Pocket video cameras have been made obsolete now
by the smartphone but 8 years ago, there was a wave of these sharing focused gadgets coming out as a result of the explosion of
UA-cam and Social Media.
I was resistant to pick one up, because I was just not
satisfied with the so called “HD” quality that many of these pocket
cameras seemed to boast.
But when Sony revised their sharing oriented “webbie” camera into the “bloggie” giving it the ability to shoot full HD video as well as 360 degree video. They had my attention and I talked my dad into getting one as the new family video camera.
However much I liked it, The bloggie was not a big hit with the critics. Many panned it for various reasons encouraging people to check out
the pocket camera offerings of Kodak, Flip and JVC instead.
I've always felt this was such a grave injustice
since I felt the bloggie simply shot much sharper video than the competition.
So tonight I guess I wanted to shine a light on this charming old camcorder and show off what it was truly capable of.
I apologise for the lack of videos lately, my studies and the starting of a new job have kept me busy. I am still determined to continue making these silly videos about charming obsolete gadgets however. They just won’t come every week or even every month, but I will do my best. Lots of love, Tim.

He’s back boys
yay
Finally
Yay xD
Next upload is gonna be next year tho
Hell yeah! So happy. Always worth the wait.
every time i see a new video from you i always love it to bits and pieces. keep up the great work man, cant wait for a new video from you
I remember back when you put videos out regularly. You could of been a contender! On a serious note, this feels like a class project.
what a nice surprise finding a video of yours on my inbox. Great work as always
Take care
Your videos are so relaxing.
The way you feel about this camera... is the same way i feel about Wii U and i would like to show why it is so aweosome to have one... or atleast why it makes me happy. I'll get a pocket camera, i'm not confortable with my phone to take pictures and video of the sky.
@2:10 Damn that looks better than photos I take with a $1000 actual Camera.
Very good video guys .. That is a job of artists.
Good god you are back!!!!!
My first camera good times
Until next time, take care!
(I'm wondering if ghgTV in 2017 will be a thing)
Yesss finally
I missed you
Quality
Great to see you back at it brother! the good ol bloggie, i had one, but the autofocus drove me nuts! (weird that you had the fixed focus model, never knew that one existed).
Haha, I had no clue that models with autofocus existed!
I hope he stays! Need his content for my morning coffee.
Even though you didn't notice me as a running commenter, you, Tim, are one of the most intelligent and pleasing people I have ever seen. Your editing style, visuals, scripts, and simple personality, work so well in tandem that build a atmosphere so unique that I feel like that it will never be replicated properly. I've been watching you since Secondary/High School, that's since I was a depressed young person, but when you uploaded a video, I was emotionally invested (regardless of the tone set in each video).
While I did step back from the channel, waited a few months after getting my first year done of college to check you out and give you a proper chance. But then I discovered that Mini-DV video, made me laugh, cry, and feel a sense of what I rarely feel: Pure Happiness. It was so well made that it caused me to get back here, I'm home, I'm alive, and I love your work, and I shall stay. Tim, you gave me hope, gave me inspiration, and most importantly... Purpose: To figure out what happened to me and other people, and humanity itself.
Tim... Thank you. You're one of my favourite true content creators here, you're genuine, you're original, and best of all... You're worthy of being one of the modern greats of video. And don't let that ego take you over, for that will make you go down, but hey, take it as you will. Thank you for reading this, I doubt you find this.
Such a beautiful story man
Reading such comments fill my heart with joy. Thank you for making my day better.
Lol u probably waited 6 months to say this
@@remz6601 Lmao what prompts you to write something like this? Is he really the one fishing a reply, or are you?

WELL IT’S ABOUT GOSH DARN TIME
xD right
😒 i know rite, like wtf 😊
facts
Well he is studying to be a product designer
I remember back in the 2010 Days when the Argos Catalogue was filled with these, and all the cheap knock-offs which covered a solid 3 Pages ... Compared to the 1 Page of Real Camera Tech. Always wanted one, but never actually grabbed one, and used a now 16 year old Polaroid camera to film with.
flip mino I got one back in 2008 I think and loved it caried it everywhere video'd nothing important
I'm a subscriber to Budget-Builds Official but I do find it irritating that he posts comments on every single channel almost immediately after they've posted. The comments are always just authentic enough to gain traction, but this behaviour is disingenuous.
@@amandaaman4196: I'm not spamming. Im commenting about the video.
@@rc55uk: I do actually watch the videos, and the comment is relevant, am I not allowed to comment about how I feel towards the video...
