucess yet. Loeb changend his Endurance Teams back from McLaren to Audi within one season because they are not there yet for that kind of racing.
Yea. OK - The P1 is faster there but in real racing it would not stand a chance with that setup. Not even the Track Version. They make sense for a hot lap but thats why easier to achieve than a Endurance setup for 6 to 24 hour racings. Different kind of cars and for that hard to compare. - But i got what you want to say.

And yet at no time did I sense that Matt was driving recklessly or over his head. It was obvious that the car was barely scratching the surface of its capabilities. This drive brought home to us motorheads that Ford's GT exists in a performance universe that Hellcat and Corvette drivers will never inhabit. Matt's “one take” in this fabulous car is the closest most of us will ever come to experiencing the real-world performance of a 21st century exotic performance car.
Geeez I was about to grab my invisible dash when he was going through some of those corners ! Scared the living shit outa me and I'm not even in the car ! Goodness that thing is fast !!
My favorite review of the GT yet, looked like a blast to toss through the canyons
Flat as a pancake around those bends. Amazing!
Some totally legal speeds out there. Keep up the good work! There is just no other video on youtube like this one. Really enjoyed it. Thank you!!!
This feels like Autobahn speed when I've done them .. .but on a twisty road. It obviously gives the driver a lot of confidence around corners. Matt has bigger balls than I have .. I'd be maxing out at < half the speed he's doing. What a cool car ! Great video / channel. Great to see an enthusiast having fun !
Cop: Do you know how fast....
Matt: Take me to jail.
Man that is fast it would be too easy to get into trouble and then give the police a run for their money! Ford GT outruns the cops part 2 anyone?
Vader 616 the cop would probably just want a picture anyways
you were rippin !
Translates to: you we are rippin
"You! We are rippin!"
Best car test video I have ever watched. I started watching Top Gear in the 90's
Awesome video!! Just re-watched it three years later and still brought huge smiles!!
that is freaking FAST. mexico looks nice this time of year.
anybody who hasnt seen the "just the noise" for this. needs to see/hear it.
It's like a modern day F40, but actually won at Le Mans.
Lol what? the only gt40 that didnt impress at le mans was the 2004-08 model, everyone other one has either been best in class, was likely to be best in class (accident/unexpected malfunction), or was dam close. The GT40 has and I think always will be a legend.
@@anonymousanonymous9991 he said F40, not GT40.
Pretty good comparison actually. Although the F40 never copped the criticism of it's interior the GT has, even though it was much worse, looked home made.
@@anonymousanonymous9991 1966 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Ford, drove all over Ferrari and won again in 67, 68 and 69 if I recall my history correctly? Then in 1970 the De Tomaso Pantera was introduced the "street" version.
@@deanfirnatine7814 where the hell did you get that the Pantera was the "street" version
Have never really cared for this car until your video, Matt. I feel like I need to rewatch this with headphones/earbuds on to truly capture the glorious engine notes. It’s amazing how they made a V6 sound ya way it does. Truly an amazing car coming from not a big Ford fan.
On a side note, why have the stars not aligned to get you into the seat of a 720s!? You make driving at those speeds on these roads look so effortless and always staying within the lines!
"Filmed in various parts of Mexico" .... Nice work Matt, love this car and your enthusiasm.
That engine noise. Such a hard on. I was skeptical, now I am sold. Just wish it wasn't 450k. Amazing car.
D Moore would you buy it if it was less? Lol nope
Incepting what?
max junior i was asking if he would buy it if it was at a lesser price. Pointing out that he shouldnt be concerned with the pricd
Incepting i dont know about him but if it was lesser of course i would buy it.
Love the matching sweater!
I hate how people give the GT so much shit for no storage space it’s a race car not Ford Expedition this car was designed to be tracked and be driven to the track
I've got a family connection to the original GT40 and this video makes me prouder than it should! This car is off the hook and what a fantastic video as well!
Been a fan of yours since the RPM Radio days on Sirius satellite radio. Keep up the great work brother
Jesus that thing corners flat.
Jesus is not god nor he's the begotten son of God
BigBoss huh
I appreciate the watch podcast but, Matt don't stop making car videos. Find a new way to make them if you're bored. This was one of your best.
Man he was flying. Fastest one take I've seen so far .
This is the single best car video I've seen on UA-cam. Well done.
I truly love your reviews. You’re really a car guy. All the laughs, quirks, jokes, and screams just add to the experience. It feels real, like I’m there.
My hands started to sweat watching you take those corners at those speeds haha a normal car just couldn’t.
A stunning masterpiece from Ford.
One of my "When I win the lottery" purchase cars for sure :D
Twobarpsi lmmfao we all have those huh?
WoW! I was just thinking that I haven't seen any videos of anyone really driving the new GT. Nice work.
Amazing job on this video! The sound and filming were spot on, really makes this car feel so special! Makes me miss the noises my E92 M3 made so much. Keep on with the great content!
I’m glad that sweater has made it into your rotation.
DDMSteveB Seriously, it’s like some kinda Cosby Kwanza hideousness.
So badass, I want one so bad...Damn you we’re getting it. I think it’s better than a McLaren...
Neale I bet it outruns a p1. The Viper ACR only barely didn't.
Neale these aren't drag cars. Track times are what matters.
Neale look at the price difference too
Holy mother of...
This is the best TST I've seen, watching a Ford GT driven like this gives me goosebumps. So awesome.
This is the only channel with a guy in the drivers seat who can actually drive very well, with good commentary and genuine sense of sensation. Unlike vehicle virgins who screams in every car.