I remember as a kid, getting a £40 knockoff from argos. I was so excited to use it to make stop motion animations and upload them to youtube. But the built in storage could barely hold 20 pictures before I had to plug it in, and transfer the photos to the hard drive of my windows xp PC. But the USB on the camera was so flimsy it broke before I could finish a single animation. I was so upset about it I stopped making animations when I was 10 and never went back.
In all seriousness, your ability to tell stories, whether they are about nostalgic memories, old cameras or even simple computer components, is something that is unrivalled anywhere else on this platform, both vocally and through visuals. Have you ever considered being a filmmaker? You may take ages to pump out videos but none of them ever feel rushed or incomplete, which is what I really like about you and your content. Keep it up, and never stop making videos.
Whatever bad time of the day you may have, GHG makes it go away.
Nice to have you back man. Keep up the good work!
Yeah one day in every 3 months 😂
Yep
Jackson Mcquade Thats cause he puts so much effort in his videos, he isn't Jake Paul to have a shitty cancerous vlog every day, he is a real creator.
The music, editing, scenes and every other aspect takes a lot of time, especially if you are a one-man channel and don't have expensive equipment and a whole team behind your back.
IMHO these kinds of channels that don't upload that often, but everytime they do its a great video are the best and are the real reason UA-cam was created in the first place, to give a shot to everyday average individuals with a lot of talent and passion to put content out for other people to see it.(at least until Google didn't ruin it with its algorithms)
Honestly true
There's something about your videos that I can't explain, that makes them so much better than other tech videos. I think it might be how personal they feel, like you're talking to us instead of a broad audience.
Lol, just yesterday i was wondering that maybe notfications aren't activated in your channel because it's been so damn long since your last post, well, they were activated btw waiting for you to post another glorious video, and fortunately it didn't take much longer, heeeere we go... 👌
I legit searched your channel last night to see when your last upload was
Your upload schedule is worse than my diet.
Still grabbed a cup of tea though ;)
I see you're a man of culture as well.
*legend just joined the server*
i love you man one of the best youtubers been on youtube since 2006. big love from the uk love your passion
"Me Passing by the grave yard of passed channels" "looks at green ham gaming and sees its been dug up" "runs home to watch this video"
I never make comments. you have a production value that is insane and always well thought out and interesting videos. you create an atmosphere that no other has come close to in this field.
"The video quality isn't that good to be honest."
*checks to find out that the video is only in 360p at the moment*
"oh."
Yeah, same here. That moment when you suddenly feel really really dumb.
This 2010 camera records much better video than my 2017 phone
because Sony Image sensors have ALWAYS been amazing. The ones used in many phones are just random OEM crap.
Best part is my phone is a Sony Xperia Xa1
@@wunyons Sony doesn't optimize their sensors for their phones as much as the OEMs who Sony also supplies camera sensors to
@@LouisSubearth Yeah. Plus the camera software plays a big role as well. They usually all run with automatic image-processing that filters the normal video noise and leaving you with smudgy filtered pictures that, even in high resolution, don't really have much details. It sucks that you cannot even turn all this off. Not even with third party camera apps like OpenCamera.
Had the same phone a couple years ago. Worst mobile camera I've ever seen even on a low-end phone, had to change the battery and the screen 4 times(owned the phone for 1.5 years).
Thanks for reminding me why I love this channel. Tim, you are a gift to the internet.
That's what I love about dedicated hardware, it makes you focus on using it without all of the notifications interrupting and having to finagle with the touch screen.
HES BACK BOYS!!
Dropping everything to watch this momentous occasion of an upload
As you should
6:46 the rectangle shaped cloud looks like a flag at the end of that pole
Its been half a year, I can't believe it
Dude I still have an orange MHS-CM1 laying around, I used it to record one of my first videos on UA-cam. And that music at 2:28 brings back so many memories from back in the day, sitting in a couch with the Sony Ericsson W800, trying to make some cool music using the MusicDJ app and dreaming of becoming a music producer. Those were the days.
This video is so awesome. I saved the model number of this camera five years ago and fiiiiiinally bought one today.
Welcome back!
I remember getting my Flip video camera, good ol days!
Beautiful video as always. I love your appreciation for the tech that often goes underappreciated, and the perspective you can add to it. Your music choice always fits your videos perfectly, and even when image quality isn't the best, the feeling you get across is impressive. Glad you're back man, I'll be happily waiting for whatever videos you post, no matter how long they take, because they're always worth the wait.
OMG FINALLY!
You finally uploaded \o/
That Sony Ericsson music maker song at 2:30 is giving me nostalgia^^
And yes, I agree that the footage taken with that cam is truly stunning.
And you're damn right, I capped like everything when I always carried a cam with me
That's what that was. The nostalgia hit me but I don't know from where. I still use a Sony phone to this day.
Really missed you man! Though it's satisfying to watch your new video again it's also means another disappearance for another half a year. So I guess it's hello and good bye again. Glad you're OK old friend!
this was so fun to watch
Am I dreaming? A GHGTV upload?!? I don't know if this is the best day of my life, but it easily makes the top 5.
I only get exited for 2 things
Smash and GHG
Imagine my week
Wow.
I came home from school yesterday and saw the video in my sub box.
Didn't watch it until I got home from work today and I gotta say, what a beautiful video you've made Tim. Very relaxing as well.
This kinda content suits your channel swimmingly. :) -RobTheButcher
For some reasons the opening gave me The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya nostalgia. I also rocked an w910i Sony Ericsson :)
Dude... your style of video relaxes me and interests me at the same exact time, 100%. I kinda needed Green Ham Gaming in my recent chaotic life. It reminds me that we can, as intelligent humans, just sit down, chill out, and enjoy the little things sometimes.
I dont even care how often you upload your videos are so nostalgic and unique great work keep it up.
No words for this video, made me so happy
Always a treat to watch your vids GHG. Mighty fine work!
By far one of my favorite youtube channels and by far my favorite computer/tech channel I miss you greenham!

There's no discussion about Nintendo Switch.
Amazing video as always! I miss those times when we were so less distracted by our cell phones and just admired things much more than we do now. Love your videos GHG!
I love your content just wish it was more frequent
BTW you look like Chandler from f.r.i.e.n.d.s
Now that you said that, I can't see GHG the same way 😂😂😂
No need to insult the guy...
GHG, don't let us waiting for too long until next video. ;)
We'll come back GHG. Love the simplicity of this camera and how you are showing the love from it's flaws. Keep doing quality over quantity. Love your channel
The music at 2:30 to 2:53 sounds like a midi file you could make on the built in DJ app on my old Sony Ericsson K510i
Skye Ford it is
360p squad
These pockets camcorder still better than most 2019 smartphones
2:30 - Oh my god, are those the Sony Music Maker or whatever they called it MIDIs? Boy I love ya man
I wouldn't have been surprised it if was released in 2018
He's back. Good to hear from you again man.
Graphics card recommendation in 2018
The man, the myth, the legend, Tim is back! You’ve been one of my fave UA-camrs for the last 2-3 years, I still remember when you used to always upload, especially that time when you forced an American accent in some of your vids ahah and I’ll always binge watch your videos day and night. Now it’s a once in a while type thing, but hey that’s life and the GHG community will always be here for you and we’ll wait for you to upload again no matter how long it’ll take
Mate, your just great. No better way to describe you.
Why am I crying at the club rn because of a camera?
Never clicked that fast on a video... Love you Green Ham Gaming
Wow your not dead, and how do you pick such great music
OMG DUDE UR VIDS ARE SO GOOD WHY DO U ONLY UPLOAD EVERY YEAR
Dude, came here on the recommendation of another creator friend
Bloody awesome 👌
6:25 Fully Automatic Assault Camera?
Much love from Canada! Keep killin it man✊😈❤
Era hora que subas un video.
creo que no soy el único que habla español acá
Alguien de mi especie :v
No son los únicos hermanos. Saludos a todos desde Ciudad de México :3
Vamos los piiii
you are like the ryan gosling of nostalgia tech video blogs
beautiful video as always. love seeing you post new videos!
Someone let me know when '360p club' is over so I can watch in the glorious HD, please. 👍🏻
GHG, when will you come back??
I shit my pants when i saw you made a video.
I'm crying it's been to long man. Holy shit like woah. Your voice gives me chills dude, like dude. It's like nostalgia almost holy shit.
Even though I never had one of those your video still captures the nostalgia factor about just going outside and take some nice shots with whatever camera that was available!
I remember that I used a camera with flash running on 2 AA batteries-Battery life was pretty bad to say the least still it was a blast to use :D
Every video GHG comes out with is like a love letter. You can feel all of the honest work that was put in to them. So much shitty material coming out these days by hustlers, big companies and douchebags who clickbait their way to millions of dollars. Its good to know that this channel even exists.
Hey dude, glad to see you're back!
WHY JUST WHY DO YOU ONLY HAVE 150K subs
Because he only uploads every 150 thousand days
Your videos are always high quality in content! Wasn't expecting the 360 attachment! Great work

I have a Kodak Zi8 .I use it all the time
It's about time you uploaded
What camera was used at 7:05 to capture you holding the bloggie?
This seem to be done with the Canon C100. He listed the used cameras for this video at the end.
He's Back, from self imposed exile, with another Classic Video!
Music choices were amazing in this tribute! Great work once more! We've missed ya! Welcome back!
OHH GOD..... HE DO STILL ALIVE
